The reason why people wanted nitro was simple, battery life was short but today it has been extended, back in the day however, RC wasn’t the best in value in terms of quality back in the day, I love nitro rc cars, they look the coolest of their body and chassis and also, it’s realistic nitro parts for the build, these things fair better and kind of serve cheap depending on price of an nitro car and the components to make the car run, I like electric rc cars but nitro takes the cake in terms of longevity. This video is very interesting, maybe I was too young to know about the history of rc cars!
As a kid in the early 2000s I always wanted RC cars but my dad could only afford RadioShack brands now I’m buying Traxxas for my 14 year old son to make up for that hood and teach him a hobby
I have found Cyril Traxxas vehicles and found them worth the money video was very interesting I would like to see more of this I've had several of the trucks and nitro cars that they have trucks and in buying the new Traxxas Slash mudboss we'll have it Tuesday from my local hobby shop hope is as good or better as it looks the crap they've been getting from reviewers on this new car is stupid I hope it does well
Cool video, I own a Stampede VXL 4x4, a Slash C10 Chevy Drag truck and I just got my new XO-1 today. I also have the new Losi Grave Digger. Thinking about getting the X-MaxX Ultimate next. I wish they would bring out mor drag cars, Like the Plymouth Superbird, Hemi Cuda, etc!!
95 percent of my collection is traxxas, 3 2.5 rustler, e max, 33 t Maxx, 33, jato, 33 slayer, e revo, and 33 revo, have a boat 2, but I forget now which boat, they are good time for sure, have a traxxas nitro slash thing converted into a drag car, super fun
I would also suggest switching the stock shock towers to RPM also. I broke the rear stock shock tower shortly after driving on a track with the many jumps.
Great video! It needs a new chapter now. One that includes the copyright lawsuit they brought against WB for their name "HBO Max" infringing on their ip "X Maxx" and serving cease and desists to people making hop ups for their trucks.
Traxxas generally ends up being hated by a fairly large percentage of hobbyists. Why? Just look at their recent actions in the market. Picking on the little players. Traxxas will never see another red cent from me!
I had my first rc in the 80s but don't think it was a TRAXXAS. I didn't stay in the hobby and found it again in 2015 with the Traxxas bandit I got from a co worker and haven't looked back since then i have had two rustlers and a jlb cheetah21101 and 3 drones Good times
This kid was so popular back then I remember every kid wondering how to get rc’s set up as good as these racers set it up saddens me to hear his passing
Love my seven Traxxas vehicles. I have and also love my Arrma, Redcat and Losi trucks too, but Traxxas HQ is in my hometown (McKinney, TX), so theyre always be tops to me. 😊
We don't hate Traxxas as a brand. We hate those who drive them as they never seem able to repair their cars themselves. They buy overpriced ready to runs. Run it on a track. Crash it because these things are not meant for racing. And have them repaired by others as they themselves have never touched any tools. They never learned any skills. Not in building. Not in proper driving/racing. And the toys end up on landfill as disposable. You simply dont bond with your rc car if you havent build it yourself.
I have driven the trx1 on a track in 1995 it drove really good. I had a couple of traxxas myself the bandit from 2001 and know I have a bandit vxl on 2s
I still have my TRX-3 and Monster Buggy, might research that beast. Had an LS-II (still have the body in box art graphics) and also the NitroHawk (what nightmare to run that was).
Sorry Traxxas. But HPI out performed you in every aspect. Especially durability. Don't get me wrong, I love Traxxas rc cars. But HPI had you guys beat for the longest time.
These entrepreneurs amaze me. 2 men taking an idea and running with it to become very successful business still going strong today. I enjoyed the video.
Traxxas was very prevalent in the early 90s. Back then if you had a shop sticking the parts it was an obvious choice. That being said I dislike the way they operate as a company now. Still make a banger here n there but with less stores sticking parts there’s no real advantage anymore imho
