Hi Leo! Cell coverage on Nusa Penida is reliable if you use a Telkomsel SIM card, which you can buy at the airport. We haven't used roaming or eSIM options here, but I recommend not relying on WiFi as it can be quite unstable on the island.
I am celebrating my retirement from 50 years as an RN. I did a home exchange, it will be my only one, and found a place for 8 days for free. My flight was $420 RT from Boston but I applied for an American Airlines card and got it for $167. I'm bringing dry pasta and beans, like cold black bean soup, to make soup and stews. To get to Camotes Island, you can go to Danao Port from North Bus Terminal and take the ferry, or you can take a high-speed boat directly from Mactan Island. Although many people like the beaches of Tulang Island and Santiago Bay, I prefer Lake Danao. This lake is the place where we can relax.
