I believe the canal that was built to connect to the inland sea from the "southern gate" of the city was orientated along the tilt of the Earth. Aligned with the temple observatory at the center of the city..
Great proposal. Portugese sailors knew of high brazil. The red dye tree matched the magical plant's proposed to be growing on the island. So indirectly , brazil was named after this magical island. An Addition to your structural theory.Is that the safgasso is upcurrent of this area. Giant seaweed mats would be ensnared on seabanks and shoales. Typically Hy Brazil was shrouded in fog/stormy conditions, suggesting the aftermat of Caribean hurricanes which occasionally rip through the Sargasso Sea. Also Hy Brazil only appeared every 7 years (see Brigadoon in Scotland). Trees turtles and even people drifted on the trans atlantic current confirming exotic life to the west. He's getting warmer on the chronology. The years Plato got from Solon were lunar years, not solar. Even Greeks in classical times knew this. The books of Jason Breshears and M.P. Courville prove this to my satisfaction. They also nail down a location better than any other theory I've encountered. The city was a Phoenician colony in NW Africa. The city was named after The Atlantic, which was named after Aldland/Oldland/Aztlan, which is why there is so much confusion and conflation with the name "Atlantis". The mythology of The Aztecs and texts like "The Oera Linda" show that. Where Oldland was though...is anybody's guess. The Atlantic, and specifically the North Atlantic are obvious candidates, but I also believe America is a possible location. The huge ancient mooring stones off the Western Florida coast, among many other things, are evidence for that.

May that not be now the northwestern corner of the African Plate at some 2000mBSL? This would relocate Atlantis (city) much further South than where you have it?

Your theory is the simplest explanation that solves a multitude of problems simultaneously. I wonder though if Atlantis or the Azores Plateau might have been bigger than currently assumed. There were islands that trailed all along the ocesnic ridge between south America and Africa. Is it possible msny of those were above sea level as well during glacial maximums? Also could the snake be the 1000 yr ocean current you spoke of? Could it have a phantom impact on plate tectonics along with the other forces? Some people suggest that the contentment of Mu existed at the same time as Atlantis. Both perishing in the same sudden melting (of glacial ice causing a deluge that lasted weeks.
There are definitely a handful of small islands in the Atlantic (not located on the Azores Plateau) that were definitely above water during the Last Glacial Maximum. There's also a lot of underwater seamounts that are way to deep to have been above water for millions of years, if ever. I think the serpent/snake represented lots of different natural phenomena, I don't think prehistoric people had the same kind of technical symbolism that we use today. Would the ocean current have impact on plate tectonics... I don't think I know enough about geology to answer that, but definitely an interesting idea. I don't know how I feel about Mu, but the Sunda Shelf is something worth reading up on. Huge amounts of land were lost after the Last Glacial Maximum in South-East Asia and Northern Australia.

You see the late Professor Arisio Nunez de Santos, a nuclear physicist and scholar on Atlantis, proposed that the location of Atlantis was somewhere off the coast of Indonesia. Now Indonesia was heavily influenced by India prior to the arrival of Islam so my theory is that the story of Dwarka is an ancient memory of a “cradle of culture.” As far as I know we have yet to find the South Asian/South East Asian equivalent of Göbelki Tepe, a site that signifies the steady transformation from a migratory lifestyle to a sedentary one which is why I believe it is a memory, a retelling, of the loss of a “cradle”.
In 2022, they did a DNA test of the oldest complete set of bones found in Ireland, and they discovered that he had dark skin and blue eyes. This would imply Africa, most likely North Africa. It is highly probable that these are the same Africans who you theorize left the Richat in Africa and found the Azore plateau. Since, if, as you say, they established an observatory in Salisbury, they would have had sufficient time to explore all of the area. If there was a civilization that took root on the Azore Plateau, it would have thrived for thousands of years. The observatories you postulate being the outer edges of an empire, but not outposts. We know that people lived in villages in the English channel during the period when the sea levels were low and the land was dry. So, if you're right about the Azore plateau, then the myth of Hybrazil is really a memory from the Azorians (Azlantians) of their lost homeland.

