Feral Cat Assistance & Trapping (FCAT) is group of dedicated volunteers who trap feral cats, spay or neuter (S/N) them, and then return them to where they were trapped. This is a process called trap, neuter, & return (TNR) and is considered one of the most humane methods to control feral cat population.
FCAT has one mission: to control the population of feral cats through the use of TNR. FCAT traps, neuters, and returns approximately 800-1,000 adult cats per year.

I had to use this net for a feral cat, following these instructions, but her claws got stuck in the mesh and so just dumping her into the carrier as in this video did not work. I tried to let her calm down so she would release her claws, but I think she twisted her leg and is still limping even though she got the okay from the vet.
My “go to” is the the Tomahawk GT606. It has never let me down. I’m looking into the new AS30. I have 2 True Catch 30’s and they have let me down, multiple times. I’m interested in your Freeman net. I handled a different Freeman net, but it was too heavy and bulky for a woman.
Omg can we hire this lady? We have a rescue who was badly abused as a kitten. It’s taken years but he’s made progress. The problem is we’re moving. The vet who did a house call last time to help us move him has retired & moved away. It was a nightmare last time. Required a throw net AND a needle full of sedative. Idk what we’re going to do this time. I guess we’ll try to find one of these nets 😣
If you just put the tarp or a towel over the carrier to make it completely dark and so she can’t see you standing over the carrier she would have gone right in. She saw you standing over the carrier so she didn’t want to go that way. Thank you for what you ate doing!
11 years later and this video saved another nightmare situation. Had a TNR feral get out into my basement for two weeks. Thank you so much for this video.
I've been trying to find the best way to catch my indoor feral that I rescued last summer. I need to get him neutered and I have failed to grab him 3 times now so I am going to order one of these nets and hopefully this will do it. His brother was easy to get I just put food in a trap when I fed them then to get them used to it then when it was time to go to the vet I sprung the trap and took him in but it's not working on this guy. Thanks for the video.
Excellent demonstration of how to use the cage net. I just purchased one and felt a little awkward practicing with it. With this demonstration and a little more practice I’m sure I’ll master it. Thanks.
My problem is all of my stray cats that I take care of in the winter time don’t like that crinkly noise so I might just have to use straw or figure something else out
Don't take a feral cat home!! It will be stressful for everyone involved, including the cat. Ferals are capable of survival outdoors, and they thrive there. Inside, they will be miserable for years, if not the rest of their life. Please, give your home to a cat that cannot survive outside.
I hate the fact that she had to be poked like that. Maybe a squirt bottle would’ve done the trick instead of poking her like that. I don’t think/feel that was humane. That’s just me.
