In this channel I work on my own cars, haven't taken any of my cars to a shop in years, am not a mechanic and I don't pretend to know everything I learn as I go.
Did your transmission make a whining noise as well as losing gear? I'm trying to figure out if this is my problem on the video or maybe my transmission pump is going out
Nevermind the check ball diagram I see its ATSG book. So the servo stays up in main valve body while you do this, your thought on replacing that ? Would it go right back in and stay up ?
Great job sir, one of best videos ever on y-tube !!! Amazing how you even figured out the loose bolt was the problem ? you wouldnt mind saying what brand your digital inch pound torque tool was. and how much that john woods valve body was ? looks expensive :)
@brianblithe2271 Thanks for watching and enjoying the video. Please subscribe to the channel if you don't mind. So, the torque tool i believe it was Ac Delco. You can find it on Amazon and the Valve Body at that time I paid $267 from Riffraffdiesel.com it may cost a little more now. Thanks again.
Great looking truck. I always like that color. I have an 02 7.3 2wd in boring ol white. Lol. Bouta do this same job soon, just figuring out the best leveling pucks to get. Glad yours have done well, ill likely be getting the same ones.
In the two videos of yours that I've watched so far, you do a great job. I know there's a bunch of competition on 7.3 mods, but you're competent, explain your well. I hope your subscriber base keeps growing. BTW, I'm not a novice gearhead...machinist for years, retired electrician, I pretty much know my way around vehicles myself. Not easy to impress, but you do a good job....Paul
@paulmuntalbano7342 Thank you for the inspiring kind words, I try my best to do a good job at explaining what I am doing. Some videos turn out better than others, not easy to get things done and make a video at the same time, but as long as people enjoy them and get some use out of them I'll keep making them. Thanks again for your kind words.
@adventureswiththegaut1718 they probably could, but it would cost you a pretty penny considering how heavy and big they are. I bought this one for $930.
@adventureswiththegaut1718 The guy I bought it from his name is Daniel Stiner. Look him up on Facebook Marketplace he lives in Winfield, kansas, and checks out his profile he has tons of bumpers for the Powerstroke obs and Super Duty.
Magnet is probably going out. Ac clutch has a magnet that send volts to click the ac on and off. Or you over pressurized the system that its trying to regulate pressure
Thank You so very much for taking the time to film this video, your instructions, specific details and even leaving in the broken window was awesome and easily understood.
@loulouterry-pl4oh you're welcome. Yeah, I left the footage of the broken window, so maybe someone else won't make the same mistake, lol, even though I've done that job many times on both of my town cars I have never broken a window before it took me by surprise. Am glad the video helped you out.
I've had my 95 TC for 14 years and I've replaced all the regulators multiple times. The rears are the worst. I'm on the 4th each side. They break even if they're hardly used. Every one I've bought is junk, no matter what brand. Oddly the front are still ok.
great job with your steady camera and explanation! other idiots want to do it with one hand on the camera and another on the tool. But yours are well documented and very helpful. thanks for sharing
Finding good used honda d16y7 engines isn't so easy, at least in my area. May have to turn that crank down 0.10-0.20 on the rod journals, new oversize bearings and run it again.
Why don’t you just replace the crankshaft if the compression on cylinders are good. My mechanic said if the compression is still good on all cylinders you can just replace the crankshaft or take it to a machine shop if it’s not severally damaged and have it grinded. To much work? I know you said it messed up again after 8 months.
I mean, yeah, it is a lot of work, and a use crankshaft costs around $ 300 or more, which is almost as much as a use engine cost. So we'll see what happens. I'll probably drop a shorter video showing what it looks like the second time I already did the bearing again, and it runs, but probably not for very long.
Cap looks nice. The next time you change the fuel filter let both orings sit out for a while, just keep them on your work bench for a day or two and they will be in shape for the install and coat them with diesel fuel before putting them in 👍
Buen dia.
Yeah, since the crankshaft was too damaged when I did the repair. It only lasted about 8 months, and it's down again, and this time, we're looking into just replacing the engine But it ran well for about 8 months.
Thats pretty good for how much damage there was i feel like and its a honda so it wont be too expensive to change the engine hopefully. Thanks for the detailed video btw its probably gonna help me a lot if i decide to change mine. Currently have a problem of smoke coming out of my dipstick hole after an oil change for some reason. I really hope its not the rings but if it is ill change out the rod bearings as well :D@@oggarage3459
I remember doing this on a tractor once and i haven't really been mechanically inclined to do things like this anymore. Long story short i have this same issues i believe i have a set of bearing in my tool box i will be doing this this past weekend
Got a 96 65k miles excecutive a month ago , thanks for the video great car, that color of your car is the most beautiful color , saw some great magazine ads with that color , looks great, mind sharing the color code? Thanks again
Sorry about the late reply. The original cause for the bearing failure was low oil. Yes, it fixed the problem but only lasted about 8 months due to the fact that the crankshaft was damaged to begin with . As long as the crankshaft is good, it should last a long time. Thanks.
I ended up grabbing it from the top of the driver side with some channel locks. It was on pretty darn tight but managed to to break it loose without having to tap into it with a screwdriver. Great help with the.video and thanks for the reply!
