Minnesotan... own way too many minivans and some other "cool" junk. I have a dashcam or two and I am often at the local U-Pull yard. You might see some of that here as well as other related adventures.

U put new bushes in the subframe that u dropped and the lower control arm , looks like a rod coming out goes into. I think it was red or orange. What is that bushing called and where did u get it please. I have to get them for both sides
@michaeljackson8510 it's called a strut rod bushing. Rock Auto has the kit for like $10 includes both sides. Getting the old one out sucks because it's a 1 piece bushing where the new ones are 2 piece.
I know you said you wouldn’t ever pull parts to sell but dang it. I need that chrome trim around those headlights and I need that rear wiper arm. It’s impossible to find things anymore ugh..
@TFD1982 sorry lol. Check car-part and see if any non u-pull yards list any second gens. I usually just search by front left fender. Call around based on that. Drive up to Minneapolis and I'll give you a set of headlights with the chrome bezels and a rear wiper arm.
@@MNMoparMinivan oh, you're I saw what you did there 👀 haha, you're cute 🥺 I snagged a unicorn 2006 Chrysler Town and country limited 67,000 MI she is clean 🪥🪥🪥
These cars are always the most weird to me, It is simultaneously maintained and neglected. The owner did not take care to prevent rust but mechanical maintained it, which makes no sense to do when the car will just disintegrate from unmitigated rust. Anyway nice video!
@@MNMoparMinivan They use to be everywhere here. I haven’t been in a junkyard for about 5 years now.. probably will be disappointed with whats to be had .
@@462ANIMAL I think everyone else already used them up for winter time, which is why AWD ones are unobtainium. They all disintegrated already. Honestly it is best to use new cars for winter beater, they aren't going to last long enough to worry about rust anyway.
ohh! you should try the windows when you see a crank one! my white 86 work like butter! I had an 85 mini ram van and they were so tough a friend actually snapped the crank arm off! LOL!
sad that so much work was done to that van but in the end it looks like the engine went. Kinda surprised they didnt do any body work to it with all the money put into it mechanically.
Morning bud like the blue but I think you and I should split on this van it is in good shape not but we can rebuild it ok vs like the blue thanks for the video
@@MNMoparMinivan lol still on the trailer. Just family health stuff atm and days off have been traveling. Trying to plan how to tackle the engine to see if it is worth doing anything to. Pulley is off the cam, and all the accessories are undone and laying to the side. Crank pulley is still on and the timing belt is on that still. Thinking pull valve cover off first and look. Possibly get a cheap scope and pull plugs. Not sure what all I wanna do to it atm. Would love to just be able to drive it as is for the time being.
The three door is what I would use to convert a minivan into a mini truck. Cut the roof off behind the driver and weld the rear passenger door closed. Good video. Happy Motoring.
Hmm do you like the dew? 🤔..😂 and man you basically went though the same shit I did earlier this year I’m about halfway through the video as of this comment.
@@MNMoparMinivan I’m already over the hour mark doesn’t really feel that long when you got nothing to do haha!!glade you were able to get that control arm bolt out I’m dreading the day I have to do mine it looks like it fcking SUCKS.
@@MNMoparMinivan ohh man yours is much cleaner then my 94 mine having the lower plastic cladding it’s completely gone in the rear for the rockers the rear heater lines even have a repair since they rotted out now mine however doesn’t have any floor rot but for 143k you’d really think my van has well over 200k I’m keeping it off the roads during the winter can’t stand to have more salt damage to it I love this van and do plan to get the rockers done you can find replacements but my welder is out of gas and that’s why my trans am hasn’t had more metal work done in 4 years. It’s all in time I’ll get to it my aunts 95 caravan my my town and country are going nowhere I’ll be working towards fixing the 95 after I sell the 96 of corse but I plan to at a minimum drive the 96 for a year or the value goes up again.
Did u clean your headlights, because mine r yellow, or just replaced them?? If so, with what?? I will have to get someone really good to get them clear again
@Compact-Disc_700mb so the seal on the bearing hub was fine. I accidentally left the metal dust cover that goes on the axle side with the seal... when you get axles the dust cover is already on them. So I had doubled up the dust covers
Good afternoon I am glad you no how to do all of that control Arams glad they are all fixed van going be bran new new power steering pump to thanks for this bc video chow
@@MNMoparMinivan yeah I was surprised it worked. He had amnesia oil leak that made the alternator all oily. Nice work as always bro! 😎 keeping them alive
I had one of these vans when I lived in Plymouth Mn. I also remember when it hit 33 below there was no way would you get any heat out of this van since the block was aluminum. Otherwise a good van, simple and it started every time.
I think it’s really bizar how 1 van with just one look can have so many names. Without any other looks. Dodge caravan/grand caravan Chrysler town and country. Chrysler voyager Plymouth voyager/grand voyager And they all look just the same. Only another logo. I know more brands sharing the same platform and the same engine for a model. But than they make them different like other style lights and bumbers. Little different dashboard.. but this van is just exactly the same 😂 that’s one way to safe money
@jdnrotterdam2150 caravans and grand caravans have a different wheelbase. The "shorties" are 113" wheelbase and the "Grand" caravans are 119". Town & Country models had some unique options like digital cluster and 3.8 engines, and the crystal pentastar. But yes, the platforms were essentially the same.
In my 20's I had a 98 with all the same features, except mine was Silver with a black leather interior and it had a 2.4l 4 cylinder engine. I religiously maintained it and never had a problem with it. Everything worked, and nothing rattled like other cars I had driven. This was a Nevada car so no rust, just some sun fade spots on the paint like any other southwest car. The Autostick was fun if you wanted to drive spiritedly. It was a great car, I drove it everywhere. Lots of memories with friends / family taking it on road trips. I loved that thing. Ultimately sometime in 2010 I had to sell it when the transmission was slipping and the car became undriveable. I couldn't afford the thousands to fix the transmission. Unfortunately due to the age, high mileage nearing 200k, and mechanical issues. Nobody would buy it. I ended up selling it to a salvage yard for a few hundred bucks and it sadly ended up in a place just like the video.
@chloride9794 cool story! That happens sometimes. 200k is pretty good for a commuter car. Hopefully it kept a few others on the road. Thanks for sharing!
lol I actually put the owners manual under the third row for you and the window sticker should be in there. I think I messaged you telling you where it was
