Great to watch this on my TV since upgrading my box. Thanks for the shout out’s it was a pleasure to host. Lots of fun and giggles along the way especially with a few going off route, including the other host Parker 😂
Another great ride............I love how much everyone enjoys themselves and how respectful everyone are of each other ! ! ! ! ! Glad to see you are feeling better Mark and that Amy is back riding with the group ! ! ! ! ! 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
@@SPMech1 thank you so much for watching Bob, it was such a brilliant day with great laughs and it was just what i needed and so good that Amy could get out and ride too 🙌🤗🚴🚴♀️
Hi Mark, it’s strange when you mentioned no t riding the Allez for a while. The last time I rode my Defy was when I joined the Cheddar ride with you all them years ago. I actually sold it and bought it back a year later. I’m always on the gravel bike but I must get back on the Defy 🙂
Those poached eggs looked great, I usually spin the water before dropping them in as it wraps the white around the yolk. I base my best cafe stops on how good their eggs are.
@@heidijarvis777 thank you Heidi 🙌 when I used to eat eggs previously (before I went vegan) I always used to spin the water but I’ve found that it really didn’t make that much difference, but now I’m back eating eggs I will try that method again 🤣🙌🤗
Take it steady with the covid recovery and keep an eye on your exercising heart rates. I fell ill a few days before Xmas and after 6-7 days I thought I'd beaten it but returning to the bike my HR was very erratic and unpredictable. The Nice finish made for a refreshing change but as a former Paris-resident I'll be happy when it returns to the old cobbled Elysees circuit.
@@clippingin1593 thank you Gordon that’s great advice, I’ve still got a lingering cough which I seem to have had for about 6 weeks now (not as bad as it was though). Ah you lived in Paris how wonderful such a beautiful city and I agree seeing them next year on the cobbles will be fantastic.
Another fantastic vlog Mark, you've certainly inspired me to fix up or replace my Allez, there's just something about them! You'll be giving the cycling tattooist a run for his money at this rate 😂 See you Sunday buddy🤗🙌
@@marksmith566 hey happy birthday my friend, really looking forward to seeing you on Sunday 🙌🤗 and I know what you mean about the Allez, I love the frame shape it’s just so pleasing on the eye! Hey I’ve got a fair way to go to catch up with the cycling tattooist 🤣
Happy to see you're able to get out riding........my highlight of the Tour was being at the finish line of Stage 8 and being in the stands directly across from the podium.....what an experience.......Great tattoo ! ! !
That looked a great evening ride mark and the bike looks brand new 🚲👍🏻 like you I loved all of the tour absolutely brilliant. Good tattoo mate I am thinking of another one myself 🤔 keep peddling 🚲
Didn't take the covid jab, people around me who did are now knackered, keep going down with Covid,it seems they don't have the immune system to fight it. Mark looks like a fit guy, eats well, yet keeps struggling with his health, bet with his job he has to keep taking the boosters.
@@geoffwalmsley3066 hello Geoff, it’s totally bizarre isn’t it! I initially had the first two jabs back in 2020 but I’ve never had any of the boosters and I never would now for sure. Thankfully I’m over the worst of it now but that past 6 or 7 weeks were awful for colds & covid! Thanks for watching mate 🙌
Same around me, no jab and my wife never took it either, neither of us are every really ill with colds etc but almost everyone I know who has taken the jabs is constantly suffering with endless colds flu type issues. A guy I ride with has had every booster and has been sick with one cold after another for months and is so weak on the bike now it’s ridiculous.
I don't like tattoos but if it makes you happy, do it. COVID is a bugger. Hopefully you have gotten over the worst of it now. I do poached eggs very simply exactly the way you do it. It works every time. The key is to not have the water bubbling hard, just a gentle simmer. I like mine a bit firmer than you. I don't time it, just do it on how they look. Probably four mins. I did a longish walk today along a beach near home. It was warm for Scotland recently...20C...so I even went in the sea for a swim. Refreshing.
