B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Vaughan, Dr. John, Koko Taylor, Groover Washington Jr, Charlie Musselwhite, entre varios más en el filme The Blues Brothers 2000.
There is zero hatred or prejudice in that room; everyone together for the love of the music no matter the background - exactly how it should be. Today - there would be enormous backlash claiming cultural appropriation.
I'm so blue that that corporate music will ensure that no one can ever afford to let something like this ever happen again. That's how blue I can get...

I heard and interview with Ray Charles when the Blues Brothers movie came out. He said "These guys have done more for the Blues than any other promoter I know" I remember this time and even non Blues lovers started to go out and buy Blues albums. Many peoples careers were re-ignited. It was an amazing time.
How Blue Can You Get was originally released around 1947-48 by Johnny Moore's Three Blazers under its original title "Brokenhearted Blues, but as we all know, it became of of B.B's signature tunes
The look of pure joy in Eric Clapton's face at 4:25 is priceless! The guys he's jammed with in his long glorious career is awesome! This clearly must have been one of the best moments of his life!
The Blues Brothers Band, the band that backs Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, has members of Booker T. & the MG's, just one of the two most important R&B/soul bands on Earth (the other being The Funk Brothers) - Clapton, Steve Winwood, Dr. John never got/get tired to pay respects to all of them every chance they get - and Paul Shaffer (from Letterman's show) as musical director so their network is endless. Also, this scene is from the second movie, "Blues Brothers 2000," so by that time it was already a strong enough brand to attract people. Of course, the first one has also a respectable amount of guest musicians but this one has even more musical guests lol
They look like they are genuinely having a ball playing together. This still gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it, what a role call of talent. To have been an extra in that scene...lucky SOB's.
The fact that Jimmy vaughn, bb king, Travis tritt, Steve winwood, Dr John, billy Preston, koko taylor, Paul shaffer.. and the beautiful horn section together is crazy
@@ninjavigilante5311 yeah and you can never gather this band since at least the half of these legends are long gone already. The movie was soso but the music is seriously superb
@@ninjavigilante5311Not crazy, that's how much respect The Blues Brothers Band (essentially the Stax Records house band, Booker T. & the MG's) have among all of these people... the careers of half of them wouldn't have existed without the five guys scoffing the band at the start of the video that practically created R&B in the 50s/60s... and are terrible actors lmao (they are some members of The MG's)
It's fun to discover who they are: behind Clapton we have Chef from "South Park," for example lol (Isaac Hayes, if you don't already know, of course)... the first movie has one heII of a band, also.
The massive smile on everyone's faces just says it all. From the crowd to the musicians, so much talent on one stage and they wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Clarence Clemons passed January 11, 1942 - June 18, 2011 Bo Diddley passed December 30, 1928 - June 2, 2008 Isaac Lee Hayes passed August 20, 1942 - August 10, 2008 B. B. King passed September 16, 1925 - May 14, 2015 Billy Preston passed September 2, 1946 - June 6, 2006 Louis Rawls passed December 1, 1933 - January 6, 2006 Koko Taylor passed September 28, 1928 - June 3, 2009 Grover Washington Jr. passed December 12, 1943 - December 17, 1999
Thank you Dan aykroyd. Most of them here or now and the Lord's blues band. Thank you for putting them all together, so we have memories of good old school talent.
I especially miss b.b. my mom's first cousin, taught me how to play guitar.I would sit in when the annual Blues fest came to Greenville, Mississippi. Good times in my younger days.
BB King is now and forever indelibly and irrevocably written his name unto the heavenly holy register and forever our collective treasure as Americans and musicians and people who are just good considerate soulful folks
I was in 6th grade when I first saw this movie... Must have watched it a hundred times over the next few weeks.l with my dad who was the lead singer of a local Jazz Band... I didn't know most of these guys but I knew this was good music... It's 2018 and I have this movie as well as the first one on my laptop and I watch them whenever I want some "good feels"... The only thing missing is I wish my dad were still around to watch it with me... Good times...
Watching this literally brings tears to my eyes. Getting over the fact many of these cats have now passed away. To capture that many legends on stage in a epic performance. Just don’t see this very often.
one of the greatest assemblages of blues musos to ever hit a stage ... Hollywood can be thanked for this to amend for the billions they waste on pure bull ,,, i listen in 2018 too !!

Thank you soooo much! Some of us younger people don't know all the amazing artists that just low-key do cameos in the blues brothers movies, bur would love to know more about them! So thank you!
There aren't enough musicians of this caliber to fill a stage today. Just my humble opinion. After all these years since it came out, I still frequently listen to Briefcase Full of Blues and it remains one of the greatest albums of any genre of all time. Those were the days.
The unmatched unity of talent ever on stage at one time or movie .... that makes this the greatest music movie of all times for me! Gator boys..💖 R.I.P. to all who left us this in memory.
i remember i bought a tickets for the last show he did in paris 1 year in advance, between when i bought it and the concert i has a surgery to remove nails from my knee, that was there since 2 years, that was a very heavy surgery in order to rebuild my knee, and made me unable to walk for like 9 month and it hitted me mentally pretty hard, normally i should have been able to walk like a charm 1 month after the removal, but things too way longer than planned, and i missed this concert, i'm do angry when i think about this
This was so totally mind-blowingly awesome when I first saw it in the movie, I have to come back to re-watch it over and over again just for the rush. To start with, with B.B. King as the lead in what is clearly an all-star "Who's who!" in music, is just incredibly amazing. I went to his concerts more than I went to see any single other performer (and "dumped" a girlfriend when I'd spent half a week's pay to buy tickets to see him and Ray Charles together, and she wouldn't go!), and he's always blown me away. But to have this incredible assemblage of superstars of the era was just beyond anything one would ever expect from even the best of musical dramas. THIS was what made BB2 more than a worthy successor to the original movie, when so many other sequels fall flat.
I gave you a brand new Ford But you said, "I want a Cadillac!" I bought you a $10 dollar dinner You said, "Thanks for the snack!" I let you live in my penthouse You said, "It was just a shack!" I gave you 7 children Now you wanna give em back! Damn that woman is cold blooded. I let my son watch this and he loves this song. The first time he watched it he said, "A $10 dollar dinner isn't much!" I told him back when this song was written and first recorded a $10 dollar dinner would've been like eating in a gourmet restaurant with fancy waiters.
I don't know why they don't list the entire line-up here. Stevie Windwood and Billy Preston on keys. One of the greatest drummers in the world, Jack Dejohnette. Killer horn section. They list the entire band in the credits of the Blues Brothers 2000 movie.
