@@NoahMarissa oh thank you! She went to the vet today and they did blood work and urinalysis and an X-ray to see if she has any tumors. Apparently what she has is sciatica. She doesn't even have arthritis. Poor cat. So the other tests will be back tomorrow. We appreciate your prayers. 🙏
I'm glad Cricket is doing better. ❤ We picked up Sam's (our dog) ashes today. I'm not sure how I feel having them. I don’t feel particularly comforted per se because the whole thing is terribly sad and he is not really there. The ashes came in a wooden box with his name engraved on top and the date of his death. My husband took care of the arrangements, but he didn’t pick anything out. They sent them that way, so must be what they do. Maybe at some point, I'll frame a picture of Sam and put it beside the box. I'm not sure. I spoke to a woman who told me she is having her dog's ashes buried with her. I guess that's another option. Although I still cry occasionally, it's not what it was, but I still feel far from "normal" or good. We have several cats buried in our back yard, too. I happened to read 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 this morning. That comforted me a bit. I'm in Ohio and they're clearing fields and that causes me headaches and allergies at times. I had allergy shots for 11 years, and they helped quite a bit. I don't get the shots now and my allergies have come back a bit, but not as bad as before. Other than that, I love the fall with all the colors. May the rest of this week go well with no further pet problems, and may God's comfort be with us! 💕
@@qtluvBilly3 honestly the only thing that comforts me is knowing he's not suffering anymore. I can't stand to see these babies suffer. 😕 Yeah I have been to the allergist and tested 2 diff times. I have non allergenic rhinitis and there are no shots for that. I use nasal rinse, nasal sprays, and antihistamines but it doesn't stop the infections. Thx for your kind comments! 💜💜💜💜💜
That was a big declutter pile! I wasn't overly hopeful that you'd post a video this week but it's nice to hear from you. It's good to see you are doing well, given the circumstances. When we had to let our dog go 3.5 years ago, that was the only time that my partner and I didn't have any pets remaining. He was adamant that we wouldn't get anymore pets after that heartbreak but my daughter moved back home with her bunny in the summer and he dotes on him like crazy. I'm afraid there will be a custody battle if she decides to move out again! 🐰♥
I absolutely dread when our last cat goes! I don't know how we will do it but vet bills are absolutely outrageous these days and our vet is already past retirement age so I think when the last one goes we will have to be done! Someone told me bunnies require almost no vet care. Not sure I believe that but you can let me know what you think about that. 💜 Thx for your kind words. You always do a great job of decluttering. How are you doing with the grieving process? Do you have any tips? Did Ranger have any leftover meds? I have a lot because it was refilled, but I guess I just throw them away in cat litter or something. The vet won't take them other than disposal. Seems so wasteful. I put his unopened dogfood at the post office on a table where people leave things for others to take. What did you do with his toys and stuff you used for him? I haven't been able to do anything with his stuff and put things out of sight for now. It's been Day 4. I'm still crying off and on, but it's less than it was, but I always have sadness. My husband and I went to the park today and took a walk. It was a beautiful day. And it was fun, but there's the underlying sadness and grief. I still hate coming home and leaving because I'd always pet Sam and he'd be so happy to see us. I can't even look at my backyard. Washing his bowl and pill box made me cry. Do you have any insights, tips thoughts, the way you've processed this that you'd be willing to share? Has it gotten easier for you? As a Christian, do you think we see our pets again? My friend said I should get another dog. Like you, my husband I want to travel some, even if just overnight. We want to be more free to come and go. We have two cats, but there's a little more freedom with cats. Anyway, anything you would be willing to offer to share would be most appreciated!❤
I think the main things over the years that have helped me is concentrating on the pets I still have bc as we've discussed their needs are many. Focusing on the fact that poor Ranger is no longer in any pain, no more stomach issues (which were really bad after that gallbladder surgery), no more breathing issues, just insert your sweet dogs issues into that and focus on how your baby is no longer suffering. Taking walks is a great idea. I didn't plan to do walks anymore as it would just remind me of him but after about 3 or 4 days I felt I had to start back or else I would go nuts. The first few days I didn't want to come home from errands or work even though I knew my hubby would be home soon. I had to make myself start home. Soooo hard!! The leaving for me wasn't as bad. Ranger had calmed down so much over the years and he knew the routine so he quit making a big deal of me leaving but coming home...yes! He was so excited to see us! Yes that part is very hard. Also the past few months after his cancer surgery I had to rush home every day and I hated leaving him at all so I do feel a freedom now that I can go and be gone a long time and I don't have to worry about him. He is safe now. I do feel like they are in a special place. I do hope we will be reunited but I can't say for sure. Just what I hope for personally. Someday maybe I can hold it together enough to discuss some of this at the end of a video but I don't know....as far as the meds go...in the past my vet would take them bc he knew me so well and knew I hadn't tampered with anything. He's not in his own practice anymore so I guess he won't be able to take them. I don't expect any money but would like someone who needs them or who has lots of pets and who could use the help to use them up. I prob have $400 in anxiety meds leftover bc they would keep running out of the generic so every time I could get it, I got another batch of it. So I now have several bottles of that. He never really needed anxiety meds after he got on all that stuff for his stomach so I had several months of it. Oh well....I also just bought 6 mos of flea stuff and I have four pills left. My friend who has the rescue could possibly use that. All of this stuff is very expensive. I gave all the dog food and treats away the first day bc my hubby was upset so I wanted to just get it all out of the house bf he got home. He took the brand new bag of food to the local shelter close to his office. I gave away all the stuff that was opened to the little food pantry across from me. I washed the dog beds and the cats are using those 😂😂 I did make myself go out into the yard and sit and enjoy the weather. Jasper my cat was out there with me so I wasn't so lonely. I see him everywhere. It is very hard. 💜💜💜💜 God bless y'all and I will be praying. 🙏🏼
Also stay tuned bc in my next video I talk about how I treated my cat with some of Rangers leftover meds on a weekend when I knew I couldn't see my vet. I usually don't throw any meds away but I don't think I can give the clomipramine (anxiety meds) to any cats.

