Right on, this stuff takes work and lots of it. So many people want to buy pro gear and go shoot tiny groups, but it’s definitely not going to get you there without the good old fashioned quality practice making marked improvement. That being said, I built a precision gas gun with a handguard that allowed a little bit of flex when using a bipod and the gas block made contact with the mounting screws of my mlok arca rail under recoil. Needless to say it messed up my groups. Took a while to figure out what was happening. Sometimes it is the gear too! Subscribed and enjoy your videos!

I've been shooting and hunting with a Remington 700 BDL chambered in 6mm Rem for many decades. I'm an older guy and over my many decades of shooting and hunting I've had the chance to shoot a lot of guns and a lot of different cartridges. As such, I can tell you from practical experience that there is no advantage to any of the Creedmore cartridges. Yes, the 6mm CM can outdo the 243 Win, but when it comes to the 6mm Rem, it takes a back seat. It really is unfortunate that no one is chambering for the 6mm Rem anymore, as it is the superior round. Granted, as a handloader I don't ever worry about the availability of factory ammo, but I understand not everyone is a reloader. Overall your video is very good. I would point out a couple of things that you did not make very clear for people that don't have your knowledge. First, Remington originally called their 6mm, the 244 Remington. These rifles had a 1:12 twist which made it difficult to shoot bullets over about 80gr well, since they could not stabilize the 100gr or 105gr bullets available at the time. Remington then started to use a 1:10 twist and renamed the cartridge to the 6mm Remington. These rifles can handle the heavier bullets with ease. So, if your barrel is marked 244 Remington it will only handle up to 80gr bullets. If it is marked 6mm Remington it will handle any 6mm bullet out there. The other thing was, you said the 6mm Rem is based on the 7x57 Mauser case which is true. But then you said it was then necked down the the 257 (Rigby) and then to the 6mm Rem. The 257 Rigby is identical to the 7x57 Mauser in every way. The 257 Rigby is just the British name for the 7x57 Mauser. One last thing is, you really need to slow your speaking speed, or really work at enunciating your words as you tend to slur or run words together. Not trying to be mean or be a nitpicker, just some helpful hints from someone who has done a lot of public speaking and years of experience. Great video!

To each their own, but the 6.5 Needsmoor should NOT be labeled anything near a long range hunting rifle/caliber. It was designed to shoot competition for long range. These heavy bullets won't expand to take the animal cleanly, and we owe it to the animal to harvest the animal cleanly. I shoot both of these cartridges, but realize their limitations..If you want to look at a cartridge that duplicates.the 6.5 out to 500.yards, at which point it starts to edge the 6.5, look at the 7mm-08. Build a 7mm-08 with a 1 in 7 twist, and the 6.5.Creedmoor.will.go away

Any cartridge with the NeedMoore name I don't want anything to do with it. The 6 mm Rem is a time-tested game killer. I own a Rem 722 and AR 10 I have done in 6mm - 284 Rem

I've had a 6.5 x 47 for a few years now...only using the 129 & 139 scenar projectiles...lovely bc and accuracy to 1000m is remarkable. Remington action on an a5 stock, Krieger barrel and super consistent. Great on mid size game and even managed sambar deer comfortably at closer ranges (high neck shots), perfect on fallow deer. Crows at 400+ are shocked into submission, as are cats and foxes ;) Creedmore wasn't available when I picked it up and for that I'm actually quite glad. Thankyou for this comparison, it is very informative and well put together :)

Brother I've been hunting a long time and I get wanting the bullet to open up and perform the way it was intended but penetration through two 16", I think, blocks of ballistics gel is what I'm looking for with big game animals. I don't want a bullet designed to open up hitting tough hide and not getting the penetration needed to hit vitals. Depending on what you're hunting this is exactly what I'm looking for. A lot of the people on RU-vid with gun channels seem to think the same way you do and a lot of the time you all get stuck on things that don't really matter in the woods and most times in those cases you believe The exact opposite of what is needed in reality. Keep Shooting Stay Safe GOD BLESS YOU ALL

I am running the 6arc and loving it! Only thing is that the only factory ammo is the hornady stuff. However the hornady ammo works great and you should be able to get one of the 4 options that will work for you. 👍🏻👍🏻

Other big advantage of the 6 gt and really why the 6 creed died off in popularity where im at for prs is barrel life. Seriously the creed could get the ballistics but it would kill the barrel is 1200 to 1600 rounds. In some cases about 800. Compaired to 2000+ with the 6gt. Doesn’t sound like a tone but when you are shooting 150 to 200 round competition the 6 creed became very expensive to run when you factored in you might get as little as 3 to 4 matches after break in and load development.

The clear ballistic gel looks good for RU-vid videos, but doesn't have the same density as the FBI specified ballistic gel. Bullet manufacturers use calibrated FBI specified ballistic gel because it is the closest to tissue. Use the right ballistic gel and you will likely get a different result. The less dense clear gel will not cause the same expansion.

It's because you're an untrustworthy left-handed person and due to your left-handed deformity You were not able to shoot well enough with the already good enough 7 mm Remington Magnum and so you had to get a cartridge that was only the same amount as goodBUTDEFINITELYNOTBETTEREVENTHOUGH....... to make you more good at being bad... Cuz I tell you I definitely don't have a 7 mm Remington Magnum but those guys that do they're the smartest guys in the world and you do well to be like those guys 😂 how much did it cost to become a saun guy? Btw.... A friend wants to know because he's.... slightly interested in being a saum guy.....

.338 Lapua vs .338 Edge is a better comparison
@TexasTrained
@TexasTrained Месяц назад
I have both. I actually made my 300 RUM a Ackley Improved. It shoots really good. I also built a 338 Edge to be more efficient compared to my 33XC.They both run the same velocity. with the Edge using 15 grains of less powder .I use Reloder 50 in my 33XC and I use Reloder 33 in the Edge.Both are running 2997 with 300 gr Berger OTM. The Ackley Improved 300 RUM runs best for me on N570 and the 300 Nm runs best on Retumbo. Both shooting 245gr Berger LRHT. Ive since changed to 230gr Cutting Edge Lazers and running them at 3087 fps.. Great Video.

Appreciate the video. However, do you think the bullet not hitting the block squarely could be a factor? I mean, it went in the bottom of the block and an extremely acute angle.

Well i hate to say it bud ,but i dont think any of these cartridges are good much past 300yrds or less!!! Not if your hunting ethically. They are all damn good cartridges although for game of deer sized or bigger, i feel you dont have a chance to drop a deer with one shot. Its gonna run 1st which means its not an ethical hunt.If i plan to hunt past 200yrds for deer i wouldnt use any of these! But thats just my personal opinion. I feel these are more for target shooting out past 200 thats all. r for smaller game or varmits!

I do the 10 shot string in 0.3 gran increments. Find where im within 15fps between shots and settle in the middle. Then shoot a 5 shot group to see if it groups. If it doesnt, i seat the bullet deeper. I start every load 0.020 off the lands and only seat deeper by 0.005 till i find the best. Got a 0.23inch group out of my old valkyrie barrel and a .33 out of my 6gt.
