Hei Chester do a video about Ekovest Cheras & Cheras leisure mall. Give ur thoughts. Also do video for on Amcorp mall, Subang parade also. Other videos also is Shaw Parade @ Pudu, Pudu plaza mall & F&N mall directly beside Chan Sow Lin lrt station
i remember during school days, when we have KL rombongan, we always beg teacher to come here, this is during late 90s to early 2000s. when I was in university i often come here jalan2 & makan2 after visiting lowyat for PC parts, finding new handphone, watching anime kids cosplaying. Been there recently, quite sad, so much good memories
Frankly I think the rental cost kills the mall it self, the location is strategic but due to this mall owners think they can hike up rents, is just too expensive to rent, they have just kill the tenants / retailers or the whole industries and made online retailer more favourable. (My personal opinion)
Yep.. its an abandoned mall now. But im still going there once in a while during lunch hour to eat at this one amazing chinese muslim restaurant. Surprisingly its still packed with people around the food court area. But the upper floors, its all dead
Subang resident here 👋 The Summit USJ was one of the malls my family used to frequent back in the early 2000s but slowly it started fading away & there were some dodgy massage parlours with scantily clad women waiting for patrons (This definitely led to negative perception amongst the Subang Jaya community). Furthermore, there are just too many malls not only in Subang Jaya but especially in the Klang Valley.
Nowadays most of the malls in KL & PJ they're more or less the same punya, we always see Daiso, Mr DIY, McD, KFC, Starbucks, Coffee Bean, 7-Eleven, Family Mart & blah, blah, blah ... 😝. The only place I love to visit is Kinokuniya @ Suria KLCC because they import Nihon stuff directly from Nippon not via local suppliers like other stores, that's the reason why they've an exclusive Japanese book section where all their books, mags, mangas & collectibles not available elsewhere. All the stuff here're Made In Japan! Even Isetan department store relies on local suppliers only for Japanese products. Now I should say, Kinokuniya is a true Nihonjin concept bookstore. Sugoidesu ne! 😲
Even though Lalaport is a Nihon concept mall but I didn't see many Nippon stuff in it. My home got tons of things from Japan such as mangas, mags, animes, omochas, CDs, DVDs & etcs. They should bring in J-pop idol stores such as AKB48 merchandise concept shop, Japanese toy specialty collector store, scale model kit factory based shop such as Tamiya or Hasegawa, audio/video shop specialized in Japanese music/movie/series hard to find in Malaysia & many more etcs. I noticed they have mostly general stores & some not even Japan related, they're selling American/China/Korean brand products. I'm an Otaku & have been influenced by Nihonjins since my childhood. Even when I was a baby, my late Mom used to feed me with Morinaga brand milk powder, played with Kawada building toys & wears Casio watches till today. Japan is actually part of my daily life, you people don't know what's the true meaning of The Land Of The Rising Sun. Watashi wa Nihon ga daisukidesu! 😻😍👍
I love to visit malls to scout for my favorite toyz since my childhood days. My late parents used to bring me to malls during weekends for leisure fun time. I still love to see physical stuff in stores rather than shop online. Early this year just took a stroll @ Lalaport, it felt very eerie inside. It was pretty hot sunny day & the moment I entered, it felt sudden coldness engulfing me. People say it's haunted due to the history of the hotspot. Even though it's just opened about 2 years only, I witnessed there're many vacant shoplots inside with less crowds even on weekends. It's definitely a big failure compared to its neighbors such as Times Square, Pavilion KL & Low Yat (used to work here from 2004 - 2015). It took me less than 1 hour to scope the entire mall & nothing much interesting just like walking in a cemetary park. Hopefully Zepp Hall & KLP48 can bring in more crowds to it with more live music performances. Nihonjins have taken a big gamble to invest on a bad feng shui land. GANBARIMASU!!! 😎
if i recall the LG floor once had a Mos Burger outlet .....maybe you should check out Atria if you haven`t done a vid on that place .. foot traffic there also kinda bad
I also stayed at USJ 6 in the early 20s. I frequent this mall regularly, but never enjoyed it. IMO the problem with this mall is the multi stories tall structure (like berjaya time square). This kind of mall is old fashion and not preferred by many because they have to go up the escalator many times. In addition, most of the shops sell cheap, bazaar quality kind of products, not something that the subang crowd prefer.
GEM Banana Leaf contract was terminated by Palazzo management for reasons known to themselves. It appears the Mall management isn't really interested in promoting the Mall. Also there was bitter infighting between two parties.
It's the GSC cinema that is keeping Summit USJ Mall alive. USJ19 Mall is WORSE - a DEAD Mall literally. The problem is the shop lots are owned by individual owners. Many owners don't place priority to rent out.
This brings back memory, I used to travel or visit here to buy DVDs here, they have a good kopitiam back then (can't remember the name), video games CD etc. maybe okay 15 years back.
NSK Grocer is their attempt to fight Jaya Grocer n Village so it's not too bad. Unless if NSK Trade City, yes that mall/place gonna degraded to a pasar borong. USJ OneCity is a good example.
Any pubs in this mall. If there is pubs then we will visit this mall soon. Central Market in those days had the River Bank and the Central market always did well those days as the patrons will visits all the stall b4 or after drinks there.
I think Summit USJ need to undergo redevelopment in another 10 years time. I request you todo Evolve Mall and Maisson by The Park Ara Damansara. Space U8 and Plaza Prima OKR.
