Depends on pilot weight and wing size. Aka 'wing loading'. A light pilot with a big wing can do this with light winds. In my case, at 65kg with a wing sized 170 square feet, an average of 35km with gusts of 45~50km works. But I also own an Alpha 210 that I use for teaching, that one can probably do this with 25~35km winds. Alpha 235 also exists, and the Wills Wing Condor 330 is the biggest available, that one floats super easy. It also depends on the dune size and steepness. This dune here is very tiny, just about my own height
A lot of the time he is flying with the bar quite forward, flight speed is at minimum sink. Try staying a just little further back in the lift band, not crabbing but turning the wing a bit more cross wind. Pull the bar in a bit more and accelerate from min sink, through trim to best glide. A bit faster will give more control and you will get a bit higher at best glide. On the turn push out a bit and you will gain altitude as you go through the turn.

Por enquanto ainda dá, a área de pouso oficial da Lagoa da Conceição está ameaçada, prestes a virar centro comercial e casas. Sem local seguro de pouso, o esporte acaba! Ainda tem outros lugares como a Praia Brava, Santinho, e Praia mole, onde o pouso é na praia mesmo. Mas na cidade, já tivemos vôo no Morro da Cruz (centro), também extinto por volta de 2000 por conta da expansão imobiliária. O Shopping Iguatemi (hoje Villa Romana) foi a gota d'água que inviabilizou o pouso.
Sobre o capacete, todos os pilotos sempre usam. Se é a primeira vez que voce vê, não deve ter visto muitos videos de asa delta, ou então viu alguns dos anos 1970 quando realmente muitos não usavam nada. É item fundamental de segurança. Ao contrário do que a maioria pensa, o risco do vôo livre não é "cair lá de cima", isso nunca acontece. As asas modernas são construídas nos mesmos parâmetros de segurança dos aviões. Suportam ao menos cargas de +/- 6G na carga máxima especificada, certificadas em testes, e normalmente são construídas com ainda mais margem do que isso (até 10G). Além disso, têm estabilidade e recuperação de mergulho passivas. A maioria dos acidentes acontece em pousos mal executados, por erro do piloto, quando o piloto já está próximo do chão, em velocidades baixas. A principal função do capacete é proteger quando a asa dá uma "narigada" no chão, que o piloto que está pendurado e pendula pra frente, e a cabeça pode bater na quilha da asa (tubo central). É bastante raro o piloto bater no chão. Porém se der o azar de pousar de frente numa pedra ou toco de árvore por exemplo, aí tem o risco de bater com a cabeça... De maneira geral, a estrutura da asa funciona como uma proteção em caso de acidente, absorve a maior parte do impacto. Asa delta moderna é um esporte muito seguro! Basta ser responsável, estudar e treinar.

Nice catch! It is doubled. A black one underneath loops around itself, with a simple loop hanging the carabiner, and the light brown goes over it, with one end to the front and the other aft. I ended up leaving it this way as these extenders work on all wings I've been using, but when I flew an Atos last week I was glad I hadn't swapped my harness' hangloop for a longer one, as the fit was perfect without it.

This kind of flight is not safer at all, does require excellent control. Being this close to the ground means little time to react specially if you turn slightly downwind, and narrow room for error. This being said, if you have a bigger wing you can do it with much less wind, and depending on the shape of the dunes and size of the beach before you reach the water, it can then be very safe and even beginner friendly. Check Erica Klein videos, that is the safe version of beach flying.
@@delta_yeah OK, get a bigger, floaty wing with a low minimum sink rate like a Wills Wing Alpha 235, a lighter breeze and NO POWER LINES. Still, it looks tricky, like balancing on a bike when standing still. BTW I love those Erika Klein videos too!
