@@therealscarter4 Thank you very much! We rarely have an extra hand to make it a blind for us, but we're always open to having our minds changed. We're working on a system to do blinds with just the two of us
This is a good comparison, but you should blind when comparing. 10 year olds are hard to compare cause the distilleries are proofing them down. Rare Breed beats all 3. But if you can find a 10+year MGP it will beat them also. I will however watch more of yalls vids.
@@StevenScone We appreciate it! It's hard for us to do blinds because it's usually just the two of us. We'll work out a system to keep them blind in the future.
Your video popped up on my feed, but I recommend doing these as a blind next time. That should give them an unbiased taste. My store just got BH10, and ER is highly allocated in PA and hard to get, but I prefer the RR10 to ER. I'm always trying to show other brands and whiskies to people who are blinded by the BT hype. BT is good, but not the end all be all of bourbon. Good video.
@@Stewburner771 Thank you! I agree with you. BT products can be good, but they're overly hyped. We've got about 40 more videos in the can at this point so you'll see my opinion on Sazerac shift a bit as they release. Jim Beam and Heaven Hill are fighting for my favorite distilleries now.
I'm a big fan of Holladay! They are all good but that Rickhouse wheat is the jam! I'm from near STL and often get single barrel store picks. Not sure if the rest of the country has access to them like we do.
@@BourbonTheory I'd be happy to send you some if you're interested. Currently there's a wheat single barrel at 118.7 proof and 6 yr 4 mo - as well as a regular bourbon 120.9 proof 7 yr 10 months. They are both good. I'd actually give the nod to the non wheat in this case. I feel the Rickhouse wheat is better than the single barrel, but I haven't done a side by side as my Rickhouse bottle hasn't been replaced yet. They just keep going empty on me! Side note - the regular bottled in bond bourbon is fantastic as the rest.
So take this with a chance to learn. The weird music in the background is very very weird. If you’re talking the background music takes a way from that . The video is way too long to be about one whiskey. Its just need a few notes on the nose how it taste and then an overall opinion on it then move on .
I rotate the background music. This particular song has been removed from the rotation. It's there for the short periods of silence. If you're looking for a short and sweet review then we are definitely not the channel for you. 10 - 20 minutes is the usual for most of our videos .We keep it loose and try to really get to the bottom of whatever we are tasting
First of your videos I've seen. I have this same bottle, and it is powerful. The flavors explode once you get past the heat. Just a tip, order yourselves a pair of Glencairn glasses to help improve your nosing experience. It's remarkable the difference the glassware makes.
@@jhawkk2004 Thanks for watching! We really appreciate it! We just finished our 2nd filming session and we used glencairns. We plan to continue using them. If you liked what you saw, we upload M/W/F at 10am!
This one pales in comparison against the 1910, 1920. I love the 1897 bib nose. Which is pure key lime pie on the nose, brown sugar forward, then it hits you with some burnt tire finish which was like why??????? I was fairly disappointed with this one.
When you guys come to do the trail you will have to come to the house and we can invite some other Bourbon people to the house and we can do a tasting and you can do a show.
Owe Josh an apology on this one. My memory and geography were off on Wild Turkey it is closer to Lexington than Bardstown. My Bad. Another reason for you to drive 😊
I saw that Brad from bradsbourbonreviews watches your channel so, I subscribed. Nice to catch a new channel as they get started. Is there an email address I can reach you at? Please ask Brad to verify who I am as a reference. Thank you.
Thanks so much! One more video for this week coming out this morning; then we'll be uploading M/W/F. We don't currently have a email for correspondence, but we're working towards establishing that at the moment