The time line is way off. Your idea about origin of humanity is very simplistic and not even explanatory. And then, further on, you know the "out of Africa theory" has been debunked years ago? According to anthropologists nowadays, humans emerged in several different areas, not in one place. The megalitic constructions around the world, are much older than archaeologists suggest. You really have to rethink about that. So many places have been destroyed, stone constructions melted etc. This strongly indicate many sites have been built long before latest cataclysm. What is the sound eye? Sounds have a duration and are invisible, they can be heard in total darkness. Vision requires light and is immediate. What would happen if these sense turned to face each other? If they switched roles, obeying the laws from one another? Then switched back again? Would that not be a memorable moment? I would like to say I am nobody,Im not trying to act smart but I live close to that line in West Virginia .That is interesting from KY BUT across the river in Ohio ,Portsmouth OH. If I'm not mistaken at one time before the settlers moved into area there was a town & some of the Ohio River was diverted into a ringed town,yes similar to Atlantis.Once the area was settled by Europeans turned Americans the old town was leveled and a new town laid out. I think some of the mounds in the rown is actually part of the earthworks for the rings.The only place I can remember (or find) with that information is a book Authored by Ephraim Squier & Edwin Davis who were archeologists doing a job for the Smithsonian.They also wrote a Book Ancient Monuments of the Mississippi Valley.See, alot of land and information was destroyed or written over in the Eastern part of America (I'm sure you can imagine why) from what I understand these 2 gentlemen tried to document as much as they could about the mounds & what was there before it was taken away.I may be wrong because it's been a long time since I seen the info. There was an advanced civilisation in the past that had telekinetic powers and advanced technology. I'm coming from a different place, suggesting that stone-age people with stone-age technology were capable of measuring, charting and navigating the globe. It's very difficult for my ideas to gain traction when Option 1 is taken as gospel by most people and Option 2 is much more exciting than anything I can come up with. Hi, this is a great video. Have you any idea where the original Asian Brazilwood got its name? And are you suggesting that the island's name may have led some to falsely believe it had something to do with this wood?
It certainly seems that there were traders in Bristol that thought that the name bore enough of a resemblance to take the risk (even if they thought the chances of ever finding it were slim). Brasilwood was a high value commodity that had to be shipped over very long distances. A source of Brasilwood close to home would be a license to print money. It's unclear as to the true origins of the word Brasil. The trouble with ancient words is that they can change meaning over time or sound the same as other ancient words. There are, however, a number of good theories as to the origins of the word Brasil: Brasil could mean "embers", a reference to the reddish/orange colour of the wood. Brasilium (Medieval Latin), Bresil (Old French) and Braze (Germanic) all attest to this. All of these words have a common ancient origin rooted in the Proto-Indo-European word Bhreu (to boil, bubble, effervesce, burn). There's also a possible link to the old Arabic word for Saffron (wars), but no-one can figure out how the sound morphed from wars to brasil over time, so perhaps this is less likely.

It's laughable to believe that Atlantis (azores islands) are related by any means to the builders of megalithic structures and the pyramids (all built after Atlantis downfall). I know that recently some years ago an atlantean portuguese seafarer discovered with his instruments a big pyramid submerged between two of the islands of Azores. But it probably was built by a different racial culture and invasive to the real natives of the Atlantis, and in the final epoch prior to their downfall. You want to have an insight of how looked Atlantean arquitecture? Then just look cities like Porto, Lisboa or Coimbra and the famous stone pavements of Portuguese design. Real ethnic Atlanteans (portuguese and galician people of haplogroup R1b) never used pyramids in their arquitecture and culture, they prioritized other kind of structures with different functionality (like the classic portuguese forts) and also they gave nature and specially trees (like celtic druids) a more protagonic development in their society. Those who built pyramids, temples and megalithic structure belongs to a wider group of racial cultures from the east (like those from haplogroups J1/J2, G2, E1b, C2, N1, Q1, O1/O2). It depends what you mean by "Atlantis". I suspect that the word Atlantis is derived from an ancient prehistoric word that either meant "island" or "ring shaped island". Sri Lanka is certainly in a part of the world where these root words existed in the ancient past. I think there are a lot of different "Atlantis" locations that are completely unrelated to each other. I suspect that Solon, Plato and especially modern researchers have mixed up the details between these locations. Hence why there are so many locations that are claimed to be "Atlantis"... and rightly so. The part of Plato's "Atlantis" story I'm most interested in is the ring shaped city located on an island outside of the Pillars of Heracles. This is because it bears striking similarities to a location described by many ancient cultures around the world in their creation mythologies. The first island of creation with a central mound, atop this mound sits a pantheon of gods or a pillar/tree that links the heavens and the underworld to the earthly realm of mortal men. The Egyptians called this place the Homeland of the Primeval Ones. Do I think that Sri Lanka is the Homeland of the Primeval Ones? The short answer is no, but I do suspect that the Ancient Greeks were heavily influenced by stories that originated in places like Ancient India and possibly Sri Lanka, it's difficult to definitively make these links and so much information was lost during the Greek Dark Ages, but there are common themes that can be found in both Ancient Greek and Ancient Indian myths and stories. It's very possible that elements of the "Atlantis" story documented by Plato were influenced from traditions that originated further to the East.
@@Apocalypse_Tube Reasons why I'm suggesting Sri Lanka are : I don't believe the Pillars of Heracles were one exact place rather a concept for straits leading to a giant body of watter. Like Gibraltar but also like Bab al-Mandab in the Red sea. There is also an island in the Gulf of Aden right behind this strait. Second : In my opinion the island of Atlantis and the city Atlantis got mixed in the story. The bridge that connects the city is actually connecting the whole island. That bridge being the Adams bridge. As for the city of Atlantis as it is described in the myth. I think we will never find such place just because it never existed in that form. Constructing three canal rings has no practical reasons it just brings more problems than advantages. The source for this could be a place near Trincomalee where there are three bays. Also I came across Atlantis described as a Egg. If we look at Sri Lanka it resemble the shape of a egg. The name itself could be a key. In south Indian language Tamil : ஒட்டி oṭṭi - That which adheres to, coheres with ஞாலம் ñālam - Earth,World, universe. OttiNalam > Atnalam > Atlanam > Atlan + is > Atlantis, meaning simply: the attached land.
@@SlaviSokol I 100% agree that the Pillars of Hercules represented more than one location, certainly in the time of Plato it's recognised that they represented the Straits of Gibraltar, but yes they have been located in different places throughout the ages. I also agree that there are a lot of details in Plato's dialogues that have been mixed up. I think it's very likely that Plato or Solon were trying to put together a single story from snippets of other ancient stories that they mistook to represent the same place. There is definitely a portion of Plato's story that strongly correlates with other ancient creation myths from the Americas all the way to Japan (and everywhere in between). When you start to read these stories it provides you with more clues. I have in fact found a location at 38°32'06"N, 29°24'09"W (in the Azores in the Atlantic) that corresponds to the dimensions of Plato's canals. The outer canal and middle canal are precisely the correct size, no evidence for the innermost canal (either the sonar resolution is too low or it simply doesn't exist). The reason I believe that this location is Plato's ringed city is because it is geometrically and geodetically linked to other ancient sites around the world. This is the story I have slowly been putting together over the previous 12 episodes. You raise a good point with the etymology of the word Atlantis. But you could also make a similar argument using other ancient languages. ATL means water in the Nahuatl language. Atoll is derived from the Indo-Aryan word for ring shaped island. LAN has Indo-European roots simply meaning land. Water Land (island)? Ring Shaped Water Land? There are almost certainly elements from Plato's story that were taken from events that occurred in the Mediterranean. This is why it's impossible to pin Atlantis to a single location. People are absolutely correct to claim that Atlantis was in the Mediterranean, or that it was Sri Lanka or that it was in the Atlantic, or the Bahamas. We're trying to put together a single story that is actually a merging of different events that occurred in different parts of the world at different times. As I said before, the element I'm interested in is the link to the creation myths found globally. The same is for antient megalithic sites and theirs position or alignment. South India and Sri Lanka got my interest from another reason but I also browsed the Google Earth if I could find enything. There are some unusual geographical correlations between places in Sri Lanka and places in europe. Distences close to 5600 mi 4500 mi 6666 km but unfortunately I can't make sense from these numbers. The statute mile by it self is a mystery. Currently the mile is my biggest headache and my suspicion is that it is somehow derived from our Moon. At this moment I dont feel comfortable with the state of my theory but I will share it after more refinement.

