11:45 This is all surrreptitious fat-shaming. Shame on her! The little digs, the bringing up of her size or weight when, actually, O' Donnell was not talking about her own self.. she asked Streisand if she dieted because she thought she looked fit. This is how people turn it around on people who carry excess fat or weight on their body, and it's all about disapproval and disgust and fat 'shaming'. Rosie ' You know what I did for 5 days'? Streisand goes to 'What, ate?"
Her mother at least had a reason or excuse of the worst loss of her husband at such a young age, and had to raise two children.. narcissistic abusive mothers have no excuse for abuse.
I am sick of people saying 'you are hard on others'- NO, I am not. I have the right expectations for people to act like responsible adults. And she isn't 'searching for a father' when SHE KNEW HER FATHER and had him for nearly two years. I lost my grandpa when I was three years of age, and have memories of him. She has subconscious memories.
She truly was a down to earth woman, and pleased to be recognized by younger people. I was lucky enough to meet her several times when I lived in NYC, and she remembered me 3 of the 4 times we met, always by name, always with a gracious smile and "kittle hugs", and the last time was air kisses. A warm soul and pleasure to have interacted with and bantered with. (Kittle hugs are what she called holding forearms and touching cheeks with a Muah!)
I just looked this up, it was Nov 1, 1985. Desi died a month later. I always found their relationship particularly fascinating. Their daughter recalled hearing them speaking on the phone very lovingly a couple days before he died and she’d written it down in her journal. Years later when she read the entry it finally dawned on her that the phone call took place on their wedding anniversary. That’s just so beautiful to me. They’d been long divorced but there was still a lot of love there.
Lucille Ball gave so much laughter and joy to the world with her brilliant comedic talents. She deserved every honor and award she received. A true treasure, legend, and a classy lady.❤️🙏🙏❤️
RIP, Larry Hagman (who passed five or six years after this) From the Wikipedia article on Good Times: The gospel-styled theme song was composed by Dave Grusin with lyrics written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman. It was sung by Jim Gilstrap and Motown singer Blinky Williams with a gospel choir providing background vocals. Because of the singing style of the song, and the audio mix, the lyrics to the theme song are notorious for being hard to discern, notably the line "Hangin' in a chow line"/"Hangin' in and jivin'" (depending on the source used). Dave Chappelle used this part of the lyrics as a quiz in his "I Know Black People" skit on Chappelle's Show in which the former was claimed as the answer. The insert for the Season One DVD box set has the lyric as "Hangin' in a chow line." However, the Bergmans, along with Bern Nadette Stanis, confirmed that the lyric is actually "Hangin' in and jivin'." Slightly different lyrics were used for the closing credits, with the song beginning on a verse instead of the chorus.
I have seen Steel Magnolias and Pretty Woman about a thousand times each Steel Magnolias made me cry when I first saw it all I can say is Lord I miss Julia she brought so much to the entertainment industry I am sure she is enjoying retirement but I would love to see her in movies again her energy is infectious
I recently read her memoirs. Fascinating. She’s no Hollywood airhead; there’s a lot going on in that brain. I don’t always agree with her, but there’s no denying that she has God-given talent, and has certainly contributed a lot to the world.
Audrey's smokers voice was very noticeable ... Likely everyone on that show was a smoker, very common in that timeframe ...Cough, cough, hack, hack ...
I have loved Barbra for over 6 decades. For me there has never been a voice more beautiful than this gorgeous stunning lady. Thank you Barbra for all you added to my life. You are a true blessing ❤

I kind of love the way that guy in the studio audience totally cheers her on when she says the Pulse line. This is honestly the best (2) episodes of the whole spinoff. I also love how she gets a thunderous standing ovation when she first arrives!
I was trying to figure out why Lucy seemed a little distracted and spaced out... I checked the dates these episodes originally aired, and it was January 12-16 of 1987.... Her ex-husband, Desi, had just passed a month prior. She was likely still in the throes of grief, even though the two had been divorced for some time.
