Yeah. Maybe my entire childhood in a single clip. Being a kid wanting to break into a grownups world; but the music could be toned downed.just one or two notches?
This band just brings vibes that cannot be replicated. Some might say “listen to Brian Jonestown massacre” Similar but not the same. Both have their own unique vibe that can’t be matched. If anyone’s actually interested in the band itself and some of the backstory along with Brian Jonestown massacre there’s a rad documentary on it. The documentary is called “dig!”. In saying this though I believe one of the members of the dandy’s said it doesn’t really paint a good image for the Brian’s Jonestown massacre and if I’m not mistaken, I believe both bands respect eachother quite a bit. Both bands have evolved so to speak since that documentary while keeping its roots alive and its vibe still. Shoutout to Courtney, Pete, zia, Brent & Eric for making great tunes for us all to enjoy!
Nostalgia attack! The first song my old school band learned to, er... 'play'. I was the drummer. End of term concert - the physics master provided lighting and dry-ice smoke [🎵On the Water] effects... It was brilliant fun. We got through an entire 12-song set without a single bottle, chair, or can being thrown. This was our triumphant encore. Thanks, Quo! 😁 [We disbanded after the gig because we knew we'd never do anything as good ever again.]
I loved this band, they were great! I saw them regularly playing the club circuits in Sydney. That was a time when I was young & just starting out in life, I have seen the very best of rock-n-roll music, I'm so glad I got to experience it all. ❤
Saw them at the Enmore last Friday. Still an amazing live show, after all these years. I must admit to being late to the party. A friend who was a live sound engineer in Sydney in the early 90's kept raving about them. It wasn't until EoT that i started to take notice. They're clearly underrated, but i kinda like it that way. To me, they are Canada and Australia's most precious artistic secret. I don't want it any other way.
They have absolutely killed the Gold Coast and surfers with the light railway. Surfers was so vibrant bcse the locals made up half the demographic. You could always get a park and driving to Broadbeach to surfers literally took 2 minutes with 4 lanes and two sets of lights. Now for lease signs everywhere and shoddy business that sell absolutely nothing, no parking and traffic lights every 30 meters that are all designed to be red to slow the one lane traffic all the way to nsw
Ivor is a casual God. LOL. The only thing I ever saw that sucked was his copy of Bowie's Heroes - done out of love for sure, but pointless when he could bring the Ivor to it. Ms Amphlett was like a rare isotope. She saved lives by singing.
