Thank you, Linda, for showing us ways we can still do the things we enjoyed before diagnosis! You are so smart and creative❤️ I worried that the Conair facial was like a mini humidifier so it went bye- bye. But like your machine, mine was also an antique 😆 So I look forward to buying a brandnew one. It’s very reasonably priced so I have no guilt HA
You make a good point Susan. It’s important that we don’t overdo eliminating activities we enjoy. Instead we should be creative and find workarounds. ❤Linda
YES! I like to read or watch television while I nebulize and use my Acapella/Aerobica, but I find myself breathing very shallowly when I do that, so sometimes (if I remember) I stand up when I nebulize. It makes a big difference!
I’ve tried them all and I think Nutritist Refluxter is the best of the alginate supplements. They are capsules so easy to take and have more sodium alginate than the others.
@@BECLEARwithBronchiectasis no problem I have had LPR for many years and so I’m always trying to learn about new treatments and like to share if I find something good.
Hi Todd! If if you have bronchiectasis you should care. It’s how bacteria can get into our lungs. No one lives in a bubble, but we can do our best to protect ourselves. I had a nasty MAC infection from soil dust that I was able to get rid of without antibiotics. But generally, the treatment is three antibiotics for at least a year. Absolutely no fun. That’s why many of us DO care❤Linda
I have the Aerobika but didn’t know you could use it with a nebulizer Are there certain types of nebulizer that you can use the Aerobika with or will any device work If they have to be a certain type of nebulizer which do you recommend I have very severe emphysema and bronchiectasis Sone days I find it very difficult to use the Aerobika so this looks ideal for me I have salbutamol and also saline
Thank you Linda, this is very informative and helpful going forward with healthy showers. Myself, I shower with large shower head holes and very tepid water, almost cool, but I got used to it and try very hard to limit my time. Again, great to hear you!
It’s for baby bottles. I am away from my home now so when I get back, I’ll check, but I never thought to look for filter or whether I had to change of filter. Will check it out!
It’s very flexible. It depends on if you are just sterilizing or sterilizing and drying. For sterilizing and drying the cycle can go as long as 60 minutes.
I scrub it with a bottle brush and put the top in my UV sterilizer. I periodically take the whole thing apart and clean it. It’s not a perfect approach, but I’m OK with it. One of these days we will hopefully have better ways to deal with these issues.❤
No, I am a personal trainer with good lung function. However, I do recommend it for people who are short of breath and deconditioned. Have you been to pulmonary rehab Sheila?
@@BECLEARwithBronchiectasis I am going to start in August. I'm very much short of breath. I used to walk just about every day. When covid started I was still walking just less. Then I noticed out of breath easy. Have to stop and rest. Skin rashes. Next thing I know I'm seeing Pulmonologist, function test. CT scans. Now infectious disease doctor. I see him again next month after another CT scan. The scary part is at end of appointment he said to let him know if I get any new rashes. I'm so scared and depressed. Thinking has this all been linked together. The rashes, the lack of energy and the weight loss. Sorry this is so long. I enjoy your videos and look forward to them. Just so depressed.
When you go to a doctor who specializes in bronchiectasis, on an annual basis, you often get Pulmonary Function tests. They are done without albuterol and then with albuterol. If the albuterol makes a significant difference, then you would either use an inhaler or nebulize albuterol before hypertonic saline. For me, albuterol does not make a difference so I don’t use it. I do have a rescue inhaler in case I’m ever traveling and get sick but I think it’s expired because I haven’t needed to use it. However, with bronchiectasis things can always change over time.❤️Linda
I have bronciatrasis and ver severe emphysema so breathing for me can be very difficult I also have severe osteoporosis and early last yr I had two severe wedge fractures at T 6/7 So have not done any exercises in over a yr My muscle are very weak and all I do are heel drops when I can because there’s don’t make me breathless My calf muscles are a little firmer but not not The skin around them has become very flabby but that is muscle loss to I have been watching your other video and like them allot But as we are on the excersize I will ask my questions on this Are theses safe for my back I could no where near life my legs as high as you have and realise I would have to build my way up to this but I’m worried about fracturing my back again What would your opinion be for me to try theses I do not normally lay flat because of my breathing and even sleep in a reclining position quite upright to help breath I also have gerd and stopped taking pills that have been given me because I now believe theses pill can contribute to osteoporosis which were omaprazole so now I use gaviscon and will occasionally take the pill if acid gets really bad which is now lanzoprazole because I’m on blood thinner through having a stroke and so the omaprazole was change I will comment on the nebulizer and saline on your other video which demonstrates them Thank you for sharing
Good information as usual. I have a steri pen in my bathroom as well. Have not used it because I never know when the water is sterile after having stirred it with steri pen.
Hi Debra! Do you have an Aerobika? The device on the end is an Aeroeclipse nebulizing cup. It is powered by an Ombra compressor. My RU-vid channel has other longer videos on these. Yes, you breathe in mist from the nebulizer and while you exhale, you activate the Aerobika.
Hi Debra! The device at the end is a nebulizing cup. It creates mist that you inhale. Check out my other videos because there’s more detailed information on this.
Yes! Both the RefluxRaft and RefluxGourmet can be purchased on Amazon. With the reflux gourmet you might want to get the little packets. They’re very handy.
Thanks for this information Linda. I brought the Gourmet back home *Toronto, from San Diego, but it was confiscated at the Airport. Can these be purchased on Amazon?
Thank you. Great video. Been hesitant on getting this system. VA Supplies my tools. I have a phillips incourage which is not possible to travel with. I thought you had to boil it everyday so that was one reason didn't get. Bit once a week i can handle. Thank you. Where can I order the set?
Not sure if my reply post it. Happy you found it helpful and it was so nice seeing you on the support group zoom. I usually use Save Rite www.saveritemedical.com/products/ombra-120v-table-top-nebulizer-compressor-system

Soap and water is very powerful! And then sterilizing once a week is always advisable. Great seeing you on our support group zoom! Keep up all your good work and let me know if you have questions, Linda
A respiratory therapist told me that i should only blow out with aerobika. So take a deep breath, hold put mouth on aerobika and blow out. Have you heard this?
I’ve heard of it. And it’s not a problem if you want to do it that way. But it’s not what the company recommends. They also offer the option of attaching a nebulizer so in that situation, you’re always inhaling while you were exhaling. Again, it really depends on what you prefer. 💕Linda
@@BECLEARwithBronchiectasis I was following directions in booklet. Then he tells me this. He also said to just rinse mouthpiece daily and rest of aerobika once a week. It's so confusing.
