iPaintSmallThings is a place where I paint small things. Hopefully gonna show you all how I paint small things! Or how I print small things? You get the idea.
Yeah not too bad. The layer lines could probably be minimized with some filler primer on something that big and flat. It wouldn't hurt to try, at least.
My rule of thumb for magnetising is the other way around. I have the Negative showing on the vehicle/body because it's 'missing' something; then I put the Positive showing on the weapon/arm/etc because it 'adds' to the body/vehicle.
Too bad I can't like this video 100 times :( Best tutorial for this job, i saw a lot of videos but they were too old or the tool doesn't work like i needed. I have a complex stl that I need to split to print it and this video taught me everything I needed! Thankyou
You got a sale for the Kickstarter, even though I am not a fan of the Chimera style APC, this one has the flexibility that makes it a must buy. The STL price is great too😊
Honestly, the clearest and quickest guide there is on how to split objects in Blender. Complete newbie here but this guide is the only one that explains how to do it. Great work!
@@iPaintSmallThings i tried a couple of minis with the stock filament and 0.1 layer and i was surprised of how well they looked, the only problem is that some details are lost. a better filament like Sunlu PLA meta seems to be the best for the detail, and manually setting up the supports to minimize surface contact. but it seems to be completely doable now, unlike 3 or 5 years ago.
@@Badbufon I'll make sure to try some sunlu PLA then! Yeah-- the bulk of my FDM experience comes from like 8 years ago when printing a mini wasn't possible. Wild times haha
Hey, I'm looking at this 3D printed Bolter you made, and the glue isn't sticking on the bottom of the magazine. Otherwise, cool gun. Craig broke the charging handle off.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dLWAF5igE6Y.html this may help with that! If you want it symmetrical-- add a "mirror" modifier on the plane you make after you give it thickness with "solidify!"
I took inspiration from your video to paint a killa kan, it was very pleasant, quite fast and good looking. Cant wait to paint the other 2! Thanks a lot!
I really appreciate it! Unfortunately, since I used a bunch of other peoples (station forge corrupted guard line mainly) stuff-- I can't give them away/sell them!
This looks so damn good, I might try this on my Dark Angels. Although I fear cloth this textured might clash with the overall style of a Space Marine. Maybe as ghillie camo cloaks on phobos marines if I add some moss and leaves to them?
Thank you! You could try using something like printer paper (on a random model/bit of terrain to test it first), so it wouldn't have texture! But yeah the texture would probably look a little out of place for a clean space marine. That would look really cool! I made a desert camo cloak sorta like that on this Fallout Marine (instagram.com/p/C7elZP0Ol2I/)
nicely done! ur gonna need a splinter channel specifically for the tracks you make for these videos (link the music for this video in the description wthhh)
Easy enough to follow. I do a slightly different process after splitting the part. I follow up with a sphere to create a ball-and-socket connection. That way I can put in something from the bits box without a flat connection.
OUTSTANDING easy to follow tutorial, I have managed to repeatedly slice models following your steps, thank you. Is it possible to connect a bisect path, for eample say you started at top of arm like you did, but only move bisect half way down the have the next bisect slice all the way to the right?
Wow thank you-- that's awesome to hear! Actually my next tutorial should show how to do that (but it's basically ~2:30 in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tA-J-HYlKkI.htmlsi=38Wb-G8Oh9FqAHyb). These days I use a plane, give it a little thickness with a solidify modifier, and then use boolean difference to cut with that object.
