Out Motorsports is a community for LGBTQ automotive enthusiasts and amateur motorsports competitors. We connect gay car enthusiasts online, host in-person events, feature members’ vehicles and projects, and review new cars.
Our new car reviews focus on fun street cars, sports cars, and SUVs and pickup trucks that can tow 5,000 pounds or more. We love a rorty, snorty V8 engine just as much as we love a good EV. Other outlets don't conduct towing reviews, but we do.
Come to one of our events in person, join our online "community of car gays" Discord or Zoom calls, and subscribe right here so you don't miss a new car review, new truck review, new SUV review, NASA racing, SCCA autocross and rallycross, and much more.
I feel like Cadillac is at the point where they could place with Lucid if they wanted, and Buick could step up to Mercedes, especially since they try to sell a GLB next to GTs. Envista is not a far reach from GLA, and let's be honest, GLS customers would not be able to differentiate an Enclave Avenir.
What i assume was the image stabilization made the video wonky, do not recommend. Perhaps a hand grip steady cam rig instead. Otherwise appreciated the video! Good presentation as always.
My 70 yo dad loves his Lyriq. Being a vertically challenged family, we like the sitting higher up feel w the low dash where we could actually see the road. So many other cars are so claustrophobic nowadays.
Unfortunately if you don't spend the money for the upper trim levels there is no easy way to add a brake controller without cutting and splicing wires and possibly creating faults in the computer . I wound up trading in my 2024 for a low mileage 2023 . I've owned 6 Tacomas and Toyota really let me down with the 2024
This is maxed out so that's pretty impressive. If you're towing this much very often, get a Tundra. A lot of Tacoma fans aren't towing at all, around here they all have dirt bikes in the bed. Toyota knows this and targeted its audience. Just nice to know that on the rare occasion that I do need to tow something, it would do fine.
Great review and spot on. My wife has been driving a white R-line for a month and loves it. I got her the Atlas and took her 2023 ID4. We dont have any trouble with the touch controls (familiar since we have the ID4). I tend to just tap for volume and temp changes instead of swiping; the response is fast enough. I agree, they should be back lit. The Atlas works well for it's intended customer, which isn't a car enthusiast like me. The 2.0 liter engine (a detuned Golf R plant) is a bit loud until you're up to speed but it's not bad and doesn't struggle; if you put it in sport mode the fake V6 sound is pumped into the cabin. 😅 The Atlas LED on the passenger side dash trim is a nice effect at night. I wouldn't have an Atlas for my personal vehicle, but it's perfect for my wife who wants to drive a marshmallow with light steering and lots of room. The Atlas is a good value, we bought it for $48K which is several thousand less than the competition we were cross shopping.
I was eating outside at an Italian restaurant in Stephens City Va when I saw you drive this rig through the parking lot while filming this video, funny I just found this.
I own a ‘24 Atlas Cross Sport and love it. Never had an issue with the touch controls. Yes it took me a few days to learn but that is true for any new car.
It looks like a truly good drivers car, though I still lament the lack of the manual being offered. The auto might be better in nearly every way, but there is still something about rowing your own gears even if it does have it's flaws comparatively.
I thought it was my computer, but looks like there might be a video processing issue at 5:37. Audio still comes through but the frame freezes until 6:26.
The 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost beats anything from the original muscle days so why send the extra money on the GT with more horsepower you really do not need.
What a lie poor shit truck on a clean clear day with little wind and 2500 max it was shiting it self it was struggling constantly shifting to 5 gear to stay at 65 n 12 mpg and on a straight flat no traffic road what a joke tacoma trucks have become not to mention the built quality it's garbage viva Mexico, how do I know this I own the garbage I'm so sick and tired of it the brakes are shit also fknd 1980 brake system old tacoma's were good 90 to 01 from there on garbage max towing 2000 to 3000 at best don't push your luck tacomas made for the usa market are made to brake down to keep you buying new over and over can't do that in other countries or they will burn down all Toyota dealers it's the us we live in I can't wait to sell or trade this disappointment hyped of a so called truck!!!!
Thanks! The 2024 E-Transit gets faster charging speeds and more range, up to 159 miles on the low roof (+26%) or about 143 miles (+32%) on the high roof. So, should be more useful for more buyers now.
A family member of mine got one of these recently, and I was passenger in it yesterday for the first time. The interior is VERY poor quality. The center console in the second row was far from sturdy, and the lever that you adjust your seat with was even more wobbly. Low grade materials everywhere- including the seats that were very hard. The infotainment screen was hideous, and the poor sound insulation made road and engine noise crazy loud. This has a really nice look on the outside in my opinion, but I can honestly say this offers an incredibly poor riding experience. Anyone considering this should do themselves a favor and skip this option.
How would you rate the RWD models without the Dynamic Handling Package? Really want the package for the adaptive suspension and LSD, but it is really hard to find in the used market and spec it out as such for New.
Honestly hard to say without driving one... RWD with an open diff is not ideal (to me) so I'd push hard to find one with the limited slip. Adaptive suspension is nice but if you don't like the fixed-rate stuff, that is at least easier to replace through the aftermarket than the differential.
I noticed that you did not have any side mirror extensions. What was your feeling on the stock mirrors, especially with a trailer that width and length?
This is a great looking track. But I am surprised to see that PDR still looks like it has a sepia filter applied to the video. I last had PDR in 2018 Camaro and was hoping they'd have changed that by now. Still, it's a great feature and tool.
I think people who buy a lot of cars don't want screens everywhere, but The Industry has decided that's the current future (thanks, Tesla) so that's where we're going...
