Can't remember on this one but if it was damp from weatger or just scratched fresh a day or 2 I might nit have wet it at all but if it was sitting a week or more for sure woukd give it a nice wet not loads byt enough to take the sting out of it mate
Belle capacitor amzn.to/4eFwqKm The plug i Used RCD = amzn.to/4067KpR new mixer electric - amzn.to/3zXKMqe new mixer petrol - amzn.to/3U9jq7r tempted to get this one myself its cheap? amzn.to/3Y7yx2q
Loads of people would just throw it away and buy a new one but that's the same with most tools. Spending half an hour changing a few bits to get a few more years out of your tools
@jimmysbuildingservices7288 that's it these mixers will work forever with just a few parts needed such as the belt or wires or this capacitor after I'm not sure on the fear box but that might be an expensive part same as the drum but I wish more things where made simple so we can fix it easily with out needing to rebuy all the time
Haha thanks man yes the magnet on that tape is strong for sure going to be using that and the square here soon put some timbers in that'll be a video down the line :) loads to get edited and uploaded its unreal
What color just cement colour to be honest it wouldn't be much of a challenge to do :) On the channel there's a few videos where I have replicated bricks , textured ceilings and cornice its something that is enjoyable :)
You’re a genius! I just did the test on an exposed bit of adhesive and it’s softened up A LOT, so I’m a lot less stressed about starting to remove the tile…big thanks from a Cavan woman 🙌 (you sound like a fellow Ulster head to me 😇)
@orlaporlypuddinnpie haha been called a few things in my time but not to many times a genius =) yes ulster from Belfast originally but out a little now .. so glad this us going to help you Orla and thanks again for the comment
@@macplastering well you’re a genius in my eyes! I wouldn’t have thought Antrim from your accent but I love Belfast, it’s a great city! I’m starting the project at Halloween when I have a few days off work so if it’s successful I’ll let ya know 😂 if you never hear from me again, I failed massively and had to hire it out hahaha 😂
@orlaporlypuddinnpie thank you yes well if your test went good I'm sure they used the same adhesive all over hopefully. Not to far from Antrim... Yes for sure keep me updated on your progress also a few videos on removing tiles as that can be hard work also
@darren92redrum67 100% mate but was don't a little to dodgy the garage actually has its own block walls to so it must have been a complete after thought
Might be best to chip that area back to brick and start again but most important is to find out why there is damp and stop that at source be it a leak lack of air flow ect ect
@@macplastering it's odd spot were it is, its just below ceiling height, will check 2 c what is causing it, was going 2 sbr it neat mix, wait for it to dry then bond it and skim it,
Don't use bonding if risk of damp anywhere near mate its bad for damp its like a sponge would make it worse , might be a gutter ? or slate loose near that area ?
What a job. The weather and the wall trying to fall down and all the pot holes to get it that straight and flat. I dont do any form of rendering after the 2nd week of September.
@@jimmysbuildingservices7288 That's true people cannot always wait I find people i have done work for in past would let me book them in with a longer wait as they know the work they will get
Brilliant video , perfect example of rendering because you had to cover all aspects of getting the job done because the wall was so awful, cannot say i am surprised at the result because i know how good you are at rendering and obviously the wall ended up perfect . For anyone who reads the comments SUBSCRIBE because as i mentioned previously i rendered the back of my house with zero experience from watching the videos over and over again until all the info soaked in .
I would say this one came up pretty good for all gge conditions. Haha, weather was one of the biggest nightmares on it Simon a little rain can do bad damage 💔 thanks again for watching and supporting Simon mate
@shadow_bandit403 where about are u m8? This is a little away from plastering stage but if I mange to get windows in and gutters, ectc done the outside is ready
@@macplastering A few crack in the plaster that go through to the brickwork. I stripped them back and scudded the bricks with your scudmix, then 4-1 render and finished it with carlite
Thank you mate yes going OK here very busy on our new build and trying to work as much as possible to keep the ball rolling haha how have you been mate?
I put carlite finish skim over old carlite finish, sbr'd it first. When trowelling up, second wet trowel. some bits had gone dark and set hard and other bits were still wet, when I wet trowelled the wet bits it bulged into a lump and moved about and some bits turned bumpy like orange peel. I left it another half hour then an hour to finish off those bits and it eventually looked ok, but was a lot of work. Any idea whats going on? Also the bag was 5 days past its date 🙂
@@shadow_bandit403 had a night mare today where we had wall gritted day before but one corner was a mess ended had to cut it out and mix a hawk full n get it sorted .But it was nasty going like you said butit was down to the grit job we did, possiby the sbr is just to strong holding in back to much not allowing for any suction ? I mostly go over pva myself mate The 5 days out of date shouldn't have been much a factor
Great video once again. I have a pine ceiling attached to attic joists. Wondering if I could screw these insulation boards to the pine ceiling then skim directly onto the insulation board? Thanks 😀
is it the plasterboard sheets with insulation on them? I have done that on a few jobs before it sure dose work well and might have to do that on some areas on the new build
had a few guys thinking or telling me they couldn't believe that I would build a chimney without a lead tray erm - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A65zfh_xxSI.html
Not criticising the screeding or the video poster but burying a compression joint in the floor is not the done thing. At the minimum you want a soldered joint and the chrome would need to be stripped off before you try to solver that.
So where would you use these kinds of fittings then just in a stud wall ? what would be the difference why is screed bad is it movement ? or lack of movement ? also would this mean you would need to wire brush the chrome of below floor level sort of thing ? thanks in advance
The corner trowel I bought was so far off 90 degrees it’s unusable, the regular trowel is perfect though. Shame about the quality control. I wonder if Marshalltown do a better corner trowel, or at least understand what a right angle is lol
@Beng12952 would have to say these are the best angle trowels I have used to date. Where did you buy from ? Also many corners builders build or joiners build are also not 90 as human error plus some just can't do better
@@macplastering This was so far off it was more like a 100 degree angle. I bought off Amazon but can’t see why they’d end up with more duds than the likes of Wickes. Totally new to plastering so barely know arse from elbow, but may just do window reveal corners with normal trowel
@Beng12952 so it's bent the worst way on you if its in ways would been so bad try get it returned? Wet angles are tought uou woukd be better starting out doing hard angles so you have a nice corner to work off
@@macplastering How do you mean wet vs hard angles? Do one side at a time and leave to dry? I’m using Toupret joint & skim to fill around corner beading. It was a real bodge it and scarper job left by a cowboy, who slapped on easifill and left for me to finish
Well done. Not many will do this job any more in Scotland- I guess the fact that it’s bloody hard work and makes one helluva mess puts people off but in my opinion it gives a better finish that dry dash especially if the surface is going to be painted in the years to come. Nice to see a tradie get stuck in to it. 👍🏻
Nice to start getting all the last little bits done makes you feel like you're getting there. I've been slowly getting through your videos. You are a master with sand and cement render, what do you think of the 1 coat renders i.e Webber OCR. Top job
Hi Jimmy mate they are ok but I do prefer mixing my own I do belive if things keep going the way they are the mixes will be lost as it will be just bags of things lol
Yeah I think it will be all bagged stuff. But I do struggle to get plastering sand on the Isle of Wight.... And have to mix building sand and grit sand together which ain't the best
@@macplastering hi Mac a video I remember well would be them rounded fancy columns in a back yard you done.i also was looking had you and lime mortar videos was supposed to do a job but never used it before and was weird of it,🤔
