Welcome to Inspired Roots Ranch! My name is Lindsay and I created this channel to share my family's homeschool journey and our family adventures. We are a homeschool family with two children ages sixteen and three. With this channel I hope to share our journey homeschooling, share tutorials, unboxings, hauls, curriculum choices and reviews, playroom tour, gardening projects, and whatever other fun things I think of or you request to see. My family also just recently moved to Texas to begin homesteading so we plan to share that journey as well! If you'd like to follow our journey please like and subscribe and say hello in the comments.

Awe thank you so much! My family is doing great. Many life changes though and I haven’t figured out where to fit filming videos into the mix right now. I really want to though so I may need to move it up on my list of things to work on. My family moved half way across the country and I just had a new baby. We also started a homestead. My oldest just started senior year homeschooling and my second is starting kindergarten homeschool. I went back to work part time doing hair in addition to everything else so we’re just so so busy. Thank you for watching my videos and I’ll look more seriously into starting to make videos again soon.

Thank you. My child is really struggling to Be potty trained. I’m so Embarrassed that all the kid her age and younger are, and my Lizzy is the only one not. She feels embarrassed too because when she has an accident, the kids she’s playing with, tells her to go to the potty (and she refused to tell the daycare worker). She is the only one changed with a diaper. She’s almost 3 and a half. She keeps regressing. It upsets her when I sit her on the potty. I have 3 potable ones and 2 travel seats. So for now, I give up coz she is not ready. She was a preemie, so maybe she has sensory issues that’s undiagnosed. I was told to do one thing only for 30 days: sit her on the potty first thing in the morning. The rest of the day, let it go. ❤That’s how some potty trained their special needs child. We will try again and use your suggestions after the 30 days.

This is a great example of a traditional preschool circle time. This is not at all in alignment with Waldorf philosophy, though. You have some materials in the background that one could possibly find in a Waldorf setting, but that does not make this an example of a Waldorf-inspired circle at any age, let alone preschool. I think it's important to be accurate in our descriptions if we are putting ourselves forth as a teacher. The quizzing of children and asking them questions like, 'What day is it?" "What color is this?" is actually believed to be damaging to a young child within the Waldorf methodology. It's not about buying some silks and some grade school books and then applying those to a public school model. You can of course do that if you so choose, but it would be more honest to call it, a 'traditional preschool circle.' At no point is a circle about showing children posters and asking them questions in Waldorf. Seasonal songs would be sung in a particular scale, in a particular way with healthy movement. Children wouldn't sit and listen to a song and answer questions asked by a teacher. For those who are interested in what a Waldorf circle does look like in preschool, here is a good example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ja7SS1olx5I.html I am not meaning to criticize, but just to offer an accurate depiction of what Waldorf is...

I am a former Waldorfstident. Now I am grownup and the owner of over 100 Barbie dolls :) Because I always loved them as a child but felt I had to hide them from the other children (because of their parents who saw them as „bad“). I am still thankful that I went towaldoefkindergardwn and school. What I am trying to say is that any kind of extrem is most likely to be less beneficial. Sometimes it can even be very important for a child to play with war toys because of a reason that is beyond our grasp.

I am new to this learning style, my daughter is very drawn to the artistic component of it. I was wondering if you have an account anywhere where someone can purchase the block schedule (lesson plan) you use for this unit and all your other units (history, creative writing). I would definitely be interested in purchasing it bc honestly I have no clue how to work this daily for her and it would be such a help to have a step by step of what to do daily as a base and modify if necessary to work within individual homeschoolers. Would you consider selling your blocks lesson plan/schedules? I believe I wouldn't be the only one interested in it! Thank you so much and I hope you start posting other videos soon, you have quality and understandable content. Very very helpful! Thank you :)

I have all these books, and wanted to do this this past school year, but couldn't figure out how to have work to turn in for our portfolio. What did you do for that? (if you had to show work) If you didn't what would you recommend for "show work" doing history (or any subject) this way? Thank You
@inspiredrootsranch3695
@inspiredrootsranch3695 2 года назад
Our favorite way to show work is to choose favorite topics within the course to do projects and alternative book reports about. Some of the things my son did included writing an infomercial about weapons used during the war, writing and orally presenting as though he were a news anchor during the war, reports on some of the main people involved in the war on both sides, he built a model of an airplane from war times and made a brochure about it. Things like that. Hope this helps.

We get our son a few new animals in his stocking and Easter basket each year. The sensory bottles I made. The bottles can be found at hobby lobby and I filled them with beads and things we had in our craft cupboard. I did purchase some mini animals and things to make a couple themed ones. Glitter is also awesome. Mineral oil is the liquid. Just make sure to super glue the lid on so they can’t get it off and check them periodically to make sure the lids haven’t come loose.

Hi there! I was wondering if this was a whole years credit you are doing? Also how do you put it down on a transcript if so? Geology 1 credit? Or Earth Science?
@inspiredrootsranch3695
@inspiredrootsranch3695 2 года назад
Yes, we count this as a whole credit. We call it Geology 1 but you could include a few extra things pertaining to water, weather, and air to make it an Earth Science credit.
