It is true some leather tanneries claim to sell bison leather when in reality it’s cow leather made to look like finished shrunken bison leather? I ask because it was mentioned by Nick Horween on the Full Grain Podcast.
*Neat to see the leather being hand cut for some pieces and others stamped out. It is cool seeing how thick the leather is! 😊 Thanks for the collab! These are awesome boots!*
*For those concerned about the stitches, it’s not an issue. The stitches are a lock stitch. When they get worn (ripped) on the rubber sole, the integrity of the stitch holding your sole to the midsole and vamp, is not impacted. This is normal. A lock stitch, as the name suggests, locks everything together. It consists of two threads that interlock between the mid and outsole. The upper thread can't be pulled through the holes of the lower and vice-versa, so even if the exposed threads break, everything stays together. The boots will continue to function as they were meant to. They hold the sole together in conjunction with the contact cement.*
The nails bend over (clinch) inside the boots. That is the purpose of the steel plate bottom on the foot mold (last). I hope that answers your question😊
@saturn7835 a forefront for my day job, 8" ot for winter/backup and a 6" ot for summer. I could justify a 300 as an extra wedge sole.... but I want a superduty S. and bear slayers. And russle mocs. Ugh fuck me
Very cool boots. I’d love to see them with a black vibram sole as well. Maybe even some other color options? Interesting idea and unique 7” uppers is definitely outstanding.
