Two weeks ago I couldn't tell the difference between crochet and knitting and never touched a hook in my life. Thanks to a few videos, I made a cool beanie! Your video has easily been the most understandable video I've seen so far! Thank you for this!
@@CherilynQCan you crochet baby clothes or something I want to crochet but I don't know how..I find your video is very understandable than other video so I want to learn from you.
70yrs old man and just found your great videos about making a beanie..they laughed at me at the shop when I asked about crochet and the gear needed, by what the hell...make good gifts for the kids, made by dad or grandad
More crochet tools and materials are available online if you didn't find what you were looking for at the shop. I'll be here to answer any of your questions so you can make some of this for the family 😊 By the way, this beanie is more beginner-friendly than the other one you commented on.
I just finished this, just in time for valentine's day for my husband. He loved it! This tutorial was perfect, I only used one yarn and took me 2 days 😊
I decided to try and make this beanie and man am I happy with how it turned out! It's so cute and looks just how I wanted. I'm going to crochet some cat ears to put on it and it will be perfect! ❤ Thanks for this awsome tutorial!
Please post a picture of the finished product!!? I'm just learning to crochet and when I finish anything I'll be posting it , I'd love to see everyone else's hard work too!
I am just 13 and i am amazed by these grandparents making these stuff for their grandchildren.. It's been just 2 days since i started crocheting.. I hope i can make this as a beginner.. Guess crochet doesn't have an age though😌💗 Edit : i tried it😭.. Processing.. 🥲💔
I made 6 of these as gifts. Thank you for the best tutorial ever. Now im making scarves to match this pattern. I just had to make a long chain..... about 60 inches and going from there. They are coming out great. Thanks again. Blessings
Okay that's my first work that doesn't turn crappy! Thank you very much for your amazing tutorial ❤ Ps ; for the ones who were lost like me, 12 inches is 30,5 centimeters
I just wanna thank you so much for this video I had been trying too crochet for a while and I tried making a scarf but it would never come out right it would be wearable but just not the best so I figured I’d try something else and I found this and not only did it show me what I had been doing incorrectly all this time but I made a PERFECT beanie and now I’m addicted!! Thank you for the wonderful lesson!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Best crochet turotial ive seen by far. The instructions are clear and the camerawork is great, showing clearly each stitch and movement slowly. So far ive made a scarf, mittens, and now working on this hat! Looking forward to watching more tutorials! ❤️
I made this hat! I underestimated how much yarn I would need and I ended up making two colors but I made it!!!!! I am so proud of myself, thank you for this tutorial!!
So im completely new to crochet. I have NEVER done a crochet project so this would be my absolute first one if I were to do it . Would you say this is a first time friendly project or should I start elsewhere 🤔 I’m super excited to start my crochet journey ❤️🥰
Do you include the “turning stitch” when counting stitches? Trying to count but not sure whether the “chain 1” is where I start or if the first time I insert the hook on the new row is “one.” Thank you:)
I'm an absolute beginner. Just finished my first infinity scarf. I'd like to make this as a gift to a male relative, large size. Would you know how to adjust the size -- how many inches over the 12" and how how many inches over the 22" around? Thanks!
yes, both colors are absolutely gorgeous. It does resemble Fleck, but Fleck has a little bit more like a khaki-ish color or something but the colors are very similar. I’m making a hat myself in that color and your pattern is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you so much this is my second project 😊 Also could someone help me out I got hang of the chains but when I am continuing forward my project keeps curving😢 please tell me what am I doing wrong.
I made big mistakes in my beanie. Never started over. I accidentally cut the string at the wrong time. Didn't start over. This took me about two full days to make- and now I have a weird-looking, square shaped hat. I have never loved a hat so much in my life.
YALL, I was trying to pinch off the top of the beanie and I pulled a little too hard and I BROKE THE YARN IT LITERALLY SNAPPED. Its fine I fixed it but I had a whole mini heart attack! 😅😅
Guess what All four of my grandkids will be getting for their birthdays. One of these so easy tutorial. The best I've seen, so easy to follow even for a beginner like me. 86 years, you never stop learning. 🤗🙏
Actually, I LOVE this tutorial. It is really understandable and very easy. I just started learning crochet and I made simple things like 1-inch long flowers and very simple hearts but I NEVER thought I could make a HAT!?! In my opinion, I think this tutorial was really helpful and now I’m done with my hat- it came out FANTASTIC and I am wearing it now. Special thanks to the maker of this video. Thanks again!
i was able to make my first ever crochet project thanks to your video. i've tried for years to crochet and thought i was just bad at it. turns out, i just needed the right teacher 🤍
Hiya! I also had this problem when I first started, use a stitch marker at the end of each row to remember how far to go. There’s also a sneaky last two loops you need to go through when you’re at the end of your row. It won’t look like anything is there to crochet into but there is. It’ll look like a sideways “V”. Counting your stitches also helps (but that takes forever lol)
I am very much a beginner when it comes to crotchet, and I can't wait to try this beanie. I can knit anything from Aran's to Icelandic cardigans and sweaters easily now I plan to master the art of crotchet. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
I’ve been knitting and crocheting for 38+ years, I’m 45 , and your is the one of the best patterns for those who are just beginning. Thank you . Great job. ❤
You can use small pieces of yarn as stitch markers you just thread a different colour of yarn through where the stitch markers will go. Do you have a ruler 📏 for measuring? I’m sure you could pick up a tape measure for just a couple of £. Hope this helps. Things like scissors and a darning needle are instruments that you will use almost every time you crochet so it might be helpful if you’re able to lay your hands on this two things, they aren’t expensive by any means. You got this 😊
Your tutorial is quite simple and easy to understand, but I just have one question. At 6:35 you say that we go up repeating this pattern. My question is which pattern exactly because when I keep doing the single crotchet, it has one rib-like part in the beginning and the rest of it looks flat, it does not look like a ribbed beanie. Please help me out.
