Hello all. My name is Stephen and thanks for visiting my channel.
I have travelled extensively around the world totaling over 45 countries especially across Europe, North America, Asia and New Zealand in addition to all Australia’s state’s and territories. Through over a decade of budget conscious travel I have undertaken everything from backpacking and group tours throughout Europe North America and South East Asia, train travels in Germany, France, Spain, Canada, Japan and the USA and camping style road trips throughout the USA and Australia. I have taken well over 100 flights across 20+ airlines and a handful of long-distance train journeys and road trips.
In recent months I have begun documenting all my travels on RU-vid so please stayed tuned over the coming weeks and months as I progressively upload all the latest covering my flights and travels!
In the meantime you can also visit my website @ aussiejetsetter.com.au/
Thanks for watching Nick. Certainly not surprised there, there’s quite a few still going around in Aus too with Alliance/ Qantas Link and of course National Jet too.
Also used for occasional AFL charter flights when VA doesnt provide a commercial link. Eg the Fremantle teams recent game in Launceston against Hawthorn. The return flight LST-PER made the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Thanks for watching. Yes quite a disaster that flight sounded indeed! VA I thought did fly Perth to Launceston but only a few times weekly so maybe the schedule didn’t work for them hence they used the Charter service!
I Hope they did too! I’d say been a private footy charter they just wanted to get home at all costs but I think they would have had to divert if it was a public flight! Sounds like conditions where shocking!
Thanks for watching. Yes I certainly don’t mind Adelaide airport. You do have to remember everything is like under the one roof from what I can understand hence why I think it appears to be a higher concentration of shops and outlets etc. Probably a minor annoyance flying internationally out of it though just like T3 international in Perth needing to go through domestic security first! Hopefully T2 in Perth gets it’s act together ahead of Jetstar flights moving in from September with food shops actually been open on a weekend! Hope you get to try this unique flight soon I thought it was a lot of fun!
you are correct about the A320D experience on Air New Zealand. you get a nice snack which is fine for the duration of flight time but that will all change next year with star link Wi-Fi. I had it on a flight to NZCH once but never used it
@@AussieJetSetter Had to wait an extra hour at Hobart Airport last Tuesday while the plane winged its way Southward from Canberra due to some hold-up or rather
Thanks for watching. They are certainly getting on for age probably close to 30 years but I certainly don’t see any need for their retirement anytime soon! I agree there pretty serviceable still!
Thanks for watching. I hadn’t heard this development but it would make sense should REX see demand pick up! For now I kind of like the idea of flying the E190 to Adelaide as it’s a something a little different!
Good to see more competition on the ADL-PER route. From previous experiences with REX, I will look into them on this route. Flew on the E190 when Virgin had them years ago and I thought it was quite comfortable.
Thanks for watching Ryan! You are are certainly right as per bringing competition. I also flew Perth to Adelaide on Virgin’s E190 back when they still had them . Pretty good experience I recall!
Thanks for watching Angus. You are indeed correct. They will be moving in from September this year in the first phase of the airport consolidation to the original international side of the airfield. Hopefully at this stage everything is scheduled to be consolidated by 2031. Only annoying thing about this is that there will be no Qantas club anymore before a Jetstar flight in Perth!
Hello everyone and welcome to this evening’s launch of my first ever National Jet Express E190 flight review from Perth to Adelaide operating for REX Airlines! Really hope you enjoy it and find it informative. If so really appreciate if you could please like, comment and share amongst your family and friends and also consider subscribing and hitting that bell button so you won’t miss my next exciting review! Cheers and have a great week ahead all! Stephen
Thanks for watching John. Sure is! Just a shame how expensive it is at this time of year. If it wasn’t for getting the inaugural flight from Singapore I think next time I will visit in the west season when it’s much cheaper!
@@AussieJetSetter Yes its a shame it's so pricey ( both accommodation and flights), lucky I had some QANTAS FF points that helped get me back to Melbourne.Cable Beach is beautiful and it also great visiting The Dampier Peninsula. The weekend market was wonderful too !
Thanks for watching Gabriel! I’m Not sure exactly what buildings you are referring to but there indeed has been a lot of construction going on in the airport vicinity in the past few years especially with the opening of the train line! I suspect construction will pick up big time when work begins on the new consolidated airport precinct in coming years!