I feel like if God gives us an animal to love deeply and to be loved back, then this will not be wasted? I've cried over my dog more than when my aunt died. I know I'll see her again because she loved Jesus. She was an animal lover, too.
My friend asked me why it is that we mourn them sometimes more than we do people. I think one reason is they are toddlers who never grow up. They always need us. You loved your aunt and she loved you but unless you were her caregiver at the end, she didn't need you like your dog did. Also they are just so innocent. I don't know why we love them so much or why it hurts so deeply but it does!!
Diana, Great declutter! I love those short sleeve t-shirts! Very nice, gosh I wish I was that size again. I so miss when I was in mediums and larges! We are getting a little taste of nice 70's today. So I went from a sweatshirt into a summer top. This may absolutely be the end of real nice days here. I too, can't leave my cats. They need us everyday! Love your videos!
Cats are needier than people think or at least mine are. After Sunshine nearly died of the platelet thing, I've been afraid to leave any of them. 💜💜💜 We are having a very warm day here too! I know he must value you and the way you care for your animals. ❤ We put our dog down yesterday, and I'm completely heartbroken. We had him 14 years. My son volunteered at the Humane Society when he was 12, and that's how we got him. He was estimated to be 2 years old. After my son moved out 3 years ago, I became his main person, although he loved everyone. You know how they follow you everywhere in the house. We've had several cats over the years and still have two. I love them, but this is the hardest, losing Sam. Two of my sons and my husband were there. Our youngest is military so he couldn't be there. The pets are truly family members. I have to believe our animals are in heaven. If ALL of creation groans, waiting for God and final glory, I have to believe.
I'm very sorry about Ranger. I feel and understand your grief. We're calling our vet tomorrow for our 16 year old dog. He has mouth cancer, and it's at the point where it has taken a turn where the quality of his life has gotten worse. Ever since we found out end of June, it's like every day is a hard day. You watch and monitor and analyze every symptom and change, try this, try that. You try and keep a normal routine and can put it out of your mind for a few brief moments. Them getting older and seeing those changes is hard enough. The decline is the worst. I know what you mean by feeling relief. We had a cat put down, and I think we waited too long, but the decision was so hard and I constantly wondered and worried if I was doing the right thing. I canceled and rescheduled the appt so many times. For our dog, this is the second time making an appt. I canceled the first and that was a couple weeks ago. It's hard seeing them in any kind of pain or suffering. Praying for comfort for you.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I totally understand the relief you feel. It's hard not to feel guilty about feeling relieved but you shared his journey here and it's proof that you did absolutely everything possible for him and you loved your little sidekick so much. Our last dog was sick from the age of 3 with pancreatitis and got lymphoma when she was 8. We were getting ready to spend over $10,000 on treatment but she declined so rapidly that we decided not to put her through travelling hours in the car when it probably wasn't going to help. Our dog rallied toward the end too so it was nice to spend some quality time together before giving her a cheeseburger and saying goodbye.
Oh my that's such a sad story! My friend's dog died recently and she also had pancreatitis. I'm so thankful Ranger was healthy his whole life til the past 6 mos. Other than the anxiety he really didn't have many health challenges. 😢😢😢😢
I watched the same (At What Cost) video and I was also really surprised that she didn't use or keep a small supply canned food. I was also shocked that they didn't have a generator in preparation for hurricane season.
@@jennyjenkins877 yeah the no canned food was super shocking! We have bad storms here and I don't know anyone around us with a generator. They are so loud you can hear them (the gas ones). They are pretty expensive for my neighborhood. We live in a low income area. It's a nice quiet neighborhood but we are more financially stable than most. I am really glad we got ours. did Ranger have blasto? My st bernard/bull mastiff mix had that. It started with a limp, and then it went to coughing and he had masses all over his lungs. The meds they can put them on will either be good or a turn for the worse. Jax passed the next day in my arms. It was awful :( I am so so sorry about Ranger. It's so hard losing our fur babies

I was just telling my partner that I need to give the living room furniture a good vacuum because the bunny (Val) is getting very adventurous and climbing on top of them (like Sunshine did in your video) and they're probably dusty.