I've been having a lot of issues with the turning, after the first chain, which of the back loops are we actually going to insert our hooks into, cause it's really confusing me here 😭
You have to turn your chain and there is a back loop there you have to insert your hook but if you can't find a back loop then you're doing something wrong watch the tutorial carefully you'll get it... Hope it helps:)
As someone new to crochet - thank you for the reminders about stitch markers for the rows!! I can do hats in the round , but the 2 times I’ve tried a hat horizontally like this ( and also my first blanket) I have dropped several stitches … leading to a triangle shape and it’s pretty devastating losing hours and hours of work.
Thank you for this video tutorial. I was just looking for a basic hat that would be fairly quick. I've been crocheting for 11 years, but I realized early on that you never stop learning.
I have a hard time with finger coordination and finding rhythm so learning to crochet has always been daunting but your videos have helped so much! You are so easy to follow along with.
Thank you so so much! This helped me a lot as a beginner My projects before this didn't really have any neat-looking stitches so this is a nice change 😁 It's pretty time-consuming for me though, otherwise, it's super simple to do!
no, your end product would still turn out the same, but the stitches might look looser because you are using a hook that's too big. overall it won't affect much though
Had to restart when I was almost done with the panel, but I finally finished! I have a great gift for my friend’s birthday. Thanks so much! Also tip for anyone on a budget, Bobby pins work well as stitch markers and less well but still okay to thread it through at the end!
Omg Me too,I’m sitting here like, what am I doing wrong I’ve started over at least four times🤦♀️ If I could just get these dang edges straight,I’ll be good 😂😂😂😂
I made this in under 3hours and the outcome was amazing I showed my friends in school and they asked me where I bought it from my teachers were stunned too and one teacher even gave me yarn I love crocheting so much Buh rn I have to focus on my gcse😭😝
This project took me a few months, as I can’t crochet daily as my fingers start to hurt, but I finally completed mine yesterday. I will say, this tutorial made me feel self conscious about the size of my head, I had to make 80 rows!! Either way I love the way my first beanie came out, but knowing myself I know I’m going to eventually make another as there were sections of my rows where I accidentally added too much or not enough, so it’s a little wonky, but I had so much fun!! Thank you for the tutorial!!❤️😁
This tutorial is one of the best tutorials to use to make a beanie hat! The first time I did this I accidentally mistaken 12 inches as 12 stitches… so I made it a little short. But it’s alright bc the second time it was perfect (well as perfect as perfect can be)
Mine didn't come out as perfect as yours, but it looks so perfect i don't know what to with myself....thank you for the step by step tutorial easy to follow.
This beanie is sooo cuute!! I'm a noob beginner when it comes to crochet. I crochet your knitted looking beanie and It turned out super cute!! And the tutorial was amazing!! I was wanting to follow your bunny ear tutorial to add some bunny ears too it but my yarn is of the bulky variant! Is there any way to make the bunny ears without making them too stiff using a bulky yarn?
Thank you! For the bunny ears, I'm afraid I don't know any way to make bulky yarn not stiff. Maybe washing it with wool wash can help but only a little.
It is so easy to make and looks amazing, but sadly, I didn't have enough yarn to complete it, so I had to undo every row to start up a smaller project 🥲
Yayy! I just finished it! My hand is sore from pulling it at the end lol but ive been working on this for a couple months now off and on as a gift for my husband. He loves it!
I gotta find out how big my mums head is I’ll update as I go!!! January 8, 2024 - I’m on the start of the second row of back loop stitches! (Currently 10:05pm so I’m gonna go to sleep)
I havnet finished yet, but i worked on this project for a couple hours today at most... and your instructions were so straight forward. This is my first ever crochet project and i'm not intimidated by it! Made a lot of mistakes with tension, but i'm getting into the rhythm for sure.
Please.😢 answer.. Why when and i add new rows it's getting wider it should be even right. I really want to make this beanie for my grandma..❤ where am i going wrong
This is quite difficult for absolute beginner 😂 I crochet for few months, and i took quite some time to actual see which stitch to insert, to tell different stitches and chain. I made phone bag using single crochet it’s hard to tell, and it got skinny lol. For newbies it’s good to start with small amigurimi. But i still love this tutorial. I made a cactus crochet but didn’t tell how to sew it together. 😂
I’m about to make so many of these for my boyfriend and dad 😅 also quick question: I have quiet a big head its looking kind of tight, at the beginning how many more should I do?
Great and easy tutorial to follow. This is my second project my first was simply a headband. You did great explaining everything and I currently feel like a pro working on this lol :) can’t wait to see the outcome!
Just a question; i’m half on the video and my work just went from 30 cm to about 20 cm. Is dat normal or am i pulling to tight? Otherwise i get gaps between the stiches
