Yes, removed and yes, no rear SS badge on rear of this 1970 monte. I believe you may be confusing a rear badge with the 1971 Monte SS. Thanks for checking it out !
Sorry for the delayed response. I appreciate that ! Im more than willing to give guidance unfortunately since this vid, i have some physical challenges that don’t allow me to build like I used to. 💪🏾👊🏾
Thing was it didn't take many options to get the price to over $5000 where the GTO was far cheaper with options. Those came out in '64 & ended in '67. I had a '65 in '67, 421 HO, 4-speed.
Great vido bro I have a Olds 78 88 Delta with a 403 engine.. I wanna rebuild it maybe but a Holley EFI on it give it about 350 HP u think that will be more than 6 or 7k?
Sounds like a nice build ! Olds typically are a little more costly to build. To get what I call reliable and lasting horsepower, you will need good heads and cam. With the olds you have good torque numbers so gear and converter will be your friend. I think that budget will get you there 👍🏾
@@onjunk4life thanks man I appreciate u bro one more question. Do u think about a Ls swap(6.2 or 6.0)in the olds u think it would be better and cheaper?
All depending on your goals. Reliability and out of the box HP the 6.2 is the way to go but upfront they are costly. Lq9 6.0 a little less to buy and a good cam like the T-Rex and supporting mods and you got a killer. The olds motor imo is a great foundation and torque will move the weight. All out HP would just cost as much as LS but the reliability and non fi will suffer a bit. Just start with your goal and work backwards to see what will best suit your needs. Im getting ready to build a 355 with 8:5:1 compression, good heads and a 671 dual carb Supercharger…. Why ? Cause I can….. Do You 💪🏾✌🏾
@@onjunk4life💪💪💪🤯🤯that 355 gone be Beast..I like they way u think Bro and ur Energy I'mma take ur advice weight my options I'll be sure to let u know how it turned out ❗❗keep doing ur thang bro 🤙I'll be in touch with u
They both drive awesome. In current state the Malibu would take the win. The LS has great drivability but normally aspirated cant compete with a good head, cam, converter and some gear. The LS elco though, you can get on it and cant hurt it, jump on the highway and never have to watch your gauges, if you know what i mean…lol. The Malibu is more raw but exhaust gets attention and just the sound and vibrations you het from a small block and gear cant be beat ! Overall…. You cant loose with either combo. A 383 would be a clear winner here imo, Go For It ! 💪🏾
A friend of mine's mother had one back in the early '70's in green 2 tone. Her husband had owned the Chevrolet dealership in our small town of DeQuincy, LA called Jameson Chevrolet before he accidentally shot himself and died. Her son Craig used to drive it a lot and he was about my age, early 20's. We had a lot of fun with that car, shutting people down from the stop light in Lake Charles, LA, which was a much larger town about 25 miles away. This luxury car had some serious performance for a factory equipped car, a real "sleeper!" What fun we had back in those days. 😁😉
Not to be a richard, but the 1st gen Monte does not have the same chassis as any Chevelle. The Monte chassis is longer in the 1st gen. The cluster has the same gauge arrangement in Chevelle and Monte but the backlighting is different. Monte - green ..... Chevelle - blue.
@@danjanes8689 I had a 70 and a 72. Both had green. Bought a cluster with gauges and tach from a 70 Chevelle, it had blue. Swapped the gauges into the green. Not trying to argue. Just stating what I know. As a teen, I worked in a place that sold these kinds of parts used.
You got the baddest Chevelle chevy ever made. And a convertible ta boot. And nothing looks better on a muscle car than classic cragars ss. What's under her hood💪
Thanks ! She was an original small block 350 car then I installed a built 454. Before paint 20years ago pulled the bbc and put a small block back in her just to move it around and never took it back out 😂… True story. It needs the Big block back in her for sure ! Check out the full video of her under the channel. Thanks for checking her out 👊🏾
Why would you get hate on a nomad it's a classic tim allen owned the own they use on home improvement but he sold it in a auction to raise money for the 911 attack in 2001
I think its folks that never had, don’t have and cant have. True enthusiast see through dust and rust and enjoy it no matter the circumstances. Thanks for checking it out !👍🏾
I have to say the small block sounds better but I chose ls for performance, reliability, and better gas mileage than small block but I would have went fuel injection.
I agree ! Yea it was my first ls build like 10 years ago. I was doing it on a budget and i already had the new carb. I think phase 2 is holley terminator and a good turbo. Im gonna set a goal of drive ability and low 11’s. Stay tuned. Ps… I also have a 6.0 LS swapped, fuel injected foxbody with a S475 turbo. She’s mainly drag only but i love the instant start up and tune ability. Thanks for checking out the channel !
@@onjunk4life I built a turbo 5.3 all stock with 6 pounds of boost in a long bed single cab with 2010 escalade front clip. People useto trip out like what did I just lose to? 😅
If you're using a factory tach and gauge cluster to identify an SS, that doesn't work. Those options were not part of the SS454 option package. Same with the Chevelles.
I still have the LS Elco and drive it on the regular weather permitting. I have plans to big cam and fuel injection and possibly swap the turbo 6.0 out of my LS swapped Foxbody Stang thats under my channel videos. The malibu know as “Grimey” went to my guy in the video. He had to have it ! He has done all new suspension components front to back consisting of qa1 double adj and the works. He finished up the car where I left off. It has turned into a dead on reliable, beat on anytime anywhere and drive it in any weather any distance without worry car. He said it’s the best Onjunk car he has owned, he loves it ! Stay tuned, as soon as the weather breaks we are doing a where are they now video. Should be cool ! Thanks for checking it out and tuning in 👍🏾✌🏾
