No it's not very heavy at all. Only about 46 pounds. Really easy to carry. This motor is lighter than my 1963 6 HP sea king. It's a really solid outboard in my opinion. I like mine.
Came here for exactly what I seen..gonna get one of these for a kicker on my 1650 crestliner. I was Hoping they were not loud and yours seems very quiet
Wow.....what a fun trip! Those were some real hawgs!!! I'm going to Lake Michigan next July, it will be only my second trip but I'm going so much more educated because of RU-vid.
Question, did yours vibrate really aggressive during the break in period? Mine really vibrates at 1/4 throttle like really bad. Some say new outboards will do that but it just feels a bit aggressive. Since you have a lot of hours on yours, does it calm down at all? Thanks
@@leoscomputerandguitarrevie978 Mine seemed to smooth out over time but since it’s only a single cylinder outboard there will probably always be some vibration. I don’t believe there was any vibration dampeners built into this outboard
@@CaptainLou94Thank you. So my update is that I have 12 hours on the motor now and the vibrations have smoothed out up to half throttle. 3/4 throttle and full throttle are still a little shaky but getting better. Really love this motor for trolling. Does an excellent job for fishing. Thanks for your video. It helped me into my buying decision on this.
I just bought this and it started on the third pull. Its been broken in for 2 hours, so got another 6 hours to go so hopefully can finish the break in period within the next couple of day's. Runs very well.
@paulkuzia9236 I cook them in the pan skin side down 3/4 of the way through before finishing on the meat side. Olive oil in the pan, some black pepper, kosher salt, paprika. Baste with 2 tablespoons of butter before pulling them out. I think they taste great. Smoked is the best way to cook them from what I’ve heard.
I just got one delivered. I have yet to start messing with it. I started looking online for an owner's manual because I am at work and 90% of the time there is nothing to do BUT shop and watch RU-vid. So, I want to ask you some things about this motor. Did you start out 50:1 on the fuel? Because the manual said something about 25:1 also. Not sure how that works yet. Did you have to do some test (break it in) runs? I saw one video where one guy had to break it in for like about 22 hours in different speeds. Do you mix the fuel or is there a gas tank and a separate oil tank? I have a fuel tank for a boat I found at my father in laws OLD shop. Just need a sending unit. Also, what size fuel line do i need with my tank?
@@richierasmussen3086 I have since sold the motor with my boat but here is what I remember. The first 10 hours (break in period) the fuel should be mixed 25:1. You don’t want to go full throttle in the first 10 hours. 1/4-1/2 throttle for the first 5 hours and then 1/4-3/4 throttle for the next 5 hours. After the initial break in you can start running 50:1 fuel mix and open it up to full throttle safely. I always kept the built in fuel tank on the motor full as a back up supply in case I ran out in my external tank. And for the external tank 5/16 fuel line with the primer bulb worked great. You can get one of those right on Amazon in your desired length. I would also go with the quicksilver 2 stroke oil. Very little smoke with that and the plug never fouled even with hours of trolling. I had a little over 100 hours on mine when I sold it. Also make sure the lower unit has gear oil in it. Mine didn’t come full from the factory. Change the gear oil after the first 10 hours of break in also. Take care of it and it will last you a long time 👍
Where do you find ref that it is a knock off Tohatsu/Nissan? I want to confirm if spare parts are interchangeable and if their external fuel tank works. Does the exhaust have a mini muffler and where does it come out? Also, what spark plug does it use? Thanks!
@@KevinTorres-zw9bt I’m setting up a new boat for next year to run charters and will have a video up in the next month of my setup. Would be happy to take you out for them next spring/summer.
I just bought a used one in really good shape. Unfortunately, while washing it I discouvered that it must of spent sometime stored in the sun as there are what appear to be spider micro cracking on the bottom of the hull. I am guessing if it were a darker color it would not have this. Oh well its stored in the shade now and not likely to get bashed so it should last me for awhile.
@@Matthew-wn8oq All about how they are prepared I think. Parents were never a fan of salmon until I cooked it for them and now they can’t get enough of it lol
@@captain-Ricky-Bones I bought it on eBay. Link is in the description. I found out that to tilt it up and down the shift lever has to be in the forward position
@@CaptainLou94 I was asking about Title. Did you have any problems getting one in the US? What about the documentation it came with? Manufacturers Statement of Origin came with it in the original packaging?
@AlexViardo Yes I’m on my boat. I’m fully certified for charters. Once my official Red Coast Guard Booklet comes in the mail I can get a date set up with you. My cell is (607) 287-7155 for updates. Thanks, Captain Lou
Loved it when you swept the lures off the box with the net.. 😂. I'm still halfway through the video... Was hoping you would show what you were doing in the stuff you were using.
*It's not a stihl or johnsered but for the price you cannot top this saw.🌳 **allabout.wiki/Poulan** MTD made. Cast crankcase not plastic. Good oiling system. Not too heavy. Great power. Starts easily cold or warm. Case is huge. I like.*
Nice work. I'm glad I found this video. I wondered if anyone had figured this out yet or not. I hope to see more of the modifications that you make on this particular kayak.
They complain because they are hard to start sometimes I also adjusted Idle which most people are on instant gratification clause and don't want to bother with Idle. For the money its good .
*The carry bag was not included in the box with the kayak. つつ>**share4.photo/PKayak?13** I called the company and was told the bag is not available. So, no bag to carry the kayak with......very unhappy as the box showed and listed a carry bag in the description of items therein. I was told to get a carry bag on my own .*
