I mean some of these ideas are neat, but the video is like a minute behind the audio, it actually makes the ideas you're presenting hard to follow when you were explaining something and we are getting visuals for the previous topic instead of the current one, and with little animation bits and sound effects everything feels distracting when they seemingly play for no reason just see why they played a minute later
Hold up, the video that Mark was inspired by was hated, but this video is loved. Not saying that this a bad video, but is it not funny how this happened.
I was with you until you called Knuckles an idiot...yes, I know the writing can be back and forth on this, but it's also pretty widely known that Knuckles' naivety isn't stupidity, and the better written games pretty universally depict him as fairly smart in his own right. He lacks knowledge of modern culture and social norms because he grew up alone on an island, but he's also very tactically minded, and gifted at archaeology, for the same reasons. He's the last remnant of a long extinct warrior culture, and he carries that role and its responsibilities with pride. Being tricked by honeyed words from a stranger or confused by social conventions doesn't make him stupid.
rewatching this and the story is just good still that I wished to see more and want to know more if you ever decided to create more plot and want to see how it would look if you decided to create more but you don’t have to I am not forcing you also take breaks too and don’t over work yourself and have the best day possible
This reminds me a lot of the Oddworld series, such as Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty and Oddworld: Soulstorm are remakes of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus in that order. But if this reboot were to happen, the Oddworld: Abe's Series being Sonic, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee being Tails and Sonic with Tails taking the lead, and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath being a Shadows stand alone game. Highly recommended checking out the Oddworld Series and comparing this video to the Oddworld games to add to this concept. Ps not my main account, this accounts for pizza 😅
that handkerchief is really bad bad bad design, If its just there to be there to have an accent to match his shoes I'd rather another accessory for that anything but a handkerchief that is d tier ass neck accessory and pretty fucking common for people who draw these types of cute little guy characters
Personally I don't think we need a reboot. We have Sonic Robo Blast 2, the greatest Sonic game of all-time. I also don't think it needs to be mature and focus on the story. Sonic games before Adventure 1 were light-hearted and gameplay focused. You gave Sonic an interesting design, but i'm not a fan of him having blue arms. I also disagree with needing to take inspiration from Ori, Rayman, and Celeste. Why not take inspiration from SRB2? Well anyway, interesting ideas. These could be used to make a new game ip based off Sonic. :)
I think ssbu warily was the best, because he’s just so proportionate and not stocky and none of his expressions are too overextended like in the other games. And he seems happy to be beating the hell out of people.
I was on board till he said sprint button and no springs, checkpoints, or signpost. those gameplay stuff basically made him unique. real momentum and cool obstacles
As a massive sonic Fan, I love this concept. the inspiration from Rayman really is a good idea due to the colorful nature look it gives, plus with having Sonic be tied to Eggman is a fun idea! it would be a way to explain sonic's superspeed rather than a "Oh he was born with it" type approach. Bravo to you!
Hmmm, this feel more like an spinoff or an alternative take than a reboot, because to be honest this doesnt work exactly the way you think it will work if it was a real reboot. You got to understand than platformers arent as big and popular as they used to be, before trying to reboot a franchise that clearly hasnt near as the big reach as it used to be because the video game industry landscape is way different from the 90's nowdays you need to considerate that Sonic isnt going to recover his past glory anymore, those days are gone and people that made him popular back in the day are grown ups that have a totally different world view and experiences than back then. Rebooting something isnt as easy as making things more "serious" and simplistic in some other aspects, neither is a good idea going with the angle that SatAM went back then, the original even if it has a very basic "eco warrior" motif its mostly a side effect of making Eggman a mad scientist first obsessed with a more technological world, this does work more like a crash bandicoot plot which is not bad but its not "Sonic" The whole point of him having gigant casino themed countries, ridiculous, imposible land shapes and abstract like worlds is because sonic its more about style and spectacle and making things eye catching than adding "substance" to the world, for the better or the worse of course that's the flair of the brand and if you take this away and make things more "grounded" and mature with less bright colors more like Ori and the Blind forest realistic style with this almost Megaman like robots it kinda loses the style the franchise is known for and kinda sends a message that the brand is "ashamed" of what they did in the past because its "not cool" anymore. I dont think you need to hardlock sonic into just a 2D platformer because that will make it even more niche, sonic doesnt need to be just 2D or 3D it needs to make sense, it needs again to be stylish and interesting, making it a yet another retro like 2D styled indie platformer wont fix sonic's issues neither "GOING BACK TO THE ADVENTURE ERA" you cant fix what is "broken" you can mend it or just work with what you have, again platformers are a somewhat niche genre nowdays, its not the focus of the gaming landscape and you wont make him better by just making it more niche, this is why sega focuses on making it more than just a game, the only way Sonic will survive is by making it more than just a game, and i get it i might have a very flawed and negative outlook in this reboot, but that's why i think this is better as its own IP and franchise and not sonic. And while i love that you like platformers like Ori and Rayman Legends, and i always thought a game in the style of Rayman Legends with sonic can be a cool idea, at the end of the day i dont think it will do good for sonic at all, like a spinoff? sure, like its own franchise? i mean Rayman Legends did well with that idea so it can work, but Rayman its not Sonic and what works for Rayman and Ori thematic and plotwise doesnt work exactly with how sonic was concived in the 90's till this day, platformers might have evolved but they arent the dominant force they used to be and i think people's issues with Sonic is that they dont admit that Sonic isnt the big dog anymore and that the platform genre even if is still kicking today isnt the primary focus of people nowdays. Cool concept man but i think you need to either make it a fan game or a spinoff, or an entirely new IP with this, but not a Sonic reboot and we should all stop trying to "reboot" sonic.
Sonic adventure 1 & 2 were peak Sonic for me....everything else has fallen so far short I lost interest. Unleashed wasn't so bad but the werehog ruined it. The movies have certainly re-sparked my interest in the blue blur! 💙
I really love your idea for Metal Sonic becoming his own person and learning empathy and then DYING. Then he gets replaced by Eggman’s newer, colder metal sonic army.
