is there anyway to change the key bind for that air adjustment that is set to the left stick, got a new ps5 &i keep over turning, i used to have that feature as my bumpers to turn the car mid air, & i cant find where to change it from the left stick
You really are by far the greatest teacher when it comes to Rocket League mechanics. I have watched hundreds over the years and not one person can break things down and explain things like you do. I would like to think im quite a high level player but still learn so much from you. Thank you for your efforts mate, the whole community appreciates you
It's a binding called "air roll left". There is also air roll right but I typically don't use that one. Conversely, if you hold down your air roll button, should you have one, you can then roll the car left or right based on your joystick direction.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I was looking up redirects when this came up. It makes sense. More than all other tutorials on this topic! It takes it one small step from zero. Thank you again and again and again. Subbed and gotta train on these then go watch part 2!
hey men, it might have been a year ago that you uploaded this video, but i am a gc peak gc2 and i never could get a perfect speedflip for years. you did the impossible you made me hit 4 speedflips in the musty training map ever in my life. i was planning to quit rocket leauge because no matter what i tried i just couldn't get the flipcancel. But because of you my legend and your explanation i finnaly got it!!!!!!!!! now i am gonna practice it a ton until i can be more consitent with it. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. No matter what you do, or what your going through, i want you to know you made a 21 year old make gaming more fun again, and made me not give up on rocket leauge. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN MAN, YOUR A REAL ONE FOR ME
Training packs are ideal for trying to figure out how to best approach plays that you yourself are not setting up. Receiving a pass, setting up an air dribble from an incoming ball, off the wall shots on net, etc. If you want to practice a mechanic that you can perform from having complete control of the ball, freeplay is king. The best place to practice incorporating a mechanic into actual gameplay is actually in "unfair" bot matches, focusing solely on executing whatever type of mechanic you want to do. This will help you learn to focus on your mechanics amidst all the distractions that happens in real games.
The best way to train is a mix of Free Play and Training Packs. Packs are where you learn how to do skills, Free Play is where you learn how to do skills in game.
Does this catching method at 8:46 still work after your new directional air roll guide? im kbm and use air roll left i start the tornado spin then press w during air roll but i cant seem to get the touch
Actually appreciate this one. Been training my air dribbles for a long time, as well as other mechanical using packs. Tried them in game and bomb out consistently so have started using free play to simulate more natural in game feel to the mechanics and honestly it's helped...still crap haha but getting there. Point is I can appreciate this video and the message behind it.
i've always been pretty good at dribbling since 2017 solely because of the circle ball indicator, and im always surprised that not many people even talk about how useful it is for balancing the ball and learning how to.
Idk how long this pack is supposed to get down but i am on the struggle bus. Plat 2 getting back into the game and i use air roll for recoveries and sometimes to angle my shots a little bit but this training pack is kicking my ass. I've been trying for over an hour and I can get the 3rd shot down some of the time, and the 4th shot down rarely. I just miss the ball or roll too much so that my car turns when i try and bring my nose down for the shot. I might just be an exceptionally slow learner, but I'm gonna keep trying at this every day this week because I'm always mystified when players are controlling their car in the air with air roll, it seems like sorcery that I can't predict and I want to be that guy
interesting side effect i learned how to consistently get a flip reset on that 4th shot by being early to the ball just not what to do once i get my flips back lol. it's the exact same motion just under the ball idk if that's intentional or not i haven't moved past that part in the video since i'm still practicing the first 4
@@tanny01 I'm getting a little more comfortable with it. I went from not using it at all in games to using it to angle my shots or redirect a shot coming from behind my car at my goal on defense. My brain isn't quite getting how people are able to maneuver their car in ways to always meet the ball from wherever they are or get crazy angles on shots, but I assume it's not something you think about and that it comes with more time played and muscle memory. I've only got maybe 150 hours in the game so every time I find time to play I have to allocate my time to all of these different mechanics that put people at an advantage.
@@demiseduke8000 interesting so guessing right now you only using it just before making contact, you don’t actually use it to let’s say go up for an air dribble or aerial
I really love your content Griff. I'm an OG rocket leaguer and if you'd been putting out these tutorials years ago I swear you would have saved me 1000 hours of freeplay failures. If I could sub twice I would
at 1:32 i really wanna know that design to me it looks so clean like what are the prim and secondary/accent colors and is the marred shard decal a color varient or default marred shard. also wheels?
Great video as usual. Do you offer coaching grifi ? Cuz I work and my time to play the game is so limited. I feel that having a couch may help me focus on the important stuff in my limited time.
I'm sure this video is so helpful however reading fast and using corporate language makes it so difficult to understand. Somebody please translate between 5:07 - 5:34. Understood nothing in there.
Basically, the idea is that you can adjust the car with up, down, left, or right, but you should only be using them briefly in order to set the car on the correct/intended course. You don't want to HOLD any of these directions.
Just want to say, I really appreciate this video. The directional air roll hack, holding it and doing the adjustment and keeping the stick in that direction was invaluable - I've also just recently been able to hit the ball in Musty's pack, and actually twice in the same session lol. Thanks a lot!
Hey there! I stumbled on your channel from the speedflip tutorial video, and this one perfectly summarizes my feelings (almost a bit too on the nose, lol). What you mentioned about non-transferable skills especially, and that obsessing over one game because you want to really be good at that one... hits close to home! You've got a couple new subscribes from me, look forward to more videos!
