Fell asleep to my RU-vid favorites and this eventually came up. Woke up at 3:16 AM to this: 19:24 and it scared the everloving shit out of me. So it absolutely has the intended effect

Something about the fact that the way he shades faces still looks pretty good as his dementia worsens, even as he forgets how to draw a face, is so eerie to me. Knowing how to add shadows to the ears and eyes, highlighting the chin and lines on your face even as you barely know where any of it is on your own face is so unsettling to me in a way I can't really explain. Not to say that he didn't also lose those skills too, it's just obvious what he was forgetting more :(
Lyrics: "Well a very, very hev-eh, uh, hev-eh doouh- bertation tonight. we had a very daarse darison- *catches breath* bite- and lets go ahead and tarrich tason those schbeck eh-hegbuhbeh."
This video as well as anything else having to do with EATEOT fills me with so much unnecessary existential dread, especially since i dont experience dread this much. For context: i am going to college to major in art, as its something ive been extremely passionate about for as long as i can remember. Just the thought of slowly losing the ability to do the very thing that means so much to me, as well as the basic ability to just exsist is the most terrifying thing to me imaginable. On top of that, its also very likely that im neurodivergent, and neurodivergent people have higher chances of getting dementia in older age than neurotypical people. I dont even understand why i worry about it this much when im only 18 years old. I might not even get it when im older, or there might even be treatments or a cure for it by the time im old enough to really worry about dementia.
The final sketch of his doesn’t only imply he forgot who he was and how to draw or relate to himself, but also he forgot how to relate to humanity. The sketch shows a lack of understanding of human anatomy with the face and all, which used to be there despite his deteriorating state. To him, he drew himself, a human the best he could. Was that what he saw in everyone?
