@@JurassicCorner When I saw SW maquette owned by Steve Spielberg I fell in love with it and wanted one but nothing came close to it in my opinion... although this ECC piece lacks detail like the other maquette, it is pretty close. I hope they will fix that... Here is the original maquette... us-browse.startpage.com/av/anon-image?piurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.picclickimg.com%2Fd%2Fl400%2Fpict%2F263469218186_%2F15-T-Rex-Head-Maquette-Jurassic-Park-Steven-Spielberg.jpg&sp=1658528210Tb298156acbaa713905c77913f8fb420659d95daf7c069f2c9ea0f5da817cff5a
Happy to say that I've managed to get my hands on this bad girl and it is absolutely great. The best T.rex in my collection so far, my other favorites being the prime 1 rotunda Rex and the w-dragon male Tyrannosaurus (1/20 scale).
@jasonp567 Hello! I just find this to be the closest to the original films, as far as the model itself goes (you can also catch a glimpse of this exact model in the making of the lost world), it's also my biggest Rex by far. I should mention that the Rotunda Rex I have is the smaller one without the Raptors, if I had the bigger one I might think otherwise. I'm also waiting for the cliff attack model to arrive.
I have the rotunda Rex from P1 and that diorama has so much going on and looks so brutal I definitely still favor that one. This has more of a studio maquette feel which I love as well, and is very similar to the one owned by Spielberg that resides at Amblin. As for size, this is 1/12 vs 1/8 (rotunda) but this doesn’t seem much smaller at all. They feel very close scale wise.
Technology will always be a worse buy because it will always devalue with time. Limited collectibles may go down in price as well but will almost always retain a good resale value and sometimes even go up. While these “Toys” do cost outrageous prices ,unlike a 4090 which will be dramatically worth less in 5 years.
How are we gonna be able to preorder this ? Ecc website doesn’t look very promising, and i was wondering where to look for the po information. I need this, if I’m not mistaken its a replica of the painting reference maquette for the life size animatronic head. Its a piece of jp history. Thank you for the great video, incredible channel
Apparently it wasn’t ready to be revealed just yet as it’s still in development, so PO info might not be clear for sometime. And yes this is very close to a specific version of a SWS maquette.
I have the P1 breakout Rex and love it. This ECC piece is feels like a true production piece for the film. I’ve pre ordered this ECC Rex and will make a video review when it arrives later this year.
But, where to buy it? World Wide Shipping? ..... sculpt detail are non existant, eyes look weird, base looks cheap, the pose is strange... I wouldn't pay more than $700 for this. 😰
It’s a joke??? It’s a perfect réplica of rexi of stan Winston ! You can’t do more accurate 🤦♂️. I have the chronicle, the prime 1 and the iron studio T. rex and it’s for me the best T. rex ever made at first view 🧐
@@denischizallet818 Chronicle goat version is not as detailed.. or as well painted, the great thing about it is actually how realisitic it was sculpted... marvelous, the Iron Studios is a complete pass... for me the greatest T-Rex is Prime 1 Studios "Fallen Kingdom" and carno piece, the one that includes Owen... not any other stands next to it... Incroyable. THIS... is perfect as a replica, considering this replica is exactly like the replica they had.. wich wasn't detailed at all... just to start, the T-Rex you watch in the film, a complete different deal, extremele detailed, made for the movie, the small replica they did for the Stan Winston Studio was never ment to be displayed, it was created really fast, and they did not cared about making it ultra detailed... But, yet still, If you judge this specific sculpt, even the guy filming it said... details are not as good... so, it seems I'm not alone... this was a great chance and they missed it, the pose looks absolutely weird... It will never work for closeups, painting looks fine, not excelent, the base... OMG... that's the wors about this piece, specially after watching Prime 1 bases... they are just too good next to this ugly thing...
@@jesusramos7421 It is good, not great.. not for me, and I am a designer - fan of the franchise, I might pay $850... no more... impossible... it does not have the high quality we are looking forward to find.
@@blakegt.7326 This post if full of inaccuracies. The 1:5 Maquettes made by SWS were not created "really fast", and were fully intended to be used in the film as rod puppets before the production went for CG. I personally own the Chronicle cast of one of these, and microdetail on the body sculpt is quite literally light years ahead of any Prime 1 JP Rex ever produced, and i would know as i own them all. The 1:5 also served as reference for both full size animatronics and ILM digital version, as it's the literal and physical Master for both of these. You may find the pose weird for some reason, but it's what Stan Winston Studio themselves decided was the best possible one and i couldn't possibly agree with them more.
Hey mate! So I wanted to ask your opinion. Which would you say is the better piece - this one by ECC or the 1/8 Rotunda rex by Prime 1? It’s looking like I can get one or the other but not sure which to choose. I know you own the P1 version and you have seen this one in person so thought your opinion would be best. Thanks 👍
The 1/8 Rotunda is definitely more impressive, though it’s size makes it more difficult to display. This ECC piece has the SWS lineage and feels like a production maquette from the original film. Hard to pick but maybe rotunda for overall wow factor. I do have the ECC on order as well.
I have the same doubt man 😂 I ordered La Rotunda, but this one it’s very impressive and the thing that SWS collaborates to do it, make this maquette a very exclusive piece. La Rotunda pose it’s so far better, but this one it’s an amazing piece
