Great interview. Bill's album Single (1978) is so underrated and underappreciated. The song "Fly with Me" is qualitatively on par with "After the Love is Gone" and most of the tunes on Bill's Runaway record. I've seen him in Sweden a couple of times and man, what an artist he is.

Bill Champlin music is not Yacht Rock. Neither is Toto, Steely Dan, Doobie Bros, M. McDonald. Its called “West Coast” music. Bill even said it. Yacht Rock is a joke.
