It’s about time one of the MoG competitions got some good weather!! Well done on the species count. Which comps do you prefer? Going after big tope or trying to catching anything and everything?
Omg one of my favourite spots in the whole of the UK and that's just from Shore. Only 1 min in and can't wait to watch the rest. All the best Dave and tight lines for the winter mate. 1 question? Are SIBs aloud to take part in the competition or is it just a bigger boat thing?
Good video. Me and some mates were up there in June we managed 3 tope from the shore and lost one. We had to call the coast guard out for 2 kayakers caught in the tide rip, they were getting dragged out and screaming for help took a few hours but they were eventually they were rescued thank God.
Cracking video lad's 👏🏻 a really enjoyable watch 👍🏻 decent weather and plenty of species 🎣 very well done 👍🏻 the cuckoo wrasse are beautiful wee fish 👌🏻 conger I'm not a great fan of although i did have a pb one last week of just over 20lb from the shore while skate fishing Regards Arnie
Hi David and Gary. Missed you putting out a video last week, but it was worth it to see this. Love species hunting but only shore based. I’m fishing for things that 20 years ago I would consider using for bait😊. Great video and worth waiting for.
It's a lovely place dave isn't it. All those marks on the luce Bay side used to be crammed with bars of silver and now hardly anyone goes which is sad. Really good video mate thoroughly enjoyed it
Great video Dave, I never knew that type of competition existed, great to see all the species caught, I'm sure you and Gary will improve your catch rate the more knowledge you both have gained, keep up the good work, tight lines.
Im wanting to go next month camping for 3 days while we fish. Have never fished there before so hoping not to blank. Any suggestions as to where on the beach to fish
Hi David, Great video as always. Can I ask what make of line you used there? I have been having trouble with my pullys not lasting very long. Often after a session the rig body ends up with loads of memory and I think thats causing a lot of snags, Plus it means I'm having to replace bits often. Cheers Ben
@@CoastlineFishing hi Ben, thanks very much. The line I use is Asso and Amnesia. Are you using a swivel as your pulley system by any chance? If so, have a go at the trident pulleys. Also, if you don’t already, run the rig body and Hook length through your hands to create a bit of heat. You should find that will straighten the line and help it to go limp, hopefully reducing tangles. Hope that helps.
@@fullcircleangling thanks David. Yes correct, I am using a swivel, maybe that is the cause?…. I used the first generation of the trident aero pulley but I have not tried the ones you have there with the little bearing, might give that a shot and see. Thanks for the tips on the line though, I’m look to try some of that. Buzzing for the winter season! Cheers Ben
@@CoastlineFishing could well be Ben. See how the new trident pulley treats you. Hopefully solves the problem. Also for rough ground fishing, don’t use the same rigs for more than one session, make new ones up every time👍
@@fullcircleangling just doing an order now to get rig making 👍🏼 thanks for the pointers. I’ll make sure to rotate them more often. Looking forward to the next video, cheers.
Tough session that David .. well done for attempting it in those conditions 👍🏻 great footage as always .. great effort with a bad hangover too .. tight lines bud
It definitely is mate, pretty much a saltwater version of the carp anglers hair rig. Granted the hook won’t have the same articulation as it would with a surgeons loop, but I’m sure the fish won’t mind that if they like the bait 🤷♂️
Hi David, another good video. A problem with keeping your hands clean when fishing proms and piers etc is easily sorted by the use of a bucket on a rope. I drill a small hole on the edge and fix a Breakaway Fast link on a cable tie and clip on a sinker as this tips it up and helps it fill easier.k
Loved the video mate. Wives let me and my buddy out yesterday on the Holderness Coast. When you don’t live near the coast and they give you the green light, we fish whatever the conditions, whatever the bait we can get etc. No bites all day, but loved it. Your videos whether you catch or not keep these land locked Yorkshiremen going, so keep making them. Tight lines 👍🏻
Good video marra 👏👏 think you'll struggle on a big tide with braid tbf..mono still rocks on the west coast 😁 surprised you never got a take on fresh crab but this time of year id rather use king prawn/squid cocktail 👀I'm still chasing 🦈on fresh maccy 💪🤞👍
Nice video unlucky on the blank 9m tide to big for there as fished it once before and found 7 to 8m tide better and not fish it in a western especially strong westerly I prefer it to be of the land onto the sea over that way you need to be fishing in a easterly or south easterly as the wind be of your back yes the weed does back of but nice try anyway
@@fullcircleangling aye mate it's hard when tides are big. Am canny mate just had a week off work for bait digging. Off to holderness tomorrow afternoon
Hi Dave, I agree the techniums are very big and the line guard can cause trouble! The new power aeros are a lovely reel, very solid, can get a PG version as well.
Great video Dave, very trying conditions, I'm no hound expert but it looked a bit rough for a hound, no one can say you don't try especially after a night on the lash, I'm sure a nice fish is on the cards coming into the winter, keep it up mate, tight lines.