@@jimmyjohnstone5878 ah Jimmy how lovely going for a sea swim today and you’re so right, covid is definitely a bigger but thankfully I’m well over the worst of it now and able to get back out riding now my energy levels are back up to normal! Thanks for watching mate 🙌
Look at the yolks on that! 😉 🍳 Cav breaking the record for me 🚴🏻♂️ Had the pleasure of seeing him race in person on the Hemel tour of Britain stage all those years ago 👌🏻
@@robertwilkinson9756 hey hello Robert how are you doing mate? Yes the fcc jerseys are still for sale. I’ll send you the link to the FCC Store and any questions just let me know 🙌🤗
Feel better Mark ! ! ! ! ! Just got home from the trip to France. I have a 30 mile charity ride Sunday..........Its hot as hell here.....I hope I'm up to it after 3 weeks off the bike ! ! !
@@SPMech1 hello Bob I hope you had a wonderful trip to France mate and good luck on Sunday for the charity ride, I’m sure you’ll be fine just drinks lots! 🙌🤗
Well done Spain. Scotland thanks the team. Sorry to see you struck down with COVID. It's still a thing. I get a boost vaccine Spring and Autumn due to my compromised immune system and thankfully have avoided catching it. There's a way to change in a car...wear loose track bottoms and go commando. Less effort than trying to wriggle first into underwear, then into jeans. They stuck to your damp body too much to be quick to slide into on a car seat.
Hey Jimmy that is great tip and I have before worn loose track bottoms but for some reason I opted for jeans this time which was a mistake buddy! I'm glad you have avoided the covid lurgy, it's still lingering for me but I am feeling so much better. Have a great weekend mate.
Doesn’t matter how healthy you are these days, the immune system seems to be fecked. I used to get a cold a couple of times a year now I feel ill nearly every month. Oh how times have changed. I was ill mid June and then ill again beginning of July, just doesn’t end. Hope you feel better soon Marky😊👍
@@JamesSocialCycling it’s just bloody crazy mate and it’s so annoying when I haven’t got the energy to do anything and finally the weather seems to be good! 🤦♂️ Thank you for watching James, I hope you’re on the mend 🤗🙌
Just rubbish that you were poorly, with covid, hope you are feeling better now. Crazy weather, one minute I have the heating on and then I’m walking around in pants and vest 😂
@@heidijarvis777 still in bed feeling feeling rubbish Heidi 🤦♂️ as the sun is shining and it’s warm outside and I’ve been walking around in pants & t shirts but only because I haven’t got the energy to get dressed 🤣😆
Get well soon Mark. I wouldn’t say Amy was smashing it on the front. We were all taking it easy. You were just so poorly and off the pace. You should have stayed home 🤒😷 Good to see you are feeling a bit better already. Don’t do anything too strenuous for a couple of weeks. Just light stuff when you feel up to it initially.
@@DuncMcNutt thank you Duncan, I was so slow it was crazy 🤣 and i definitely should have stayed at home but I wasn’t that bad when we set off but gradually got worse as the day went on 🤦♂️ Hope you’re well my friend and hopefully see you soon 🤗🙌
Bad luck Mark. Get well soon. My wife and I haven't had covid or any other virus since the pandemic began. We wore a mask in the early days but don't really do much now for protection. This is despite mixing with our grandkids who have, I think, all had covid and various other bugs. We must be doing something right but we don't know what it is! 😀😀 All the best.
I had that virus again recently, luckily for me it's just a mild cold. Seems everyone I know has it at the moment. Hope you feel better soon, don't rush recovery.
@@Chunky246 thank you mate, it’s just annoying that energy levels are so low, hopefully I’ll be on the mend by the weekend 🙌 thanks for watching I really appreciate it.
If you were doing the route in reverse did that mean the 18% climb should have been a decent? 😂😮 we have a great local cafe that do the BEST poached eggs on toast.
