Ola estou com um dtc p0094 estou confuso com esta falha pressao do rail em marcha lenta fica ocilando em 520 530 bar vc pode ajudar com alguma dica obrigado
Hi Leone, p0094 is a high-pressure fault so think injectors or fuel pressure control valve. Provided your low pressure isn't starving the high-pressure of fuel. Hope this helps 👍
Fiz um teste de desvio de injecao ea sexta unidade esta variando com valor mto alto em relacao as outras isso pode ser conciderado um defeito a pressao do daf em marcha lenta seria qual? Obgado ele e um mx13
@LeoneFelippe-jd8mw you should have 6 bar at idle and about 9 bar at 1200 rpm. Correctional value should be under 9 percent during a high pressure leak off test
Hey Geoff. No buddy the smaller truck, the DAF LF or the newest model that has now replaced that is called a XB is actually a CUMMINS engine so the engines I work on are PACCAR and CUMMINS.
Ah right! Cummins used to be fitted to the CF and XF under the Foden brand but PACCAR dropped that brand and stopped fitting Cummins in favour of using the DAF brand and Paccar engine. Like I say the only truck to have a Cummins now is the smallest truck and that still says PACCAR over the cummins badge.
I am shocked lol it is 9nm for the top cover ,and 20 for the lower one lol...also battery guns on those covers are my bug bear ,i hate them and no need ,,so take that as a telling off lol On that paticular MX engine the loose inlet pushrod would be loose ie turn by your fingers so you know that is the one to adjust ,on the previous version both inlet and exhaust rods would turn ...Reference the injector ,,you are meant to fit the injector first torque it down then install the pipe ..The pipe can be damaged if put against the injector then the injector tightened down ,,,Shame on you lol .Remember the pipe end deforms as you tighten it ,the injector will sit correctly then you put the pipe in and it deforms which then lets you reuse it as it then fits back in to the inj as it should ,you way can cause excess leak off ..I use a bodyshop rivet for the tensioner lol...A good video all the same but you did let your high standards drop slightly ..
Ha ha ha I need to stop quoting torque settings off the top of my head. I'd cut the bit where I check them with a ratchet as it doesn't make good RU-vid lol I think I've always done the opposite cylinder when the inlet has been down but then I always check the cylinder I'm doing for free play on the rocker arm also 🤣 I HATE doing valve clearances.......I've only 3 more trucks booked for this month for valve clearances and I was in Wolverhampton yesterday doing a set too 😪.......I'm thinking its time I opened a DAF workshop with all this maintenance going on! The injector I've always done the injector up and then the tube.....I think that's the way I did it in this video unless I've messed up the order of the footage 🫣 I use to have a rivet also, it's in the toolbox at home....I need a bigger van to get the toolbox in. It's what's to hand these days 🤷 Did you see the exhaust brake rocker arms on 5 and 6 shooting oil out at the end of the video when I had the rocker cover off again 🫣
hi mate i found your channel last week and have spent every spare minute binge watching every video ,every one is a winner thanks for the info please keep them coming
Hey buddy thanks for the comment. I've upgraded recently from recording on my glasses to an Insta 360 go3s. It is a good little camera but only lasts 30 minutes between charges
Hello buddy😊,once again i find myself in this video😉. Can you give me the part number for the water pump sensor plz.. the same that you changed in this video..thanks mate.. waiting for your anwser bro😅
Hi ..i have been away , so you have had a rest from me lol...I would say if the injector is secure the the sleeve can not move up ...Though not in your case ...I have had a few heads when sent away ,as we send all heads away some come back with sleeve issues, but they never had issues before the injectors where removed ,so my theory is sometimes the actal removal of the injector causes the issue,,i rotate the injector before removal to break the "O" seals grip but it doesnt always work ..What i do not know is what changes have been made as the original MX never had any sleeve issues ,,Looking forward to seeing what happens with those other engines ..Also apart from you are a massive loss to the dealer network ,i watch your videos as they are interesting ,i enjoy your methodical approach to faults, and everybody can learn from everybody ,even if it is a different way to diagnoise a fault that may be quicker...You should have a parts list / catalogue somewhere of the kit you sell ,so it is easier to find exactly what you have
Ha ha ha I thought you had been quiet mate! I've seen very few injector sleeve issues and they are usually from some sort of other issue such as overheating. I've had an injector sleeve in my hand this week and I thought they would be thicker! And I thought the sleeve would have a bottom to it but it's hollow like a tube! I've still got the other engines to do this week. I love trying to help or bring people on through videos and funny enough the IMI has just invited me to participate in their 'More to Motor' campaign to encourage talent into the industry so so fingers crossed I will still be able to do my part even if I'm independent now and not under the all mighty DAF banner. As for the stuff I sell, it is all on the site over at www.trucktechuk.com/shop-1. If I don't think it's worth using I wouldn't sell it for other techs
@@TRUCKTECHUK Ahhh i never knew they where hollow ,,why the hell do they not give them a base so the injector holds it down ???..Just bollocked you on the latest vid lol..Well done on the IMI ,,sadly getting the right people in to the trade is difficult
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ha ha ha ha I should put a truck tech uk sticker on it......or make a container to bolt onto the adblue valve WITH A SITE GLASS!!!!! WATCH THIS SPACE 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how did you know for sure there should be no fuel return at idle? I understand the rail pressure drops when the injectors operate, but does it always drop enough that there's no need for the relief valve to regulate the pressure?
