Happy to say that I've managed to get my hands on this bad girl and it is absolutely great. The best T.rex in my collection so far, my other favorites being the prime 1 rotunda Rex and the w-dragon male Tyrannosaurus (1/20 scale).
@jasonp567 Hello! I just find this to be the closest to the original films, as far as the model itself goes (you can also catch a glimpse of this exact model in the making of the lost world), it's also my biggest Rex by far. I should mention that the Rotunda Rex I have is the smaller one without the Raptors, if I had the bigger one I might think otherwise. I'm also waiting for the cliff attack model to arrive.
I just saw most of these are up for preorder now, did you pick any of these up. Looks like the Trex claw doesn't come with that excellent base from the show, just a acrylic base which is a bummer.
Awesome statue, however I do agree with you on the overall paint, it’s too grey and boring. I think going with two similar colored dinosaurs was a bad move. I had the opportunity to pick up this one up for a good price last year but ended up not doing it for that reason alone.
My man has great taste in movies and cars, definitely on my list of friends. I'm building a plum crazy challenger and a multiple factory paint code in one car.
I think I was about 10 years old when these came out along with the movie. I had older dino toys, and they were very crude. When the JP toys came out they looked very realistic to me, I remember being very impressed. The young t-rex was the first one I got, and at the time it felt like owning a real actual dinosaur. They were very expensive though, a lot of nagging had to be done for my parents to buy me one.
This was right down the road from my house. I went down with my son and daughter and we watched them film the entire thing. We were right across the street from the 76 station watching. They took a break and while waiting for them to start filming again my son said he was hungry. I told him they had a craft services set up behind the 76 station and if he just acted like he belonged there nobody would bother him. He walked across the street and came back with snacks for all of us. :)
Your collection is absolutelly incredible. Just looking at these gives such a beautiful feeling of the excitement like back in the day or in the movie theater watching the original JP beginning 90s! How much does a paintjob cost, for ex. the Dilophosaur? Alice's work is absolutelly stunning!
I love the JP1 raptor but this thing is again not accurate like almost everything you can find. I'm so anoyed by all the wrong paintjobs, that i just bought a collosal blue and made a JP1 raptor my self. Sure, the cast isn't that good but the paintjob is how it should be and it's less than 1/25 of the price o.0