Great video mate, really enjoyed this one. I was surprised when I heard about this route and I am interested to see how it goes… I know Broome is a tourist destination, but I just wasn’t overly sure how well known it is by the Asian market…Fingers crossed it goes well! Mate… those arrival declarations coming back to OZ always does my head in.. hopefully that changed in time. Flown over Broome too many times to count, this has made me keen to try get here sooner than later… cable beach looks awesome! Once again! Good job! 👏
Thanks so much for watching @LukeCrisp. Always appreciate your support as a fellow RU-vidr! Yeah it you haven’t already been to Broome it is well worth the visit it’s a spectacular part of the country up in the Kimberley. As several others have commented too it’s a starkly different place than Singapore hopefully it takes off with holiday makers from that region! Only problem is the town is already way overcrowded in dry season (it’s 15k population is said to triple). There’s huge demand and limited supply for all types of accomodation which doesn’t mesh well with cheap jetstar flights if the accom is really expensive haha. Hopefully they find a solution to make Broome a long term sustainable tourist hotspot and I guess WA’s smaller equivalent of Cairns! Cheers Stephen
Honestly I was very surprised at the announcement. They only have 7 A320s and they haven't reinstated service to quite a few other pre-COVID destinations, so to see Broome come up was... surprising. Hope they're able to keep the flights going - WA certainly has some great scenery and beaches, and it's nice to have an option other than Perth. I believe the Aussie Jetstar doesn't even fly to Broome, and to think that a connection to Singapore opened up when there are currently no flights to Brisbane... just amazing!
Thanks for watching mate. I dare say this flight route attracted some state government funding or subsidies (like many new flight routes) so it’s not exactly likely Jetstar Asia are operating freely on their own accord. The big question will be when the honeymoon period ends whether jetstar can afford to financially maintain it fingers crossed but only time will tell! It would be great to see jetstar operate domestic flights to Broome whether from Perth or the east coast or Broome but I don’t really see it happening unfortunately as it’s already a lucrative route for Qantas so I’d think the Qantas Group would not want to lower there prices to compete with their own budget carrier! Cheers Stephen
Fantastic trip report! Bro waving the Aus flag at 16:20 sent me haha I hope that they could continue to facilitate the growth of travel between Singapore and Broome. Certainly an interesting port in Australia that they've chosen, but I'm sure there's a logical reason behind it. I guess it's one of those things that time will tell. Nice work as always! Regards, Nilesh
Thanks for watching and your continual support of the channel Nilesh @nilskyproductions! Hopefully only the start of even bigger things to come indeed for Broome. They did have some Silk Air trial services before the pandemic but but unfortunately they never returned. I’m sure this flight is most certainly getting state government funding so only time will tell if If it can stand on its own feet going forward but fingers crossed! Now if only Jetstar Aus could service Broome that would be great to bring down prices but I dare say that’s not in the Qantas Group’s plans to generate competition against Qantas! Cheers Stephen
Thank you for your thoughtful review. I too, don't have a particular loyalty to one airline over another, so I appreciate your balanced take. You've quickly become my go to domestic travel source of info. I appreciate your work. Keep the great content coming. All the best from a small town in Queensland!
Thanks mate, thrilled you enjoyed it and appreciate those kind words. Plenty of flights taken on some interesting routes and airlines recently so I look forward to releasing quite a frequent schedule of flight reviews over coming months plus many more walking tours as well so watch this space :) Cheers Stephen
Thanks to the watching Rais. Very true indeed and a very unlikely flight too from such a major city to a small town in a relatively remote part of northern Australia!
Thanks for watching mate, yeah Defs a good idea to try but you’ll have to be quick as it is a seasonal service to end of October. Hopefully returns next year! The ironic part is that the flight is generally cheaper from Singapore than Perth!
Thanks for watching mate! It’s certainly a possibility given that the Melbourne (and now also) Sydney to Busselton Margaret River flight have been a success! Do keep in mind however that Qantas already operate seasonal 737 services to both Melbourne and Sydney from Broome during the dry season. I’d dare say there would be only enough demand for one or the other. The ironic thing is that it now seems cheaper to fly to Broome from Singapore than from elsewhere in Western Australia let alone the East Coast!
Thanks so much @thewindowseat77! Yes it was very much a great experience having the pleasure to finally do an inaugural. Watch this space I’m covering another inaugural too in only a few weeks from now! Thrilled you enjoyed it mate :)
Thanks for watching james. Great to hear you enjoyed it! You’ll have to be quick I hear this seasonal service only goes to late October. No word yet whether it will return next year yet!
Thanks for tuning in again Morris. Yeah it was probably the most comfortable a320 flight I’ve ever been on :) sure helps an empty row! Glad you enjoyed the lounge review and views of stunning Cable Beach!
