The majority of contact is actually with the front of my shin here. There are numerous ways to land a leg kick, different variations for different situations, for maximum downward force you would rotate all the way and make contact with the sharpest part of your shin, however for speed and different angles you can rotate less, potentially losing some power for speed and accuracy. I like to think you've been stocking up and making videos all these days 🙃Bangladesh needs a proper MMA community. You, mok rahman and shah Kamali is pretty much all we've got. Do you have any plans to come to bangladesh? would love to know
I wish I had, I have just been very busy working on the new gym and also dealing with multiple injuries, but alhamdulilah everything is going well now 👊
You should have at least a small bend on the support leg regardless of kick height, locked out knees can be an injury risk too. How much you bend the knee varies depending on the kick technique and set ups used
Good question, I didn't cover body shots in this short video, will look to cover it in a future video. Generally you would tuck your elbows in as you see a body shot coming, but there are more details to consider.
I always say if a pro fighter in todays age mastered the ali shuffle it would change his career the ali shuffle isnt for show its a versatile and distracting movement that can seitch the pivot and generate standing momentum for an impact the way ali did it was almost as if he was floating or frictionless he was truly the master.
First video I’ve seen to actually explain this in a clear, concise and helpful manner (and distinguish between how to use it as a party trick vs. an actual fight technique)
It definitely especially if your opponent is using punches as their main form of offense. However you just can’t stay in it like in boxing you need to move in and out of the guard depending on what strategy is needed. If you are fighting a ground fighter you would be able to more quickly snuff the takedown because your lead hand is already close to the ground. Kicks are where you may run into some trouble however due to the fact that if you try to shoulder roll a kick most likely your shoulder is going to shatter or you will simply need to lean to far back and you may loose balance. However if you are very adaptable and are able to adjust well to the fighter then sure it definitely can work.
I had my first amateur kickboxing fight yesterday, we had to do weigh in videos and I thought this is such a stupid idea. I felt like I was dying to cut the weight to make it to 62kg seeing as it was my first time and my only resources was an exercise bike and a makeshift sauna via hot bath but I was over the moon when I finally made the weight. To think that it's actually that easy to cheat the scale is shocking. Thankfully I won my fight in the first round and took minimal damage but after seeing this I don't want to accept a fight that does weigh ins like this again.
Yes I believe video weigh ins are rediculous and dangerous in my opinion. Send this video to anyone that disputes it. Glad you won the fight though, keep it up 👊
