This has to be one of my favorite Joe-Dart-gets-bored-and-ramps-up-the-intricacy-of-his-bassline basslines ever. So many ramp very gradually (1612, it gets funkier) but this one is the same for lile 6 sequences and then each subsequent gets like two orders of magnitude harder. Super fun one andrew! And im not gonna get over excoted and wail on my G string during the bar with a half measure of slapping and popping anymore!
Andrew, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I was unaware of this artist/album. I even confused them at first with a similarly named disco group. Your research of this fine material is so inspiring. You always fine such wonderful songs to share with us. This one looks like a physically demanding challenge to play. Your performance though is spot on amazing. Top shelf! As always many thanks for your wonderful work.
Unique cover of a Glen Campbell song. I almost didn’t recognize it. Although I prefer the original version, in this rendition I like how the presence of the bass keeps the song moving. Thank you Andrew for always sharing such unique songs and their interesting bass parts. I always enjoy your insightful song choices.
Your channel is fascinating not just because play all of these bass lines with perfection but also, I never knew James did so much music after Motown - and with such a wide variety of artists!
thank you so much, i’m constantly surprised myself at how varied his recorded output is, i really think people underestimate how versatile he could be!
@@rokingtonbass yes, i know, now i do usually notate songs like this one in 4/4 swing, with triplets when necessary. hope it’s still ok to read, thanks for watching
This song is a salutation to bass. Thank you and congrats for the impressive performance which honors Ahmet Güvenç who created this legendary bass partition to Barış Manço's masterpiece.👏👏👏
thanks, a 10e6, for pointing out (and playing) James' perfect bass in a perfect song. no wonder, supposedly, Motown fans flocked to him, everywhere Motown went.
I love how you package togehter both the original track and then the sample both in each original arrangements.. so good.. For bass players especially rhe younger generation this is a great lesson in history, timing and melody and a constsnt flow of great lines to inspire. Lets put it this way. Play most hard rock or metal basslines solo.. more time than not a tone walking by will just hear nonsense.. not that its not nonsense in a mix. But the lines you focus on with your channel are so melodic and iconic abd teacbinf that great swing and timing.
