I hope you will join me as I start off my Frontier build series and share all the work put into making the perfect first truck for me (or anyone who feels the same way). It is going to be a fun ride and I am looking forward to every mile travelled with this rig...let the mods begin!
I simply cut the lower portion of the front bumper off. There’s a line that separates the upper and lower portion of the bumper and you just use a cutoff wheel and tape over the line for a cleaner cut 🤙🏽
Thanks! Looks like those are not up for sale here in the US... but I went with the AVS brand low profile visors. Very similar in looks from what I can tell.
AWESOME VIDEO! I just bought a 2016 Pro4X. Just what I was looking for. Were any of the bulbs extremely tight, like the ones inside the cabin in the back seat?
Nice mods... but the cost on those Morimoto headlights is just a joke for what they are. Your money though, so I will pipe down. The stance I love. Nice picks on that leveling kit!
Thank you so much, I appreciate your opinion! They are expensive for sure but I’m also happy I chose them at the end of the day 🙂 this was the goal for stance all along and yeah, the level treated me well! I’ve now replaced my rear springs to some OME 2” Lifted Springs so don’t need the rear blocks anymore 😂
I've got most of my Pro4X done with LED conversions. Big time difference. Not only brighter, but different color too. But not too blue. Don't go over board with the LEDs.??? People. Do Not get the LEDs that are way too blue.
I just got a 2012 silver pro 4x crew cab. We kinda have similar goals. I’d love to get the coastal off-road bumpers. Mines got koni lift kit from all dogs off-road. I want to get the dobinsons extended coils for 3” lift. And add 1” body lift. Be way more capable of a truck w the bumper and winch than any more lift. Especially if u get snow like I do. Btw mines lifted about 2.5” now and has fuel rims w 285 geolanders and 1.5” wheel spacers. I might go back to 265s Maxxis buckshots. 285s just don’t look right to me w the minimal lift I have. Good luck on future build keep the videos coming
I love AllDogs and their products! I’ve heard great things about their Koni lift kit and it’s driving characteristics and getting Dobinsons extended could would be sick! I’m still slightly iffy about body lifts but think they help achieve the right stance for many builds. In terms of sizing back down to 265’s, I’m not so sure because I feel going wider is always the way to go! Perhaps if you get those dobinsons coils and body lift, your 285’s would look perfect 🤙🏽 Sounds like you’ve got a sweet build so far and best of luck in any route you choose to go for your future mods! Cheers 🍻
Let me tell you how outdated that truck is I had a 2017 Tacoma sport I sold it during when everything was going for high prices and bought myself a 2014 frontier pro 4X and I'll never buy another truck except for another frontier pro 4X the parts are incredibly cheap.
I still have not measured the increase in HP, if any at all haha. Definitely no improvement in terms of MPG unfortunately but it sounds amazing so whatever😂🤙🏽
I couldn’t tell you honestly haven’t had it on a dyno or tuned so it’s hard to say but Z1 Off-road did a shootout with exhausts and it seems to have a gain in HP🤙🏽
I’m going to replace the back lights but I kinda like the Hallogens in the front! I leave the fog lights on and I like them on togeather! The only thing that sucks are the high beams! But I don’t use the high beams a lot anyways!
Thanks for your opinion! If your halogens are getting the job done, there would be no point swapping em out. But I definitely think the rear upgrade is worth it🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Getting ready to send my sons 2018 Pro 4x from FL to Alaska as he’s stationed there in the Army. What have you done to winterize yours? Obviously no one down here in Florida knows anything about that. Just put a set of Duratrac’s on his after seeing your videos. Great vids. Rockford Fosgate kicks some serious sound!
Thanks for the question! So the best thing you can do to get prepped for winter climates is to have an undercoat applied on the vehicle. If you prefer to apply it yourself, you could buy a few cans of Fluid Film and spray it all throughout the underside of the truck and focus more on the frame and even suspension components. Always be sure to have some sort of winter emergency kit in the vehicle (a shovel😂) and also extra pairs of warm clothing every time you head out. Never hurts to have bags of sand/salt too just in case you need them, plus they’ll even add some weight to the back to help a little with traction. So besides a good rust protection option and good tires, you’ll be just fine. I truly appreciate the support and hope your son enjoys the vehicle out there! Send my regards and thank him for his service. Take care🤙🏽🤙🏽
