I can do it with my two hands 🙌
@TheSteadicamMan

@@klubcj Yet your hands transmit your body movement and footsteps into the shot. The Steadicam arm isolates those from the camera, and the sled adds much longer reach in every direction.

Maybe theres a reason for it, But couldn't you mount the monitor to the chest plate at a perfect viewing height and angle, like a hands free harmonica, and then free that left hand up?
@TheSteadicamMan
@TheSteadicamMan День назад
@@evzevz06 The left hand controls the physical position and height of the Steadicam, so it always stays there, unrelated to the monitor.

Do you have some of the components that you can name and what you used as if we wanted to try and replicate what you have created? I love the features of the shoulder mount which is what I use with a regular high end video camera. Would love to have something similar for a DSR or smaller video cameras.

how did you make the braket that attaches to the steadicam?
@TheSteadicamMan

I designed it on a piece of paper, then went to my local blacksmith who made CAD design before making the bracket from a piece of steel.

Superb idea, as I safely say using the dual handle grip from Tilta was not cutting it for me on a 10 hour shoot. The shoulder mount version seems like a cool idea to take the weight off the arms.

I'm currently experimenting with a rs3 mini version. Its more of a toy than a professional rig, but as a result its incredibly lightweight, compact, and conspicuous. Wouldn't use it for a professional shoot, but its kind of perfect for run and gun videos or as a second camera for low budget weddings and livestreams

Hello! Thanks for the video… could you post the part used to configure this mode? (Without steadicam of course). How the ronin get power? If you go trough low mode to normal mode is it possible to control easily the vertical position of the camera changing its position during the shooting? (Like joystick)

Hi John, we would like to use a Sony Fs7 on a Zephyr and i see you power your Sony through the Lemo-XLR cable on the XDCA. Is this a original Tiffencable ( 0B 3-Pin (male) Lemo to 4-Pin XLR (female)? Or maybe Alvins or Ignite cable? I find the Tiffen site not always as clear in the supplied information.
@TheSteadicamMan
@TheSteadicamMan 6 месяцев назад
Yes it's the original cable. A cheap multimeter will end all your worries about pin-outs!

Can you post some unedited footage shot with this rig? I'm curious if the bounce typically found with handheld gimbals is minimized by laying it horizontally.

It looks like the middle section is "locking up", John. It could be to do with orientation or twist, or a combination. The same thing happened to master arms when back mounted.
@TheSteadicamMan
@TheSteadicamMan 6 месяцев назад
It was yes, that was the section I added, so presumably most prone to twist or adverse pressure. I might swap the sections around and see if it still happens.

❤love you rig it looks lighter than my Zhiyun Cranes 3s rig on a Steadicam Vest and ARM, now you have given me an idea what to build next, but when I build your rig, am going to Add a handle on the right hand side for a hand grip by using the NATO Rail on the RS 2 😉

I also have the advanced ring from Tilta and therefore the control handle but where did you get the connector for the control handle to Nato rail? as Tilta don't sell it separately? Its included in the 2 Handed grip but you would have to buy the whole kit.Excellent Video BTW.
@TheSteadicamMan
@TheSteadicamMan 8 месяцев назад
Not a NATO rail, it’s my RS2 rear handle with a 1/4” thread at the back that I just screwed into one of the attachments that came with the Tilta handle.

This rig is insanely brilliant ! Some how if there is a cheese plate to mount the gimbal that with 15mm rod clamp it can be one option too , and probably can addon additional screw and quarter thread screw for light.

Why on Earth are you using the tiny camera monitor as your main monitor when you’ve got a ninja behind you?
@TheSteadicamMan
@TheSteadicamMan 8 месяцев назад
The Ninja out in front added more front heaviness, and I can see the camera monitor perfectly where it is. Easy enough to move it if visibility becomes an issue. The camera monitor is bigger and better than most I've used for the last 20 years, so I can cope with it very well.
