All you need to bypass the kill switch is a wire with alligator clips on each end hook one to the battery terminal and the other end to the positive wire before the kills witch takes 2 secs
I have a question, can I connect fuse block to motorcycle kill switch and use it for accessories only ..Instead of tapping into the motorcycle wiring I can go straight to the battery and switch it off when not used ??

My grandfather left me an 85’ 380sl. Unfortunately the engine needs to be rebuilt due to sitting for 15+ years. If we’re not able to get it running again, we were thinking of doing an LS3 swap if possible. The biggest thing we want to see is the car driving again and we would love to have something with more power so we can have some fun with it!
Do it! Plus it will be worth it. 380sl isn't worth it imo. If it's a 560sl then I would try to get it running. I'll be uploading more videos next month. Trust me the work is worth it. Let me know if you have any questions.
@@leesgarage7 I personally just want to see the car running, it would mean a lot to me to get it driving again. But if we’re gonna spend a lot of time and money on it to get it running again, we might as well put something in it that we can have fun with (such as the LS). We’re not mechanically inclined by any means so this kind of project would be done by a shop. And here in NY, I’m sure labor alone would cost and arm and a leg.
It is. As for the 380sl engine, make sure the fuel system is working properly. Set a budget of $8-$10k if you plan on doing it yourself. Hardest part is welding mounts and drive line angle. I wasn't mechanical incline in the beginning. Just a lot of research!
@@leesgarage7 Wow thanks for sharing. There’s a 1980 450SLC that my uncle has that he wants to give to me if I’m able to fix it, the transmission is missing and the engine’s pistons are stuck. I was looking to do an engine swap and put an American v8 into it. But since I’m a 17 year old I feel that money will be hard to come by. Also how long did it take you to properly put the swapped parts and the wiring altogether? Thanks for sharing
Lol. Mine just hit 450k miles. Been considering a LS swap in mine or a 383 stroker at least while I rebuild mine. Still runs strong but noticing oil smoke out the exhaust and think the valves needs to be replaced and sealed and figured "Why not do it all" purist can eat it because I'm never selling my W116 450SEL 6.9l.
