There aren't enough musicians of this caliber to fill a stage today. Just my humble opinion. After all these years since it came out, I still frequently listen to Briefcase Full of Blues and it remains one of the greatest albums of any genre of all time. Those were the days.
This was so totally mind-blowingly awesome when I first saw it in the movie, I have to come back to re-watch it over and over again just for the rush. To start with, with B.B. King as the lead in what is clearly an all-star "Who's who!" in music, is just incredibly amazing. I went to his concerts more than I went to see any single other performer (and "dumped" a girlfriend when I'd spent half a week's pay to buy tickets to see him and Ray Charles together, and she wouldn't go!), and he's always blown me away. But to have this incredible assemblage of superstars of the era was just beyond anything one would ever expect from even the best of musical dramas. THIS was what made BB2 more than a worthy successor to the original movie, when so many other sequels fall flat.
Watching this literally brings tears to my eyes. Getting over the fact many of these cats have now passed away. To capture that many legends on stage in a epic performance. Just don’t see this very often.
It's been 25 years since this film came out, & here's a list of all of the cast members who have died since its release: Junior Wells, 1998. Grover Washington Jr., 1999. Kathleen Freeman, 2001. Jeff Morris, 2004. Lou Rawls, 2006. Wilson Pickett, 2006. Billy Preston, 2006. James Brown, 2006. Bo Diddley, 2008. Isaac Hayes, 2008. Koko Taylor, 2009. Alan "Mr. Fabulous" Rubin, 2011. Clearance Clemmons, 2011. Donald "Duck" Dunn, 2012. B.B. King, 2014. Lonnie Brooks, 2017. Matt "Guitar" Murphy, 2018. Aretha Franklin, 2018. Dr. John, 2019.
There is zero hatred or prejudice in that room; everyone together for the love of the music no matter the background - exactly how it should be. Today - there would be enormous backlash claiming cultural appropriation.
Yep..Excellent Song..And Guess what Been Working with Bunch Of Bands Including Musician For Change and Feed The World. Seems Alot of Positive Change Happening
I especially miss b.b. my mom's first cousin, taught me how to play guitar.I would sit in when the annual Blues fest came to Greenville, Mississippi. Good times in my younger days.
The fact that Jimmy vaughn, bb king, Travis tritt, Steve winwood, Dr John, billy Preston, koko taylor, Paul shaffer.. and the beautiful horn section together is crazy
@@ninjavigilante5311 yeah and you can never gather this band since at least the half of these legends are long gone already. The movie was soso but the music is seriously superb
@@ninjavigilante5311Not crazy, that's how much respect The Blues Brothers Band (essentially the Stax Records house band, Booker T. & the MG's) have among all of these people... the careers of half of them wouldn't have existed without the five guys scoffing the band at the start of the video that practically created R&B in the 50s/60s... and are terrible actors lmao (they are some members of The MG's)
It's fun to discover who they are: behind Clapton we have Chef from "South Park," for example lol (Isaac Hayes, if you don't already know, of course)... the first movie has one heII of a band, also.

Thank you Dan aykroyd. Most of them here or now and the Lord's blues band. Thank you for putting them all together, so we have memories of good old school talent.
