Hi @KevinClark-f5p, the battery life of our Arlo Essential Spotlight camera is up to 6 months with average use. Average use assumes that you are using the Optimized or Best Battery Life Power Management settings and that your cameras record less than three minutes per day. Increasing the length, quality, or quantity of video recordings decreases your battery life. Our solar panels can be used to keep the battery of your camera charged, but not to fully charged if it's flat. The solar panel is a great, low-maintenance solution for outdoor camera installations in hard-to-reach areas. Please be aware that although our solar panels are designed to keep your Arlo camera’s battery fully charged, heavy usage of your camera can drain the camera battery faster than the solar panel can recharge it. The solar panel model designed for the Arlo Essential Spotlight camera model is the VMA3600. Hi @user-ru1cq9ij8c, the battery charging status of your Arlo camera can be viewed in the Arlo Secure app by launching the app and tapping "Devices". The battery level displays on the bottom of the device card. Battery level is also displayed on the Device Settings screen. Hi @chubeviewer, No, our products cannot be integrated with digital video recorders and cannot be used with third-party apps; all of our products can only be set up and used through either our Arlo Secure app (for Android and iOS) or our web portal (my.arlo.com). However, when synced to an Arlo base station or SmartHub, our cameras - including the Arlo Essential Spotlight model - can record to a local storage device free of charge. With a VMB4000, VMB4500, or VMB4540 base station/SmartHub: local storage available on a USB device. With a VMB5000 SmartHub: local storage available on a microSD card. I'm from Brazil and I purchased the kit of 3 Arlo Essential XL 2gen cameras. Unlike what is shown in the video, my app does not show a 2gen option. I saw in the comments that many people also had the same problem, but I was unable to resolve it through the answers given.

Hi @fabiohmprudente, our new Arlo Essential Spotlight 2nd Generation camera may still not be currently supported in Brazil. For compatibility and technical reasons, we always recommend purchasing an Arlo product in the country in which you intend to use it. The Arlo Secure mobile app displays all supported devices that can be installed on your account. Devices that were not launched in the specified region will not be available in the app. We advise you to get in touch with your reseller for further help. Arlo Team

I got your Wired Arlo Essential Doorbell Camera and it was a HUGE mistake!!! You make it sound so easy to install this camera if you already have a wired doorbell but it’s NOT!! You need a chime that produces 16-24v but in UK there are no chimes that operates on that voltage!! I have now contacted Byron to try and find out if the Ding Dong can accommodate the higher voltage if I bypass their transformer. Byron’s chimes operate around 8V so I would supply at least double the voltage to the Ding Dong… Before I did this I messaged your support that still haven’t replied after 5 days which is utterly ridiculous!!! Your website is useless since you can’t get ANY info or help and the app don’t give anything either. It’s even so bad that every time I try to read an article about something regarding this stupid device it takes me back to same page that do absolutely nothing for me except I have to choose which device I want help with!!!! So I can’t get further help!! I have now wasted a lot of money on a stupid useless device unless Byron confirms that I can use double the voltage on the Ding Dong! I have spent several days to try and resolve the power supply because you (Arlo) are useless and I have tried to get help from you!!! I even asked for a terminal diagram for the enclosed transformer Arlo AUBT1-5 so I know what connector is for what since the printed diagram on the transformer is so confusing…. But you didn’t even send me that!!!! Rings transformer are so easy to understand and which connector to use for what, but you truly make it so hard!!! I have your Arlo 2 Cameras and even they do things I have setup NOT to do!!! So many hundreds of pounds spent on your products and you say they are so easy to use and setup but they aren’t!!!!!! It’s easier to build new houses or commercial buildings than getting your products to work properly or to install because you’re so cheap and don’t include manuals for your products!!!! Instead the customer must use your stupid app to try and get the information from there and the app don’t give it!!!!! If you read this then send me a link to a 16-24V chime that is available on the UK market and the manual for the transformer Arlo AUBT1-5 that was supplied with my doorbell camera from you!!! The Power Kit has no instructions either and all you say is that it must be installed but you don’t say where to connect it or which setting to use for it!!! I’m truly so fed up dealing with this stupid doorbell camera from you!!!!!!

