I’m so happy I found this video! Been wanting to crochet a raglan cardigan without so many gaps and holes. Can you tell me if I can use half double crochet instead of double crochet?
HDC has a different row height than DC so change the stitch will affect the shape around the shoulders. It'll make it less slanted if that makes sense.
They can all work but I think you might need to change the pattern for it to be in the same shape as mine if you use HDC. Otherwise you CAN use HDC, the shoulders will just look a bit different.

I am crying rn. I was on the ribbing part, yet when i wore it, it is too big for me. Idk what went wrong, if it's the yarn i used, which is 8ply milk cotton or the size of the hook 5,5 mm . Idk what to do anymore. I have been working on this for days now. I am about to give up
I made the first with some leftover yarn but accidentally made it too big. So now I'm looking for someone with an exceptionally large head 😂. The pattern is very simple and easy so now I wil make one for myself in a pretty yarn. Thank you for uploading this.
I absolutely love this tutorial! It is the easiest that I have ever followed and I made one already for my daughter. Now I am making one for my son’s girlfriend. I am a newbie (meaning I do not have a lot of experience crocheting) and it took me about a day working off and on to complete it. *Could have taken much less- like a few hours had I worked continuously.* This is a fun project that I think anyone could do who is learning. @@CherilynQ yes!!! The sweater took me 3½weeks to finish! I'm a housewife with a lot of time on my hands so i pretty much crochet from morning til evening when my husband is working lol. I think thats why it surprisingly took me lesser time making this hoodie than expected! Thank you again! I can't wait to make a cardigan from your tutorials next!
Update! I made it! It took me 3½ weeks to complete this! I added a pocket in the front as well! I'm sooooo proud of myself! My husband loves it too! I can foresee him hijacking this sweater! Hehehehe