Hi Diana, I like the underbed storage solution. I don't have the Dollar Tree one, but I have one from Fleet Farm (although not sure if you have a Fleet Farm by you) and I like their line of those kind of products (I don't remember the brand name - I think it might be the Whitmor brand if I remember correctly), but my husband and I love storing blankets in their under the bed storage thing and it works quite well! Ours is a gray color. I'm also not much of a pumpkin spice/pumpkin girl, but there are a few pumpkin things I do like. That's cool that you live by Memphis Tennessee, my husband and I are going to Tennessee on my birthday in November this year! It'll be our second time going to Tennessee! ♥

I totally get that we have two cats who love to try and enter our bedroom any chance they get and love hiding under the bed, although we don't allow them in much anymore since they get very naughty when they're in the bedroom. I was curious about the sugar, so I had to Google it 😂: According to Domino, the boxes are different sizes because a pound of powdered sugar is less than a pound of brown sugar. A 16 oz box of Domino powdered sugar contains around 3 1/2 cups. A 1 lb box of brown sugar contains 4 cups.
Hi Diana! That was a good, quick run thru your bathroom. I keep hydrocortisone cream on hand. So many nights - I get a spot on me somewhere (foot, leg, arm, hand) that itches and drives me nuts. I wonder if it’s little tiny spider bites. I seem to spot those here and there around the house. My bathroom has been decluttered a lot. I don’t buy a lot of products. I seem to stick with one until it’s used up. So, it’s easy to manage. But, I still seem to find things to declutter. 🙄
Poor Sunshine! Hope she feels better soon. I have 4 cats now! I’ve never had a cat. A cute little tuxedo patterned kitten from next door adopted us. We named her JoJo. She was about 4 months old. And, we soon discovered she was pregnant. She had 3 male kitties. All tuxedo. Very difficult to tell them apart. They’re 3 months old now. And, we’ve gotten attached to them now. JoJo got spayed 2 weeks ago. But, OMG! adjusting to having pets has been a joy and a pain in the butt! 😂 Litter boxes! Yuck! Then, little Jasper climbs in bed with me at night and wants to snuggle next to me like JoJo used to do before she became a MaMa. And, Blue & Trey climb up and practice their ninja moves on top of us at 4am. 🤷🏼♀️

@@dianasimplifies JoJo is talkative. She wakes us up when she wants us to get up and feed the kittens. She talks when she wants me to pet her. She called her babies to come nurse. She has a very sweet disposition and so far the boys do also. She’s so funny - when she done with being petted - she very gently pushes your hand away. She did it to the vet. The vet said “I guess that’s enough touching now.” One of the boys does it too. But, they’re sweet. They love to crawl up near me and fall asleep. My husband feeds them treats so they go visit him a few times a day for treats. It’s a whole ritual. They’ll sleep on the foot of his recliner. Yesterday and today - one of the boys started the RoboVac. They’re very curious about it. They watch it closely. They don’t seem to be scared of it - just cautious. And, they’ve discovered the bathtub. They remind me of skateboarders in a skate park. They run up and down it. Get on the ledge or corners and jump on each other. Yesterday, I was in the bathroom with the door shut but not completely closed. It slowly opened and all 3 boys and JoJo were standing there. I asked if they were calling a meeting. 😂
@@dianasimplifies I forgot you had a Jasper. We got Blue’s name fairly quickly. He seemed to have a little gray in him compared to the others. Especially in the beginning. The name Jasper just came to me one day. He seemed to be a little old soul. Sleeping a lot. The last one to come when Mama JoJo called them. And… Trey because he was #3. The funny thing is.. I think Trey is actually Blue. We got them mixed up. The difference in the coloring is so slight they have to be side-by-side to see it. They all 4 have solid black faces and 4 white boots. 2 have white chins. One of the white chins has a longer white sock on his right rear foot. We’ve been reluctant to put collars on them because they tend to hide in the tightest spaces. I’m afraid they’re going to hurt themselves. May try a breakaway collar when they get a little bigger. They weigh about 3.5 lbs now. JoJo is about 7 lbs.