You may also need the wall anchors if you're mounting the doorbell on drywall, brick, or tile. Our Arlo Essential Video Doorbells cannot be directly secured to a wall via screws without the mounting plate. @@ArloSmartHomeUK Hi, what j meant was, of course I’m using the mounting plate, but what drill bit (mm) do I need for the screws? The process doesn’t tell me this. It only says to use 6mm drill bits using the wall anchors but I’m not using them, I just want to use the screws.

My old door bell works prior to removing. After installing my Arlo, there's no power to the Arlo door bell. (note, i never shut down the power at the circuit box at anytime)

Concerning the magnetic mounting - is the whole back side of the camera magnetic? Meaning, instead of placing the camera in the magnetic mount at the bottom / backside like always shown - can I use the top / backside of the camera instead?

Hi, to charge the Arlo Essential Spotlight camera via the included micro-USB cable, it is not necessary to turn it off. You must just dismount your camera and bring it indoors to charge it with the included charging cable. After the charging is complete, and the cable unplugged, the camera should go back online on its own. Before we add new camera we need to scroll to the bottom and click Add new device Then we can add new camera. Try telling ALL of it and not assuming we just know what to do.

Very disappointed with this product, purchased Arlo door bell and the chime since I purchased it I have problem with it the chime is not connected and the door bell battery last only for 10 days, I have complained about this product and contacted customer service but they are terrible they never solve the problem and refused to exchanged it and I have warranty I don’t recommend this product to anyone you will waste your money and time if this product gets faulty

Hi, our cameras need to be set up individually, regardless if they're being directly connected to a Wi-Fi network, or to an Arlo SmartHub. You can choose to set up all three cameras or just one or two of them. The video doesn't show how to open the camera and insert the battery! One other video mentions a security key to get the case off the camera, but one wasn't included. The App showed pressing the release button and it isn't where the app show you. You shouldn't have skipped this step.

The mount does not come screwed together like in all the Arlo videos I keep finding. All the “installation” videos just show someone screwing in an assembled mount to a wall but that’s not how the product is sold - the mount does not come assembled. There’s no written assembly instructions that come with the physical product either. How do you expect people to assemble the mount???

Hi, the battery must always be inserted in the Video Doorbell to operate, even if you hardwire the doorbell to existing doorbell wiring. When you hardwire the doorbell, you connect it to continuous trickle charging. This means that the battery is used while the doorbell is active, and the battery is gradually charged while the doorbell is inactive. Scans, chime, but than can't find it. Why does that even need to take place if it needs to connect to the cloud? Wifi router spots the device for a few minutes and then it's gone because that last step fails. Also during calls there is an echo loop. Worthless.

If you have an existing wired doorbell then you are in for some pain. The camera will not work with UK door chimes out of the box (voltage too low), and good luck finding an adequate 24v door chime in the UK. I have no way of laying in new cables to the door bell. I either use the video door bell and ditch the mechanical door bell (replace the transformer) or ditch the new video door bell and carry on using the mechanical door bell. Seriously disappointing that this was not apparent at the point of sale on Amazon.

Your “support” don’t reply after a support ticket has been raised!! I have waited for several days and heard NOTHING, I submitted my ticket on 30 Jan 2024 and it’s now 4 February 2024 and still NO answer!!! Hello, I am trying to set up 3 Arlo Essential Spotlight cameras and they will not connect to my network. I have confirmed that my router is set up for 2.4 GHz and it is working properly. When I go to add a device, it does the chiming sound but it never adds to my network, it just keeps spinning. I have waited for 20 mins and nothing, any ideas? Thank you!

Stay far away from arlo Cameras, trust me when I say it's a nightmare. Support is non existent, you have to call up the president of united states to get there customer service phone number, and even then you have to have someone in the government agency to confirm, and then you need to give them your right leg and left arm, and both your eye balls, after that you will have there illiterate chat reps who are at home playing sega or playstation and they will tell you they will email you with results because your interfering with there game time, Then they transfer you to someone else who are in India and you can not understand nothing they say, they tell you to do all this stuff that you already did 100 times. Then after all that and 9 hours later they tell you that your better off just taking our product back and get your money back.