Hi buddy. Thanks for the comment and the question. The conditions that the P.R.V. operate on this Delphi system is open at key off for pressure reductionin the rail and during an excessive pressure issue if I remember correctly, we could have checked the valve with a scope I suppose but from experience, if you have fuel out that valve during normal operation it's leaking off when it should be. No regulation of fuel pressure happens from this valve when it's running. It's all done via the fuel pumps 👍
@TRUCKTECHUK ahh yes of course the fuel pump metering solenoid valve on top of the high pressure pump should adequately control the pressure sent to the rail at idle speed. Thanks for answering my question and making these brilliant videos. 👏
as an ex daf master tech (eindhoven),i have to have to say im glad im ex,havent touched a lorry for a number of years, but is a joy to see old problems ,are now the new problems.
Hey Darren thanks for the comment. 👋 do you miss working for DAF? Just out of interest, what do you do now instead of trucks 🫣. Every truck is a 'problem' these days.
Hey Andy thanks for the comment buddy. Yes, mate this dosing valve has coolant to it . The way the pump works now compared to previous versions is once upon a time the truck used air to blow the AdBlue through the dosing valve which as you state, blocks up, crystallizes ect. The newer system (this one) pumps the adblue to the dosing valve to create pressure but at ignition off, the motor gets reversed, this draws all the AdBlue from the line and the dosing valve purging it. So technically that line shouldn't contain any fluid after ignition off. I've not checked the reason for the coolant at the dosing valve so you could be quite right but my only guess is it's to keep the injector solenoid body cool during operation as the temperature of the dosing valve must be rather hot 🔥 especially if it was doing a stationary regeneration or PTO work 🤔
Hey Jon, God no! 3406 didn't exist after 2017 on daf xf and cf. It's done via chassis ECUS buddy. The chassis module front does the front brakes and the chassis module rear does the lift/drive or tag axles. The best thing about this system is you can see which pad wear sensor is worn through the diagnostic tool 👍
This channel must be gratefull for 'DAF' cos thanks to the rubbish 'quality' of daf (Paccar) lotsa updates are possible. I remember breaking 3 dafs (MX11) in 4 hours.... All overheated somehow without kickdown... maybe i strained them by redlining it continually. After that i was prohibited to get onto a daf an i got a old knackered MAN.... no trouble at all anymore.
Love the vids! Any chance you could let me know where you got that coolant pump from that ls brilliant! I’m sick of tipping the bucket into a watering can and making a huge mess!
Great, informative video. What do you think was the cause of the sleeve failure? It doesn’t seem to be a high mileage vehicle. Is it a common issue on other makes?
Thank you for watching! The cause of the sleeve failure could be due to excessive heat say if the truck overheated, either way it's not something that happens on its own.
