From BROKEN HOPE HQ:
BROKEN HOPE's JEREMY WAGNER celebrates RECORD STORE DAY "METALLICA STYLE."
"I love record stores and I love Metallica. Both the stores and the band have played a role in forming me into the metalhead and a musician I am today. When I was in junior high, I bought my first Metallica albums and many other metal albums at a place called Campus Records & Tapes in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. It was an independent record store on the edge of the University there. I don't know where I'd be today without the influence of that record store. Record stores change lives for the better. Drawn to album covers like countless other teens, I discovered many of my favorite bands. Vinyl, cassettes, CD's, you name it, I have all my favorite bands in all those formats--then and now.
I support record stores everywhere I go: from Rasputin & Amoeba Records in the Bay Area to Reckless Records in Chicago to Newbury Comics in Boston to Michael Denner's Beat Bop Record Shop in Copenhagen. I urge you to do the same. Record Stores rule. Happy Record Store Day!"
