Been loving your blender tutorials. Any tips or plans for a video on how to cut out parts that are more difficult like things besides limbs that are just sticking out?
I appreciate it! What I do is tediously try to separate the part or cut out big chunks with boolean differences (probably not the best way to do it). My scab gunner video shows what I'm talking about (~1:00). I cut out the guys head using boolean difference and a sphere and then separating by loose parts! Again there are probably easier ways to do this-- but that's what I do.
I posted this in another video, but this seems even more fitting for this comment: "Honestly, the idea of using blender for 3d kit bashing was revolutionary to me. I thought "It must be possible and someone must have done it". And it was indeed. I am very much into female 40k minis, but I like to have them "properly" dressed, which is not the ... eh... general phillosophy of most slts. With these tools I can just take the best part of the kits I have bought, and remove the worst parts. For example, I have combat heels. I hate most booby armours (there are some types that are actually sensical, but for most part they are just ... ug). I can just change those parts and get exactly what I need, without being a professional sculptor. I am going to start to learn Blender for this. Wow I really appreciate hearing that! I agree that the great part of 3D kitbashing is being able to change models to fit your vision in your head without some huge bits box or intense sculpting skills. Good luck and thank you very much for the comment!
