Can Jetstar Really be the WORLD'S THIRD MOST HATED AIRLINE? Sydney to Sunshine Coast Flight Review

Join AussieJetSetter as he reviews a recent flight with Jetstar between Sydney and Queensland's Sunshine Coast on one of the airline's many trusty but ageing stalwart Airbus A320-200 aircraft.
Jetstar have been plagued with bad publicity in recent years due to news of delays, cancellations, lost and damage bags and poor customer service and a recent S Money Survey finding that according to consumer sentiment on Twitter that they are the third's most unpopular airline in the world!
With so much bad publicity I thought it was right to give Jetstar the benefit of the doubt and give them a review for myself to find out whether such notorious reputation actually stacks up in reality with my first ever Australian domestic Airbus A320 Jetstar review or whether Australia's most prolific carrier may offer a more respectable experience than you might think!
As the purpose of my visit to the Sunshine Coast was to review Bonza up to Darwin and give the sad state the airline now is under voluntary administration please feel free to watch to the end for a Bonza tribute!

I am surprised they rated that well. Having flown with them a few times, my maxim is "While there is breath in my lungs, I will never set foot onboard a JetStar Plane"

Thanks very much James. Yes I thought it was only fitting seeing the whole purpose of the trip up to the Sunshine Coast was for the Bonza review! Such ashame they are all but gone it seems. Yes not too far now at my current rate of about 100 subs a month maybe i might reach that big milestone in around 6 weeks :)

Nice video mate. From my perspective, I have had good and bad experiences with Jetstar (as I'm sure we all have). One that stands out was when a couple of their 787s were out for maintenance after lightning strikes... no word of cancellations until less than 24 hours before (MEL-SIN). A mate in the industry was the one who warned me a week prior that there was a chance my flight would be cancelled.... Aside from this, I enjoy flying Jetstar as its generally a cheaper alternative to my usual QF. I really like the neo flights up to Bali as well... In terms of bad publicity, I would say Qantas takes the brunt (better headline).. so its rare I see much about Jetstar. Once again, nice video mate! cheers

Thanks for watching @LukeCrisp! Yeah I have had the dreaded “engineering requirements” a few times before with flight cancellations at the 11th hour. Bit like they knew of a problem well in advance to me! Haven’t flown a Dreamliner on Jetstar before maybe I’ll do Melbourne to Hawaii or something in the future! I’m doing Jetstar’s inaugural neo Flight up to Singapore from Perth in August looking forward to see how they perform!

Your videos are awesome. If I had one criticism, it would be to not have music during the takeoff, the sound of engines roaring as an aviation enthusiast are pure music! But anyways I like how you go the extra mile to give as many details as possible. Keep it up!

Thanks for the review ! My big issue with Jetstar is their' sudden cancellation of flights .If they could reliably transport passengers from A to B I might consider flying with them again.One thing I DO like about Jetstar; their' ham and cheese toasty!

Thanks for watching. I agree with you on the sudden cancellations often for dubious reasons and the subsequent poor alternative offerings in such scenario! They are pretty good in all fairness when the flight goes to plan though in my opinion

Hey @AussieJetSetter great review of Jetstar I’m glad the flight got out on time, I’m thinking also either qantas or Jetstar to Melbourne on the 2nd next month I had to go qantas for points and the lounge free wifi and food

Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion on Jetstar! FYI they do have a business class product on their Dreamliner flights. Call it what you like it’s pretty much a business lite experience I would think- comfy recliner seats but no lie flat and free food and drinks but not fine dining. I’ll be keen to review it one day if can get at a reasonable price!

Jetstar sucks. Will their plane's take off on time? Maybe/ Maybe not. Spend the extra and go Qantas/ Virgin. They may not be perfect but a heap more reliable than Shitstar.

Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts and experiences with Jetstar. I’ve certainly had some frustrating experiences myself with cancelled flights although plenty of uneventful value for money ones as well. I tend to use Qantas or virgin points for most domestic flights these days.