Hey, if someone's willing to pay me to do a plug-in and wants my opinion on something I'm more than happy to do it/report on the condition of a vehicle😎
Hi i am having a problem with a 106 CF went i turn the key to position start nothing happenes if i leave it with ignition on there is some blower like thing on the engine that starts going and it doesnt stop if ignition is on removing relay G126 makes the engine turn over but wont start
Great Vid as per usual Bruv, sad day when the manufacturer (who install the injector sleeves at the factory) say they ain't replaceable, will be interesting to see if you/Matt can actually buy them, if ya can and want to have a go at replacing them obviously advise customer NO Warranty, it's a if it works Mint if not well we tried the cheaper option is the go. Might just be cheaper in the long run to replace the head, taking it off, replacing the squirter sleeves, new head gasket clean up, etc etc and it doesn't work, back doing the same job again, will add a considerable expense. keep us up to date even with just a mention on a separate vid on what happens with these type of jobs, or even a once a month Recap Vid where ya let us know the outcomes of jobs that you only diagnose etc. Man Hugs sent bruv keep at it 🙂
Hey John, yes its been the case since Euro-6 that its not the done thing at DAF to replace them but then who wants to go down the road of buying a new head every time this sort of thing happens!? I’ve a supplier I’m going to see tomorrow who I’ve dealt with before who has them so fingers crossed I come away from there with 2 new sleeves. As you say it will be a suck it and see with fitting them and rebuilding it all. But it has to be cheaper than a new head. I’m hoping the format of video means I can go back to customers a week later or even keep people in the loop on the jobs. As always john thanks for the comment buddy 😎👌
Hey buddy, thanks for the comment as always. A head is 2.5k 2nd hand plus the gaskets and what not so add another grand onto that 😅. I don't think the sleeves from LENO will come to that, it's just getting them out, in and sealed permanently will be the fun part
@TRUCKTECHUK Well I use Davie , but it was hard to get davie (since i don't work at the dealer anymore) +++ Jaltest seems like the best Alternative software to work o DAF/Paccar products! Thats actually how I found your channel (I typed in " Jaltest Paccar"). Glad i did :)
Hey beny! Thanks buddy. I've a link to some from Poland which I will discuss with the customer about getting I think. We can do a video on screwing them up then lol
Yet another top quality video, mate. We have a daf that's gone through two dpf filters in 6 months. The last one was in a month and did the same as yours did in this video cracked in half. Dafs idea of not taking old one back if its damage is abit crap.
Hey James. Thanks for the comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. We're they new filters or cleaned exchange items? Yes I think the surcharge for a damaged DPF is £650
@TRUCKTECHUK I think the first one was new, not 100% about the one that only lasted a month. I think if it does it again, I'm gonna stick a genuine Daf one in. We had the full exhaust reconditioned just after Christmas this year. we have had a couple of trucks done at the same place, but this one is the only one we have nothing but trouble with. Yeah £650 bit steep as well buying a new dpf too they sure know how to charge at daf 😆.
Am a daf man myself dont see what all the hype is over volvo and scania daf great to work on and comfy to drive just found you very informative. My work use texa does the job never used jaltest as of yet, cant beat adblue must make you few quid 🤣
Hey, thanks for the comment. I stay away from anything other than Daf, I've always liked working on the product even when they had a Cummins engine in and a Foden badge on the front. I've used texa a few times but last week I was called out to regenerate a daf lf as texa couldn't do it which I found odd. Adblue must be the biggest con going 😅😅😅 as for making a few quid....I should charge more lol
@TRUCKTECHUK I don't think it's a matter of texa won't do it. Texa has safety parameters that need to be removed in order to allow them sort of things to be able to be done. We're in the the process of getting them removed off our texa at the moment as our dpf filter split in half like that one you did. Will see whether it resets a dpf then 😂..
10 trucks at my place 8 scania and 2 daf, we have had more issues with the 2 daf than the rest of the fleet put together, xf now needs a new silencer pack 18k! I worked for daf for 10 years and really rated the product (loved the xe engine) then in 2006 the mx came out, fine for 12 months then the problems started, and they have never managed to get them right 18 years later.
@hedgehunting the company I was at last week who couldn't do the idle speed said they he has to use his phone and text texa to unlock features on his tablet?
Ah yes! Same here! It's always been a new cylinder head for me in the dealer but now I'm out of the dealer network, I'm getting told you can buy the sleeves and replace them! So now it's a case of finding them and fitting them somehow 🤔
Hey Steve, I'm glad you like the content. Yes the curse of nights. No repairs just the same old servicing.....easy to get your time in though and have a nap 😴 😅
@@TRUCKTECHUK As you say ,anything can be done But with Warranty and contracts the customer gets a new head ,So customer is happy ,,But with retail, dealers will probably say new head , or not warranty a repair ..A lot of good heads are scrapped for no reason,,A engineering shop will always pressure test it after repair
It's never safe to buy a DAF lol. They did improve the design and if it's had a new ECU recently it will be the improved design. Daf now suggests changing the ECU rubbers every 3 years to prevent them from going hard and increasing vibration. I'd be looking for a DAF built at the end of 2022 NOT NGD BUT before the camshaft issues of 2018-2019 on mx-13 Hope this helps
Hi, thanks for the comment. If you head to www.trucktechuk.com you can subscribe to the premium member's area for technical fault help or if you're in the UK and want me to attend to the truck you can use the contact form. Hope this helps
Just had the exact same problem at work as the first XF I am going to say that it will need a new Cam shaft as the lowebs have spun. And have had similar faults for the second XF also a faulty Cam shaft.
