she is just straight up a brilliant woman, and i love getting to watch her raw mind process in real time her own thinking process and explain in her own words why her music is so great.
Wonderful interview, thanks! Davey Johnstone’s role as a talented M.Director shaped the sound of Elton John… so incredible… the sound of honky chateau… backup vocals on rocket man etc…
One of the greatest keyboardists of all time however he should keep his comments about politics to himself he doesn't need to guide anyone regarding their decisions in politics
It’s lovely to hear that he’s still with the love of his life & took time out to be with her through her cancer . That’s what Love is . I hear she has now beaten it & that’s just wonderful news ❤
When I first heard Elvis I thought he was a very talented man but could not understand the girls reactions after all he was just a man I am a girl but it did not affect me that way, way out of control. They did not know his character we need role models like Lincoln, Kennedy and the like. I like Mr. McClean because his writing is on the truthful side of life. If we do not cultivate Love and Truth in our character then we fall for boose and drugs to fill the gap.
Herbert w Armstrong said get your happiness out of your job, do not be a round hole in a square box. When you do a job you hate it will never make you happy, it will make you and those around you very unhappy because one is hating what they do.
We need a singing concert for Seniors so they can buy riding lawnmowers so they stop killing themselves out in extreme heat. Sings use to care for farmers now who knows. I like Mr. MClean.
I saw Pure Prairie League playing in Myrtle Beach in the early 80s. I was super pissed off at the front man had left, and we were seeing a second rate version of Pure Prairie league. Found out after all these years that it was Vince Gill. Hilarious. They were great by the way.
"Deceptive Bends" is a masterpiece! I have been listening for at least 45 years. The first time I saw a 10 cc album was in late 70s in Ankara. It was the debut album which belonged to a friend of my brother... so we tape-recorded it. After that, I have listened to Deceptive Bends and I thought they must be different groups or people. Anyway, 10 cc was always one of my fav band. Oh. how I tried to find "Telephone Line" for many years after listening a couple of times on a friend's record and lost it in 80s... Great song...
I saw PPL in early August of 1978 at the Grandstand of the Ozark Empire Fair. We were tripping on mushrooms and had front row seats. Best live performance I've seen...
One of my prized records is a live album that all the guys signed. When I went up to Vince, he said he wasn't on this album. But I asked him to sign it anyway. He even personalized it by writing a nice note. Thanks again PPL!
I saw PPL in 1979, in Dayton, Ohio. It was my pregnant wife’s birthday, and we waited outside the venue to see them. When they came out, I told them it was my wife’s birthday, and they sang Happy Birthday to her in three-part harmony - it was pretty cool!
Y’all are actually gross in this comment section. If you don’t like Rubin or think he’s not good at what he does that’s fine but y’all starting to say that the only reason he’s successful is because he’s jewish😂 I didn’t know that he could coincidentally produce like 10 of the top 100 records ever, y’all are ridiculous
Great interview, ithis hour with you helps to know you better. I love your sense of humor. I wish we could get an hour on UTube for Sunday Mass, the church Mgmt said they could not get it even though we pay for it. Love you. God bless❤❤❤
