Hey, I have a 03 cl type S 6 speed with navigation that I’ll be looking to sell in the near future. Sliver, 67k miles, no accidents. If you know anyone in the community looking for a great example, let me know. Thanks
Dang it! Now I want to step out of the Uber and go take my CL for a quick rip. Chances are I'll get another ride while I'm doing that though hahaha. I guess I'll have to wait a few hours before I drive home
Hi Ty, have you ever had issue with your CL stalling on the road?. I happened to me the first time in 21 years. I'm the original owner of CLS6. I was driving on highway then got off on to local road then came to a stop light and it stalled. Started backup but kept stalling on every lights. Then the engine's light came on. I had it towed to garage and the next day the mechanic said it start up as nothing had happened. Very strange.
I have a cl6 and a 98 accord. On my accord that happened and it was the ignition switch. Could be something else though...fuel pressure regulator/fuel pump/main relay? Check engine lights? Plugs/coils? Alternator charging battery?
Always start on the diagnostic clues. Do you have a check engine light? If so, most auto part stores will scan them for free. Does it happen when it's hot? Does it happen during certain situations? Common problems worth looking at: -IACV leak -Main Fuel Relay -Vacuum Leak -Ignition switch Thanks for watching!
@@acura2g Mechanic did a scan only found EGR code. So I have him replaced fuel pump, fuel relay (2nd one). I took off throttle body and EGR valve and clean them. Replaced all 6 coils & spark plugs. Vacuum tested and it's fine. The weather that day was in the 70's one day in early April this year. That was the only time it happened...I'll keep a eye on it and make sure to record everything next time. Thank you for your response.
Master relay switch under drivers dash. RU-vid the video. If it was hotter than 80 or if car was sitting in sun with windows up before you got in could be the answer. Had that happen with my 01 before and I got a relay and it worked. Seemed to only happen on super hot days with windows up in sun
Excellent video! I just purchased an oil separator for my ‘15 Mustang GT and the lines are rubber like this but, one is too long and pinched off from the extreme bend. I’m going to shorten that line and getting a custom bend with no kinks will be perfection. Have you done a video with some of the newer tubings? They might be even easier to make these bends.
@@acura2g Not silicone, although that would be another option. I’m referring to the poly type vacuum lines used on newer vehicles. They kind of look plastic but, are very strong walled.
This is awesome! I was planning on exploring this option of rebuilding one of these on my own, instead of buying an eBay one, but hadn't gotten around to it yet. Thanks for the video!
Fairly simple process for a rebuild. Most of the time it's just the voltage regulator that fails. The kit purchased in the video comes with everything you need except for a rectifier but the same company sells that too if you require it
I got mine on tein flex z coilovers got 2inches lowered in back and and 2.75 inches in front , my ball joint I swap them every 1 1/2 year since roads are messed up ain't letting it get to me ever 😂, second 02 tl type s and now some issues but not all
Ty, I purchased the 303 Protectant locally, and treated my dash to help prevent cracking. I ordered the Shin Etsu for the seals and plan to use it too. Thanks for your tips to help keep my Legend in showroom condition.
Ty, great new format! Much improved. Just out of curiosity how long did the rack take you to do? I just had mine done for $700 in labor. Last summer I replaced all steering and suspension components. The new rack made a huge difference. I bought the car new and I was told the car was in an accident because caster was out of spec and I had to school the ASE mechanic about adding shims to the radius arms. That made no sence to him so I went to anither shop and he dropped the subframe and he was able to make the caster adjustment by moving the subframe slightly after installing the rebuilt rack. The car drives great now just like it did in May 2002 when I purchased it new. How is testing going on the new transmission mounts? I would love to replace mine. Keep up the great work!
Hey TY I have a question been having AC issues for the past couple of years that nobody seems to know how to fix The AC compressor will not engage when pushing the ac button inside replaced ac relay the compressor and the system is charged but I am able to get it to work by jumping the tri switch on the line basically I been told I have a bad ground but nobody seems to know the remedy to fix that thanks for any feedback
oil filter is actually made by Fram and is basically is the TG7317, Oddly enough when my ridgeline was had it's dealer free oil changes, the dealer used on Precision Parts PPG4612 which basically is a smaller sized but still decent filter like ST6607. When I did my A13 maintained and cut it open I found it to be decent filter, however was unsure of its micron rating or milage specs couldn't find that. so I assumed it followed the PG4612 filter which is similar but only a 5k filter. when I changed my Trans mission fluid I did just a drain and fill using Idemitsu type H+ (HONDA Z1, DW1) which I believe is who makes HONDA ATF-DW1. I skipped the inline filter but will change it next time. now I know you may not like that I used Idemitsu ATF, I know not to use anything other then DW1 or those multi car formula like Valvoline MaxLife Full Sync ATF. don't ask me how I KNow, I used it once on a Honda Odyssey, and after about a month I went back to DW1 and a big shifting quality difference. since you changed the Filter the number of qtrs. need will be more then 3.3 qts and like around 4 qts. my Ridgeline is a 2019 RTL 2 wheel drive gr8 vid
The fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor or vent sensor is located in the back on a bracket in front of the charcoal canister. It's a bit hard to explain because there is a lot in that area, sorry.
Damn man I’ve been living under one hell of a rock! I was wondering why Loft hadn’t been uploading for half a year now. I had no idea he had died. RIP Loftanese, you were the reason I bought a CLS6 as my first car.
A bad ABS pump would throw a fault code for the ABS system and the ABS would not work. Calipers locking up is likely a seized caliper piston and would be unrelated.
Hi Ty do you work on legends for customers I have 95 I am having idle issue with it I live ct I would love to bring it too you if that’s something you do ?
Man now you’ve got me thinking about protecting all my oem green tint glass. Having to replace with aftermarket glass would suck. Thanks for the grease tip I just went on Amazon and bought some. I’ve got a cls6speed silver, black interior with navigation that’s extremely clean. I’ll be uploading some content soon.
I’m having problems with mines too. The radiator fans don’t engage when the temperature rises pass operating temperature leading to overheating. The fans work when I turned the ac on so I need by fans work. I deemed the fan relay but I decided to check the coolant temp sensor. I unplugged it and plug it back in while it was overheating and the fans engaged! So I order a new coolant temp sensor and some electrical contact cleaner.
The XPEL windshield trick is brilliant! Gotta look out for these windshields (and other parts) now that everything is discontinued. Nice to see the coupe out getting some sunlight & miles! I look forward to seeing it at NALM - and if I'm lucky, maybe going for a ride in it again! Agreed on Aero 303 and Shin Etsu - great products.
The 3m polyethylene is fabulous. You could fix the broken bushing. You just have to clean it up good and align up to the center. I've done one and still running strong at 60k miles.
