I couldnt understand if the tomb raider you refered to was the remaster, you talk about an island as the environment and story location but the remaster goes through many different environments, wasnt the 2018 remake the one thats set on a single island?
If you make a video like this but with classic Nintendo games on the subscription service, I'd put Wario Land 3 on the list. The secret Metroid title that is very much a metroidvania. Even did a video on why it's the most unique one on my channel.

V is pronounced as five for Skyrim and VIII pronounce as eight for Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana. After the Legend of Zelda those two games are the best on the switch.
Except for a couple of exceptions, like Axiom Verge and Metroid Dread, most of these games which resemble cartoons are very uninteresting to me, visually.
Great list. For me (besides the obvious Mario and Zelda titles of course) the entire Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy are easily some of my favourite games on Switch or in general. To add to your list I HIGHLY recommend the Persona franchise . Awesome JRPGs that are among some of the best ever made. Also I'd recommend you give both Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition and Age of Calamity a try as these are incredibly addictive hack and slashers. And finally I'd also recommend you give the Mario plus Rabbids games a try. An awesome spin on the X Com franchise with suprising deep gameplay And where the first game actually sold pretty wel, the second is sadly extremely underrated. Good work on the video. The title really needs to be: 10 INSANELY Immersive Switch Games Everyone And Their Neighbor Has Definitely Played. Good compilation of games, bad title.
I’ve not only played but I played everyone of these games to the end. With the exception of Dead Cells that game will never end for me 600 hours later….
Very good list! I don't exactly consider Dead Cells a metroidvania. It's a roguelike with metroidvania vibes. So my list would match yours except I would instead replace Dead Cells with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Some honorable mentions in my list would be: Ghost 1.0 Dust: An Elysium Tail Timespinner AeternoBlade Ender Lilies Mind Seize Touhou: Luna Nights
Depends what you mean as “story”. I consider story games as games with an actual story they are wanting to tell the player. This list starts with one of the worst 1st party story games ever put out on switch. Zelda BotW. That game has almost no plot at all. You get a dialogue dump at the very beginning and that’s it. There is no story. No character development. No up and downs, no struggle. The main character is literally mute. It’s fine to like BotW for other reasons, but to claim it as an excellent story game is crazy.
