My name is Mahak Jain and I am a dentist trained both in India and USA and I am very thankful for this wonderful opportunity. I have been practicing in US since 2017.
There is a lot to learn in dentistry and I do not consider myself an expert on it.
This channel is to help new graduates, dental students with their dental related questions.
This channel also focuses on helping foreign trained dentists in their journey from BDS to DDS/DMD specially focusing on bench test preparation related questions
Hello, Hi Mam, I was watching a video on RU-vid when I saw your channel. I really like your video content. But as a RU-vid expert, I noticed one thing: your video views are getting less and less. Then I researched your channel and found that your video's SEO score is very bad. Your video and I see that your video is not SEO optimized because your video is not for the targeted audience, your video gets fewer views and channel subscribers get less views. I can say that as a RU-vid expert, if you can do SEO friendly things for your channel and videos like searching for tags, hashtags, descriptions and keywords then your RU-vid channel and videos will be develop rapidly. I think your RU-vid channel will make your dream come true. Thank you"
No I am not an owner dentist. Can I ask why are you so interested in my professional profile? Is there anything particular you want to understand through this line of questioning?
Hi , I am a foreign trained dentist, 31 yrs planning to seek dds in usa. According to you ,is it worth so much debt. And if u can suggest what other next bst career path I can pursue . TIA
According to me yes generally speaking dentistry is rewarding and work the debt for foreign trained dentists. It's no t easy , but rewarding. However for safety net you could be in your country untill you re accepted in a program. That can save a lot of stress financially. You can travel for exams and interviews but still keep working in your country. I can't speak for any other profession as I don't have personal experience with anything other than practicing dentistry.
Ma'am I am an Indian Citizen. I wanted to think about DDS but I do not have any relatives in USA for a Co-Sign a loan. Is there any option for a Scholarship? Or any other way to finance my journey?
There is no option of scholarship. 1. You can get funds wired from India or take a loan in India. There are some third party loan options too but I'm not thoroughly knowledgeable about them. 2. You can also straightaway go for residency( masters) program, some don't have a tuition. These are hospital based. Much more competitive but a very good option of your profile is amazing 3. You can look into Canadian programs. Expensive but government aids a lot. So there are options... you just have to work for it
@@dentaltalker thank you so much for your reply. Can u elaborate a little more on the 2nd point ?? I didn't understand. A master's degree without DDS ?
You can apply for residency programs instead of DDS/ DMD programs. They are few and more competitive. Also they restrict to practice within certain states but much more affordable most times
Yes ofcourse. You may do a prosthodontic residency or any other residency of your choice. Typically they are more competitive but definitely doable and a very good option
Hello unfortunately for working as hygienist you need to be licensed as such. You may come and observe me, no issues there. Also, you can't legally do any work in the US without a working visa. But it's obtainable if someone sponsors you one. You can probably work as dental assistant or treatment coordinator or any other personnel if you don't require a visa or someone can sponsor you one.
I don't think discussing my own financial situation would help most people as I had support structure here in US. However we can possibly make a video discussing that taking inputs from other dentists. B) I have explicitly explained examination process and what I studied in my other video. It is time stamped so you can go to that particular section. I can link that video here if you prefer. C) I started with 180K a year as my first year income working as associate and since then grown every year D) Did you want to know more about loan for this process ?
None of the schools would do that. If you want to attend a dental school here from the scratch you will need to do a college and apply as regular DDS program applicants do.
There is no cut off percentage that you need in BDS . You need to be a BDS or equivalent to apply that's the criteria. But your performance in BDS will determine your GPA . So the higher you score the better GPA. Please refer to GPA section of the video again.
@@dentaltalker hi mam I have checked my GPA from Wes so that it gives a approximate value ,I did dat by calculating all my marks of four years then it was around 3.22/4 Please suggest weather it is okay or I should do something to increase my GPA And I am so sorry that I am continously asking you my doubts...... Thank u in advance❤️❤️🙂🙂
Very good video.... I hv some questions if u can reply... 1. What to do if ece gpa is less than 3 2. And if I pass inbde in 2023 than can I apply in 2025 or I hv to apply in 2024. As I thinking to save some money for fees in 2024.
1. GPA less than 3 is going to be difficult for sure to get selected for interviews but people have gotten into schools with that GPA and so can you. There is not a single factor that will determine your chances alone. Do well on other parts of application. 2.You can apply anytime. You don't have to apply in the next cycle. However as soon as the cycle starts for the year you want to apply in, it's recommended to start as soon as cycle opens.
Thankyou soo much this vedio really helped me soo much i have been struggling to get information about DDS since a month , you really helped me through this ! May god bless you with more power and knowledge ✨
I thought bds is not a good career option.. But after I realised that every profession is good if we do our best . Now My aim is to get DDS and achieve more in dentistry
Is it harder than USMLE? I mean the chances of being accepted? And are we paid the same as other US dentist? I plan to go to US. Can you please tell me which one I should between them? Mbbs or bds based on which would be easier to get US!LE or DDS?
I am done by BSc medical and now i want to do dentist study from usa...can it possible bcz i don't have bds degree..so is there any way to do dentistry in us with this qualification?plzz guide me
This is a very informative...thanx for sharing, one more question I have is that does after doing DDS, does v automatically get work permit or v hv to come back to native countries or something else?
