Broken Hope was formed in 1988 by guitarist/chief-lyricist, Jeremy Wagner, while he was in high school. In 1989 and 1990, Broken Hope recorded two demo tapes and soon secured a recording contract with an independent record label. In 1991, Broken Hope's debut album, "Swamped In Gore" was released worldwide, launching the band out of the underground and into the metal mainstream.*Swamped In Gore was the first death-metal album to ever be recorded digitally.
The first ten years of Broken Hope's existence were filled with non-stop writing, touring, and constant visibility with these albums. Broken Hope's music has received praise from mega-metal bands such as Slipknot, Devildriver, The Black Dahlia murder, and more.
In 2012, Broken Hope signed with Hard Impact Management and Booking with the intention to make Broken Hope a full-time monster again. Now, Broken Hope continues onward with main songwriters Jeremy Wagner and Shaun Glass keeping the beast alive...brutal as ever...
Awesome. Thank you so much, Jeremy. I didn't know that the release was coming this early. Right now as I'm writing this, it's September 17 and my birthday was only this past Sunday. I'm currently getting a list together of stuff I want to order from Amazon with my birthday money and my mom is going to try and add everything up. Depending on what happens, I'm going to see if I can add this live release to my list. As always, thanks for coming back and giving us some brutal music again. RIP to Joe and Ryan. Long Live Broken Hope.
Haha it's funny how i found out about this band, was watching some tattoo show, a dude was wearing one of their shirts. Look them up, didn't expect it to be some good ass death metal. Don't it was going to be some shit ass hardcore/deathcore band...i was wrong haha
whats with the hate? the riffs are classic broken hope. production is clear. riffs are loathing esque with the breakdown heaviness of repulsive. and they are touring with deicide!!!!!
This is excellent. New BH sounds like signature BH, naturally, but with a few twists. Leski had some king kong-sized shoes to fill and he does a damn fine job.