This is the only thing that matters : all that now remains for you to do is to find an anti-mainstream-academic tycoon willing to pay for an expedition to send down a drone to photograph the city's immense megalithic ‘oricalc’ walls, the only thing that certainly must still be in place, otherwise there would be no trace of the concentric rings. On the other hand, I was pointing out the danger of relying too much on geometric and geodetic alignments between the site you have identified and other megalithic or archaeological sites on either side of the Atlantic, for several reasons: firstly, who tells you that you have identified all of them while others may be underwater, perhaps only 120 m deep, but still unknown ?; secondly, the Richat Structure is merely an extremely recent modern suggestion and nothing megalithic has yet been found, so there is a risk of mixing up alignments that are probably accurate with others that are pure fantasy; thirdly, the analysis of the seabed, compared to the Platonic text, is fully sufficient to support your thesis. As for the flood that submerged the continental shelf of India and Sri Lanka, given that the Atlantean flood caused an average rise of the waters of 120 m (400 feet), this falls within the dynamics of a single event on a global level but does not authorize anyone to transfer the name Atlantis - outside of the Platonic context - to other oceans, just as it does not authorize anyone to move the Pillars of Hercules wherever it suits them best to place Atlantis in the Mediterranean. Randall Carlson has some videos explaining how the Mid-Atlantic ridge functions like a hinge, responsive to the isostasy of the Atlantic basin. When polar icecaps melted rapidly at end of Younger Dryas, the large influx of water depressed the thin crust of the basin submerging the Azores basin and with it Atlantis.
Yes, he's made some great videos. I think that there are additional factors that might have contributed to this effect, There's a hotspot under the Azores that's currently in a period of low activity.
There IS a portion of the sea floor, just below the Azores that shows a portion of a circular feature. However, the dimensions of the projected circle is about TWICE the dimension give by Plato. Could there possibly be a factor of two error in his "stadia" dimension?
I intend to visit in the near future. Quite a lot of ancient things to investigate. I suspect that various different peoples throughout history have occupied parts of the Azores. Even in relatively recent history it looks like the Norse made it to the Azores hundreds of years before the Portuguese (this has been determined from the mitochondrial DNA of the "native" mice found in the Azores).

The narrative is local natives made 900 years ago... and call it a sacred learning place.
