Where do you find ref that it is a knock off Tohatsu/Nissan? I want to confirm if spare parts are interchangeable and if their external fuel tank works. Does the exhaust have a mini muffler and where does it come out? Also, what spark plug does it use? Thanks!

I use mine with an external tank and yes its a copy of Tohatsu 6hp and parts are interchangeable.

I just bought this and it started on the third pull. Its been broken in for 2 hours, so got another 6 hours to go so hopefully can finish the break in period within the next couple of day's. Runs very well.

I just got one delivered. I have yet to start messing with it. I started looking online for an owner's manual because I am at work and 90% of the time there is nothing to do BUT shop and watch RU-vid. So, I want to ask you some things about this motor. Did you start out 50:1 on the fuel? Because the manual said something about 25:1 also. Not sure how that works yet. Did you have to do some test (break it in) runs? I saw one video where one guy had to break it in for like about 22 hours in different speeds. Do you mix the fuel or is there a gas tank and a separate oil tank? I have a fuel tank for a boat I found at my father in laws OLD shop. Just need a sending unit. Also, what size fuel line do i need with my tank?

@@richierasmussen3086 I have since sold the motor with my boat but here is what I remember. The first 10 hours (break in period) the fuel should be mixed 25:1. You don’t want to go full throttle in the first 10 hours. 1/4-1/2 throttle for the first 5 hours and then 1/4-3/4 throttle for the next 5 hours. After the initial break in you can start running 50:1 fuel mix and open it up to full throttle safely. I always kept the built in fuel tank on the motor full as a back up supply in case I ran out in my external tank. And for the external tank 5/16 fuel line with the primer bulb worked great. You can get one of those right on Amazon in your desired length. I would also go with the quicksilver 2 stroke oil. Very little smoke with that and the plug never fouled even with hours of trolling. I had a little over 100 hours on mine when I sold it. Also make sure the lower unit has gear oil in it. Mine didn’t come full from the factory. Change the gear oil after the first 10 hours of break in also. Take care of it and it will last you a long time 👍

Question, did yours vibrate really aggressive during the break in period? Mine really vibrates at 1/4 throttle like really bad. Some say new outboards will do that but it just feels a bit aggressive. Since you have a lot of hours on yours, does it calm down at all? Thanks
@CaptainLou94
@CaptainLou94 27 дней назад
@@leoscomputerandguitarrevie978 Mine seemed to smooth out over time but since it’s only a single cylinder outboard there will probably always be some vibration. I don’t believe there was any vibration dampeners built into this outboard

@@CaptainLou94Thank you. So my update is that I have 12 hours on the motor now and the vibrations have smoothed out up to half throttle. 3/4 throttle and full throttle are still a little shaky but getting better. Really love this motor for trolling. Does an excellent job for fishing. Thanks for your video. It helped me into my buying decision on this.

@leoscomputerandguitarrevie978 19 дней назад
No it's not very heavy at all. Only about 46 pounds. Really easy to carry. This motor is lighter than my 1963 6 HP sea king. It's a really solid outboard in my opinion. I like mine.

Thanks for sharing when you said that was full throttle I was surprised it seemed more like a two hp motor compared to its counterpart motors.

Did you buy this through one of the Chinese websites (Ali Express or Temu)? If so, did you have any problems with titling it?

Just title your boat. You don't have to title a motor. If your boat is rated for 10hp then that's what you title it for.
